Thalaivi (2021)
Totally Predictable, Avoidable
I wouldn't call it a worst film and all. But after a good Film, Series and multiple stories and adaptations. I didn't think the film had anything new to offer. And even what was offered was choppy, mismatched, no flow, no connect. There is not much larger than life moments on the screen.
The small act in changing room is something I enjoyed. Kangana did look the part (except in the younger phase), but she couldn't do justice to the Tamil version, the lipsync was awful specially in songs. Even important sequences had to be shown in wide only. That mirror scene I actually can't see Ranaut even trying to mouth the words. I would congratulate her for the Bharatanatyam part, eventhough not perfect, it's very tough to pull off.
Arvind Swami is able to capture your attention as MGR, he is able to convey his bondage and make him sorry for him (he connects better on an emotional level) but the script falters leaving you confused. Samudrakani leaves an important performance. But the film did feel incomplete, when it's a film to touch the emotions of the people, somehow it lacked depth.
I wouldn't call it waste, worthless, terrible but I would call it avoidable. It wasn't necessary to make this film with no new angle.
Live Telecast (2021)
It's a bad bad show!
I don't understand why Kajal Agarwal is still casted, she is such a bad actor. You feel like switching off everything once you see her ott expressions and bad dialogue delivery.
The show is so poorly written and poorly shot. You would have better scenes in your grandfather's camera reel! I can't sleep once I see a ghost film. I saw this at midnight and laughed remembering the ghosts in this film! So bad! Too bad!
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (2009)
Please stop this!
This show is said to put light on social issues. But suddenly forgets all lessons learned. Inspite of going YRKKH for years and shows all platonic love. The keep doubting, keep stuff, abusing and separating. It's so stupid that this is called love.
Naira should have walked away from the madhouse much earlier. All kinds of patriarchy is glorified in a light way. A couple who is married for 10 years gives shocked and sensual reactions on an accidental touch 🙄 Please stop killing leads and bringing them back! This show is over! Just stop it! Longest running show pe chakkar pe! Uff!
The Great Indian Kitchen (2021)
The Camera Tells the story!
There is no unecessary preaching here. You are welcomed to the place where the story happens and you are allowed to watch and feel. You become a part of the story. You feel for the charachter.
Most charachters don't have names, they are someone among you.
Detailing is on point. The for registration car received as dowry, the husband being sociology teacher in a girls school, the date on the blackboard signifying that the story took place in 2018.
How men react to even slight change to their privilege. The art director and background sound should be praised so much. Every cooking scene and the later chaos was perfectly showcased.
The cursed fate of another woman in the same trap shows how nothing changes for them!
Nimisha, Suraj and the father charachter are real exemplary actors. They are living the roles.
Malayalam industry does it again, while everyone struggles with good story and execution. Here they tick all the boxes! Way to go.
Miss India (2020)
Such a bad bad film!
I don't understand why someone would want to make a film like this in 2020 featuring a national award winner Keerthi Suresh. Maybe this film with any of the male superstars would have worked with a wafer-thin storyline. I would cringe then too!
The initial few minutes of the film have too much happening. It's rushed and gives you no time to connect with the feelings of the protagonist.
Logical gaps in the film will kill half of your brain cells.
The makers need to understand the concept of women empowerment and the challenges faced by women when they venture into a man's world. Copying old superstar dialogues and giving it to a female lead sound cringe-worthy even to a staunch feminist like me!
The film lacks sense in so many levels. The unwanted explanations (Keerthi explaining SWOT analysis to MBA graduates 🙄)
The unwanted hair flicking, a catwalk with heels and blaring bgm. Not once, not twice but just too many times.
Unwanted flashy dress shows, brand placement?
How on the earth do a newly migrating family find a villa, they were in debt, right?
The Chai business has reached half of America in two months!
Americans haven't heard about tea before Manasa Samyukhta!
Google voice speech for American characters 🤢
Telugu everywhere in the USA
A big brand which has years of market standing falls because of a small allegation 🤣
Unwanted objectification of women
Cringe dialogues like 'girls are precious' every 5 minutes with a sloppy background score! I'm a girl, but I can't stand this fake idea to cash this genre.
Keerthi looks like she will faint any moment, she possibly understood she has walked into trouble! This doesn't deserve even one star. One star for collecting KSK tickets, that was a good one 🤣👌
