Kkotgwa sijak (2009)
Not a love lost, but a love found
I don't know why the rating is so low. Possibly given by straight people?
Great acting by all three main characters. Initially, it felt like a story of revenge and redemption, but the revelation at the end brought everything into focus.
Internalized homophobia makes fools of us and can mess with our minds. Jang-ha realizes that her husband had an affair with the woman she loved. Her blindness to her own fears and repressed desires and anger turned to jealousy. He loathed the other woman because he could never have his wife's heart completely. His jealousy made him impotent as a writer. Her internalized homophobia kept her from being with the one she loved. His death lead to a sort of cleansing and reconciliation. In the end, the love of each individual won.

A rare gem in Indian serials!
I love this show! It is fresh, intelligent, entertaining, quirky, and most of all, contains empowering messages for everyone. Thankfully, you won't find the usual TV serial fare here. Even the most mundane life situations are dealt with well. The lead actress, Bhumika Gurung, is the absolute life of the show and is the main reason it is worth watching. Bravo!
