Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006)
watchable
The movie portrays the married couple relationships in today's world. Like Kiran says in the movie there are problems everywhere in family. I can say that SRK and Rani's character have Gray shades whereas Priety and Abhishek come out as pure ones.
Preity and Abhishek try to remain within their limits and also try to save their marriage, but Rani and SRK are totally in breaking the marriage. Amitabh's advise that she leaves her son is right since this will give him peace and better options.
Songs and locations are good. Good background score. Rani and Priety look stunning and cameo by Kajol is attractive. Amitabh has handled his role very cool and comes out with brilliant performance. Abhishek has also done a decent job. SRK at his usual best. But, I feel that his character must have been more mature and responsible. Instead of looking after his family, he is busy in going around with his affair.
Overall not a boring movie to watch.
Razia Sultan (1983)
The Dehi Sultanate story of a woman ruler
Good songs, art direction, Direction by Mr.Kamal Amrohi. He had a flair for rich, powerful storyline movies. Have watched the movie which is totally different from the genre of Hindi movies. Especially, as told by one of the users "Ay Dil e Nadaan" song is a very melodious tune and song and beautifully pictured. Also other songs are rich with music and a treat to hear. Hema Malini has got a good character role along with Dharmendra and they do justice to their role. The sets of the movie are terrific and reminds us of the Sultantate age. It is a good movie for lovers of history and also of the times. Wonder when such powerful directors will appear in Hindi film world.
Adi Shankaracharya (1983)
A truly devotional, classical and amazing film on life of Adi Shankaracharya
Adi Shankaracharya is well known not only in India but the rest of the world. He lived around 1100 years ago and has worked greatly for the benefit of Hindu society. His life is pure and beyond question. He is an inspiration to all human beings.
G.V.Iyer has captured the mood of the times of Adi Shankara so well that we feel that we are leaving in a bygone era while watching the movie. It is taken as an art movie more than a commercial movie and is a treat to watch. Selection of actors is also good, also the locations and the narration. The language and the scenes in the movie depict the times and is not influenced by the present condition. Also there is no exaggeration which is attempted in the movie. G.V.Iyer has also taken movies like Madhvacharya, Ramanujacharya, Bhagavad Gita, Shantala, Swami Vivekananda, Hamsa Geethe to name a few. All the movies are simple, but the message and mood is definitely out of the world experience. Hope our new trend of directors will imbibe from the likes of G.V.Iyer which I feel is a real tribute to the master.
Manichitrathazhu (1993)
Best movie I have seen
Manichitratazu is a very great Classical movie which I have ever seen. The portrayal of human psychology is marvelous. The movie plot is thrilling, mystic and powerful. Fantastic performances by all actors like Mohan Lal, Shobana, Vinaya Prasad, Suresh Gopi, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu, etc. Shobana's dancing skills is excellent and also good powerful acting by her and she rightfully deserves the national award. Not boring even if watched 3 -4 times.
I am especially moved as to how the story writer has sketched this story. Really marvelous. He and the Director and the whole team deserves applause.
