If you enjoy slashers, you might like this
13 October 2022
I thought this movie was somewhat entertaining. Definitely not the best acting, but for a slasher type of movie it worked okay. A bit slow to start off, but about halfway through the killing begins and it gets better. The atmosphere was kind of creepy and if you enjoy slashers, you might like this. Overall it's a little low budget, and like I said the acting is kind of cheesy, but it had plenty of gore to satisfy fans of horror, particularly the slasher type. Also some of the scenery, such as waterfalls and rural forest areas, are nice. It satisfied my late night urge for a scary movie this Halloween season.

Sort of a "cheap" ripoff of Cape Fear
19 December 2021
I can see that the director and/or writer of this movie was definitely a fan of Cape Fear with Robert DeNiro. The shots of the bad guy standing near his classic car and the music all are taken from Cape Fear(1991), in my opinion. They even had similar relationships between the characters and the dramatic tone of the movie.

I found this to be kind of cringeworthy because Cape Fear is a great movie and it is embarrassing thinking they just made a cheaper quality, average acted movie. That being said, it wasn't a terrible movie at all, but not real good either. If it had been a more original script and not influenced so much by Cape Fear, I think I would have respected it more.

Really good but the ending is terrible
10 September 2021
I thought this was a good movie for about 3 quarters of the way through but the last quarter or so, including the ending, ruined it for me! It was really entertaining throughout the movie and kept you on the edge of your seat. Suspenseful, creepy and dark comedy and the acting was really good. The scenery was breathtaking and really nice. Takes place in Hawaii. Really had me guessing who the bad guy was and if the couple were in danger. It was so good until the last part of the movie and then takes a ridiculous turn and has a stupid ending. I was on track to rate this a 6, or even 7, but I gave it a 4 because I didn't like how it tuned out.

Not great, but not bad either
5 July 2021
This is a fairly entertaining flick. It kind of keeps you in suspense. It does have the typical annoying clichés in some parts, but overall it makes for a decent horror/suspense. Actually it's more of a suspense/mystery/drama type of movie than a horror. The acting is decent, but I did find some relationships between the characters, especially between the main actress and her brother, to be over the top and kind of ridiculous. It just seems ridiculous that her brother in the movie is so nasty to her. Seriously, he's just annoying. But the boy plays a good part, and the scenery in the movie is nice. Takes place in a rural area and has nice scenery throughout. Overall a suspenseful movie, a little bit slow burn, but still worth a watch. It's a little ridiculous to think she'd be able to just keep a lost kid in the woods, but it's just a movie.

Low budget 80's thriller with shallow plot
7 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has a really "cheap" feel to it. Almost an amateurish feel. From the beginning, it's quite boring and the plot isn't very organized. Christian Slater plays an intelligent, nerdy kid but he's quite the manipulating, cold sociopath. He's an evil kid. His parents are wealthy and seem to have a lot of dysfunction going on between them. They hire a babysitter, who has a history of mental problems, unbeknownst to them, but this woman is actually harmless and very sweet and caring. It's their son who's dangerous and mean. We see Slater tick off the school jock, and of course the jock comes looking for him. The jock's role was kind of disorganized. On one hand he seems like a nice guy, on the other he seems like a punk. The plot is quite boring and shallow. The acting isn't the best either. And this movie is mostly predictable. I'm a big fan of 80's slashers, but I still struggled to sit this one out! Very low budget, not so great acting, disorganized plot, can't connect to any of the characters(except the babysitter a little bit). Watch it if you absolutely have nothing else to watch.

A decent, low-budget 80's thriller/horror/drama flick...
20 December 2019
I was searching through lists of 80s horror/slasher movies because I am a big fan of that era's horror/slasher genre. Every now and then I like to watch those movies, especially one's that I've never seen. I found this and streamed it online and I thought it was pretty good.

Although lower budget, it is suspenseful and the little girl in it is pretty disturbed! It's almost a mix of a drama/horror/thriller movie all rolled into one. Acting is OK, especially the little girl's part. She is fairly convincing in her role as a spoiled, jealous, and downright evil kid. She seems to have a strong attachment to her father and doesn't like when others steal the attention away, let's just say! Some may find this movie dull and too low budget, but if you're a big 80s horror/slasher fan, I think you'll like it enough. It does have that made-for-TV feel a little, but it keeps you interested. It isn't necessarily the most believable plot, but how many movies are, right?! Interesting ending by the way, I think you'll like it. 6/10
