Holy Joe (1999)
Horrible writer.
Here's a lesson to the writer: Themes that are handled clumsily or are too on-the-nose can come across as preachy or insincere. Subtlety and nuance in exploring themes can make for a more impactful and thought-provoking movie.
Characters that lack depth or uniqueness can be forgettable and fail to resonate with the audience. Good writing involves creating well-rounded characters with distinct personalities and motivations.
In summary, what makes a bad movie writer is not just a lack of technical skill, but also a failure to engage the audience with a coherent, original, and emotionally resonant story. It's about striking the right balance between all the elements that make a movie memorable and satisfying.
Road House (2024)
Very realistic and entertaining
This is one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Superb acting and story. It's better than the original one. The fight scenes are more realistic. Conor was great in it. He has a huge future in acting. Obviously Jake was the star of the movie. He really outdid himself in this one. Watch it! Don't pay attention to the lame ppl giving it low scores. The direction is top-notch, with Doug Liman bringing a visceral energy to every scene. The cinematography captures the gritty essence of the Road House atmosphere, making each punch and kick feel impactful. The soundtrack complements the on-screen action perfectly, enhancing the overall experience. It's a cinematic triumph that honors the legacy of the original while setting a new benchmark for action remakes.
