The Exorcist: Believer (2023)
Nonsense, storyline
Deplorable acting, deplorable storyline. Predictable jump scares and ridiculous commentary. You can easily tell what is going to come next because we've all seen it before in horror films from the past 20 years.
I don't know why they decided to reboot this franchise. It really is just trying to make some money off the good name from the original. This has got to be, without doubt, one of the worst reboots of a franchise that you could ever come across.
The story is of two possessed children, and one of them makes it out of the possession. Then, all of a sudden we are taken to a time when Reagan is reunited with her mother Chris McNeil. And thats it.
I don't know how this past Hollywood directors control, because every single scene is a close-up and we're left trying to observe what's going on in the background. Deplorable.
KaDeWe (2021)
Ridiculous nonsense
I am a huge fan of 1920s Berlin, I have many books & i've watched tons of documentaries. I have seen every film there possibly is about 1920s Berlin.
This joke of the series not only copies stories from a different series, but you can openly see other modern cars lights & busses in todays Berlin. There is a Toyota car at the start, its just laughable.
The other laughable scenes that we see is today's zooBahnhof with modern cars driving around and we are expect to believe that it's 1920s Berlin.
Skip this altogether & wait for another production company to make something a million times better.
1883: This Is Not Your Heaven (2022)
Superior Storytelling
I was late to the show with this one, having heard about Yellowstone and it's universe, I said I would give it a shot. Well, I am truly mesmerised and literally blown away by the story. It is incredible. The production is out of this world and the story is yet to be matched. As a 40-year-old it takes me back to my childhood memories of growing up around cattle and horses. It is an incredible show and I can't wait to get into the rest of the Yellowstone universe.
I don't know how they did it for each episode but I was glued to the TV and I'm glad I paid the Paramount+ subscription, at a time when we are cancelling the saturated subscription tv market.
10/10.
Landscapers (2021)
Masterpiece
An absolute masterpiece of filming! Very dark story, brilliantly shot, The cinematography is fantastic
If it doesn't win any awards next year it will be a real shame because this hidden gem is a fantastic story. What makes it more scarier is the fact that it's actually true!
I like the way it's taking you, the viewer, outside of the box at times, showing you different perspectives from different aspects... it's a proper masterpiece!
Canada's Drag Race (2020)
Dull
I love drag race. But this is just plain dull, dull, Dull
There is no Je ne sais quoi, sparkle or even realness to this. There is something missing and we can figure it out.
Dracula (2020)
Soap opera acting
The original story of Dracula is insanely creepy. Each time they try and recreate the story they give it some success but ultimately it never reaches the height of the original
The acting in this is completely soap opera, you may as well be watching an episode of "days of our lives". The humour in it is very British, but we are watching a mystery/horror, I don't think there should be any aspect of comedy.
Do you willing to give it a miss
The Handmaid's Tale: Liars (2019)
Start of Season 3
This episode is literally the start of season three, you can actually skip the third episode until this episode because nothing actually happens.
This is a fantastic episode, lots of twists and turns. Fred gets what's coming to him, Serena has a bit of common sense & June works on her plan with the help of the other Marthas.
The Handmaid's Tale: Heroic (2019)
Very bad
It was very bad episode, One of the worst ever. they really should not have made this. Nothing happens except June goes crazy then realises she wants to get all of the kids out of Gilead. The end
Tales of the Unexpected: Run, Rabbit, Run (1982)
Great twist
I think this is the most underrated episode of tales of the unexpected, fantastic acting brilliant story and delivers the most nostalgic scenery
Gerald's Game (2017)
34 Yo Male cried watching this
I'll be honest here, I cried at the ending. Maybe it's got to do with the glass of wine I had or maybe it's a fact that this is a Powerful Film. There is a common theme in Stephen kings novels and it is great to see the movies are following on this trend. The theme is fear. When you look fear directly in the eye look at what happens.
Great movie 10/10. Fantastic acting & great picturesque location.
It (2017)
Understand Your Fears
IT is amazing!!! Full of suspense and fear.
Fear is the main point of what the film is about.
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, neighborhood kids band together to square off against the horrible Pennywise, an evil clown whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries. The kids are a group of bullied kids who come together to form the losers club.
I am a huge fan of the original movie IT (1990) and I didn't think the Hollywood industry would be able to pull of a remake of this magnitude but boy was I speechless. This is the one time a remake was able to explain the details of the film such as the famous phrase "They all float". I wont give away spoilers but you'll float too once you see this!!
There is an important message in the film that I think young people should see, even if it is to give them the life skills to live in today's world. It about fear; what It does to us and how to overcome fear. Its an amazing journey full of adventure; the movie of 2017 without a doubt.
