That '90s Show (2023)
Keep an open mind.
As a huge That 70s Show fan, I decided to start watching this show with an open mind. Yes, it's a spin-off, but you need to recognize that this is a new era with new characters. Take a chance to learn about the characters, and enjoy them for who they are. For example, I like how Jay is a Kelso but isn't a carbon copy of his dad. And how Gwen is supposed to be the "Hyde-like" character but is rebellious in her own way.
I love 90s teen movies, but in so many of them, the characters are a-holes. It's refreshing to see a show about the 90s where the teens are actually good people. If you want to watch 90s a-holes, put on Cruel Intentions.
He's All That (2021)
Obviously not as great as the original BUT...not terrible
I didn't have high expectations for this movie given it is equivalent to a straight-to-VHS movie. Also the original is one of my all time favorite movies. It's clear that Addison Rae is new to acting but she wasn't horrible. Regardless, it was a cute movie. I caught all the odes to the original movie including "I'm a f$#@ing bet?!", Matthew Lillard's dance, and "Kiss Me." Those moments alone were worth the watch.
She's All That (1999)
THE 90s Teen Movie
My cousin rented this from Blockbuster when it came out on VHS. I was only 8 years old but I fell in LOVE with Freddie Prinze Jr. After seeing this movie. It's just so nostalgic and leaves me feeling satisfied every time I watch it. Some may criticize it for being "problematic" because Laney changes her looks for a guy. But honestly it wasn't a drastic makeover and she didn't change her personality or who she really was. And Zack is overall a respectful guy. I recommend this movie!
Superman: The Animated Series (1996)
A Super Series!
I can't believe it took me this long to see Superman: The Animated Series. Thank you HBO Max! I got hooked on Superman when I started Smallville 20 years ago. I wish I watched this show first because it does such a great job introducing characters. I love the 40s style blended with the 90s. The voice actors are amazing! I love this show!
