Fool Me Once (2024)
TV viewing most foul.
Right from the off ,we are fed the line that a 98lb over made-up woman is a one person machine of retribution and destruction. No matter how big the man, not to worry. Maya will reduce him to a pile of whinging blubber with her superior strength in seconds. This is a narrative we are being force fed on a regular basis.
The lead character is without one of the most obnoxious, entitled and unrealistic I have seen in a while. The acting, especially from Keegan, is one dimensional and wooden. The rest of the cast did little better. It is about time we were given a dose of realism. No petite little women walking about taking every man she encounters, and no pathetic simps of men bowing down to said egregious females.
Give this one a wide berth.
Kin (2021)
Not "Love/Hate.
I decoded to watch this series because I really liked Love/Hate, and hoped this one could deliver. It started off slowly. But underway we established that there is a gay in every family, and some gangsters are half wits.
By the end of season one, the woman strong, man weak tendency that is all too common now in TV and film, was fully on show. Two lovesick puppy dog brothers get openly manipulated by a grieving, hysterical woman. Who they BOTH have had sexual relations with. Thus, they are easily led. It gets a little pathetic at the end, to be honest. Watching hardened gangsters bending to the whims of a woman because they want some.
Watch if there's nothing else, but Nidge and Co. Won't feel threatened.
Merry Happy Whatever (2019)
Pure drivel
We saw that Dennis Quaid was in this , and as he is usually good value, we took a chance. The shock of seeing a botoxed Quaid came first, the canned laughter second and the excruciatingly annoying characters came a close third. Easily one of the worst TV shows I've seen in a while. Give this one a wide berth.
