The Jacksons: An American Dream (1992)
Great fun! Highly recommended!
In the wake of the death of Michael Jackson, I came to love this movie even more. The acting was fantastic, especially Wylie Draper's, who played the King of Pop from 1976 to 1983 (I was shocked to learn this brilliant actor passed away a year after the movie was released). He captured Michael's sensitivity and electrifying stage presence with perfection. His dance moves during Billie Jean were pretty close to Michael's own, not to mention the other parts where he also delivered a shinning performance. I only wish they had shown more of Michael during that era so that we could have seen more of Wylie. Despite the chronological errors, this movie deserves a thumbs up! I highly recommend it to all Jackson 5/Michael Jackson fans out there. Great acting, great music, great set design. And the chemistry amongst the actors was amazing. Too bad a lot of movies aren't made like that.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)
Superb!!!! Gave me goosebumps!
I must say that this movie not only scared the hell out of me but it also made me think about the human race's demons lurking inside. That maybe, when people are so "crazy" with many types of psychosis, they are possessed. There's always a scientific explanation for everything. Mankind has not been able to really penetrate the insides of the mind as intended. I do believe in good and evil. I think what happened in the movie can really happen in real life. It's not a matter of religion on my part. There's always opposites to everything. I was so scared that I had goosebumps and went to sleep with the light on (I watched it before going to bed). The acting was absolutely fantastic. No cheesy special effects. A must see.
Hostel (2005)
The cheesiest movie of the decade....
Remember the awful, low-budget B movies we had in the seventies? Well, guys, they are back! And this one is the worst of them! I had a few laughs with it, the horror was absolutely pathetic... the acting was so absurd... some great movies are made low-budget and they turn out great.. and had not Mr. Tarrantino supported it, I think it would have been a total flop... do not count on any of the horrible actors to make it big time any time soon... at least I don't. Terrible!!!!! It wasn't that shocker as the promos made out to be. They should have said: Bring the wine... we provide the cheese... and plenty! Thank goodness we had Saw II and The Exorcism of Emily Rose to relieve us of the disappointment.
