Motor Home Massacre (2005)
Not as bad as all that!
You have to be a real horror cult follower to have enjoyed this film, and luckily there are many of us out there. Cudos to Lionsgate for supporting decent indie horror films such as this one. These people who trash indie horror films that have a campy atmosphere about them are either filmmakers who couldn't make a selling film themselves, or Mainstream Hollywood film nerds who insist that everything that comes down the pike be of Hollywood quality. Thanks God the people who actually count for something and understand there is a market for these films are the ones distributing them and not the narrow minded few that live only to trash them. Read the box before you buy or rent it. You can pretty much tell from that if it is a B movie or not, and if it is just put it back on the shelf and don't bother with it. I'm sure there are those who rent these type films knowing what they are so they can purposely watch them and then trash them. Get a friggin life. If you don't like a film, then you don't like it. Oh well, you brought it on yourself for renting or buying it in the 1st place, so don't take your idiotic frustrations out on the filmmakers or distributors by bashing it on IMDb or other sites. Jeez if you can do better then do it, and maybe, someone else can trash your film. I am a strong supporter of indie films and as far as I am concerned they all should be given a big hand for getting made and distributed. Again, look at the box at the video store and if you think it looks like a B movie, and even an idiot can tell by looking, don't get it. Good job to the entire MHM team. You did it and no matter what anyone else says that is the bottom line. BOO to the bashers!
Skunk Ape!? (2003)
Funny As hell.
Low Production value, but who cares when you're laughing yourself silly. When I saw this I first thought it was going to be horrible, but boy was I wrong. It should be given some kind of award for the funniest low budget film ever made. These guys were not only witty and ingenious with their story but they were also very original with their comedy. I almost died when I saw that Bigfoot riding back from Florida hanging on the back of their mini van. This is the funniest example of nature strikes back I have ever had the privilege to witness. Cudos to you guys. Really cool music, lots of laughs, and a mile a minute fun ride from Florida to Chi-town. Keep making these clever comedies guys and someone's gonna notice you.
Vicious (2003)
Absolute Garbage truck material, Burn it, & bury it !
Not the best CGI monster in the world but it was a fun film to watch. Brian Bremer from Pumpkinhead did a very good job as well as Savini. Tom was not as good as he was in From Dusk Til Dawn but this is not a Robert Rodriguez film either. Film Bashers beware! Nobody takes you serious. These guys spent a lot of time and effort into making this film and it does show. I am sure with a bigger budget it could have been better but that is why we call them low budget films. I would have liked to se Savini a little more hands on with the effects but I understand he is more into acting now and that's cool. The effects were not all that bad anyhow! Cudos guys. Even though the monster on the DVD cover looks nothing like the one in the film, well that's the fault of the distributor and their marketing department. Not bad though...not bad!
Ghost of the Needle (2003)
Very, clever, very scary, very good.
It was a very very very cool film...and scary too! This filmmaker really had it going on and I believe the director is also the main character in the film. Lots of good scares, some funny stuff from the guy playing the high strung agent, and some very clever plot twists. I do believe these filmmakers are destined for great things. I really want to see their new film Dead Remains, I have heard lots of very good reviews. Good luck, and Good work! I will be watching the festivals in hopes of catching a glimpse of your new film. Hopefully you guys will continue making films of this quality for a long long time to come. A+++++++++++ all the way.
Jack O'Lantern (2004)
Very scary new movie just in time for Halloween
I rented Jack O Lantern today after reading the comments on IMDb and I am inclined to agree with the guy who said the film is good. I have no idea what could be going through that other persons head. This film is obviously low budget, but they made the most of what they had. Lions Gate would not have grabbed it if it had been as bad as stated in the negative comment. Well that guy is full of hog wash, this movie was very clever and a lot of fun to watch. I really liked the make ya jump death scenes. I will not give it away but there is one scene that will absolutely knock your socks off. How anyone could think this movie is awful is mind blowing. My opinion is that for a low budget film it is very good, much better than most indie horror films that come out. Good production quality, and really scary too. Well that's my jist on it. Dale
