What to Watch: 5 Possession Movies That Get Under Our Skin (2023)
Very weak choices, sorry ;)
Talk To Me was great! In comparison, Candyman was interesting and Jennifer's Body an okay cult comedy, but overall this list would bore even the most avid horror fan. Now, I realize that movies, and especially horror movies, are subjective experiences. That being said, there are so many well directed, well written examples of interesting horror that make you feel deeply disturbed that you don't need to slog through the Exorcist III or Jennifer's body before exploring better movies.
Candyman is the exception here as the acting was spot on and it was beautiful to look at, but the story left a lot to be desired and it was... not... scary.
My quick list is below, and takes into account the feel of Talk To Me. If you haven't already, watch these movies. And please, watch them before the movies on this IMDB list.

No Time to Die (2021)
A solid finale for Craig
Though it is no Casino Royale and a notch below Skyfall, it is still a fitting finale for Daniel Craig's Bond. Yes he's older, yes the "me too!" magnifying glass makes us think twice about his relationship with a much younger woman (and rightfully so), but it's a fun, popcorn worthy movie with a passable villain.
tick, tick...BOOM! (2021)
Heart wrenching and Brilliant!
After watching tick, tick...BOOM!, it struck me that nobody but Lin Manuel Miranda could have done such a heartfelt, layered and impactful job directing the story of Jonathan Larson and the singular talent that is Andrew Garfield. In less capable hands, the back and forth story telling and complicated themes would have overpowered the film, but here Miranda finds the tone and structure with ease and let's the screenplay do the heavy lifting. Praise all around and a must see for aspiring artists of any age.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Picard is Brilliant
After just a couple of episodes, it is abundantly clear that this new Star Trek series is special. The production quality is excellent, the direction on point and the acting superb. Make no mistake, this is a Star Trek series, but it finally feels as if the subject matter is getting the respect that Gene Roddenberry's vision deserves. I'm excited to see this story play out and I am officially engaged!
