Exactly What Was Promised
14 December 2023
DW promised a goofy, early 2000s comedy with a message and I believe, overall, in landed. I enjoyed it and laughed at the slapstick goofiness and appreciated the meaningful bits. I can see and understand where it fails a little too.

As a stand alone comedy, it's a popcorn movie and doesn't overstay it's welcome with it's pacing, comedy, and plot. The general movie goer (who isn't wildly liberal) would still have a good enough time if one likes movies such as the The Hot Chick, White Chicks, Scary Movie, Wayne's World, and other such on-the-nose, wacky, dumb movies that would have a difficult time being made today. It is true that a DW fan would find the movie more enjoyable due to the cameos - which were extra hysterical if you're "in the know."

If I could only change one thing as someone who loves the idea of this comedy shedding light on an important issue, I would have either removed the ending cameo entirely, or shifted it to after credits.

The general public would also enjoy it even more if they are aware of the western nations' culture war; if the viewer is unaware, the hopeful goal of the movie would be to make people aware of conservative concerns.

That said, the movie does not ride on the backs of DW and conservative cast members; it scratches the old comedy itch millennials have, makes gen x roll their eyes, and can show gen z what comedy used to be.

What is the Truth?
7 June 2022
Despite the ruckus and waves this movie has seemingly caused, I think that before one judges it, one should give it a view. Perhaps there's a reason it's caused a fuss.. As with nearly any documentary, the writer does have a side he leans toward; however, that does not mean the information within is invalid. Both sides are interviewed and given a platform to speak "their truth." Both sides were also given a list of questions that would be asked. The difference was the answers given..or not given.

I must encourage a watch. It is a great wealth of information no matter where you fall.

One Man's Trash is Another Man's Teasure
11 July 2020
This movie is without a doubt a masterful work of hilarious garbage. The climax literally had me in tears it was so good. This movie is very dumb, and wonderfully done. I would recommend it to anyone who loves stupid movies as it aced the genre in my opinion. I would definitely say that it is self-aware. The script, acting, and plot are A1 material for those who love these type of films; it's just the right amount of stupid, and the length of the film was ideal for well-rounded entertainment. Basically, I'm in love. This is a type of movie that would best be described as if a group of college film kids received a small grant, knew they shouldn't aim for Hollywood standards, and created a well-done, fun and stupid movie. It's because of the understanding the creators had, I would say the undertaking of this film was genius. If you're looking for an actual "good" movie, this is not for you; but it is for those who enjoy low budget sci-fi films like Sharknado, Rubber, and Evolution, or a very high budget film like the Meg.

Had no expectations, still a cringe-fest.
12 March 2019
I'm not a reviewer who is coming to bash an agenda, I just found the movie as a whole to be awful. Why? The script, the directing, the acting, the forced delivery of everything. Cringe. I was getting extreme "high-budget, Disney channel movie" vibes, like Zenon Z3. This is a shame because people feel like they have to go see it to see "End Game." Also, Brie Larson is actually a good actress but this was a horrible portrayal of that talent. The only positives I have were there were a few funny moments due to 90s nostalgia and Samuel Jackson was the only tolerable, un-forced acting throughout.
