The Boys: Nothing Like It in the World (2020)
It's all downhill from here
The highlight of this show was s2 ep3. I don't think it gets better than that.
First, I feel like I'm the only one thinking this but Frenchie's actions this episode were so out of character.
I really thought the writers were going to put more emphasis on Kimiko and his relationship but seems like that has taken a side track for now.
I'm really really getting tired of Homelander and his obsession with milk. Did not complain at all in the first season but now it just feels like filler.
"Umm now what should homelander do after he enters? fix himself a snack or maybe watch some tv? nah GOT IT. Let's make him drink some milk!"
Someone on youtube had commented "homelander and MM should definetely collaborate" lol
I have no sympathy for Billy anymore. The writers have totally *butchered*his relationship with Hughie.
Becca is an idiot tbh.
The whole Maeve plotline was okay at best.
I don't know what direction this is going in
The 100: False Gods (2020)
THE TIME FOR FILLER IS OVER
This is the last season, guys.
We made it.
Seven years of the best, good and okay plots and subplots.
Now, we're three eps in and I'm seeing an half ass performance from Liz taylor and the writing's barely to the par? Eventhough I have no interest in seeing another episode I'll stick around for Bellamy's sake.
What We Do in the Shadows: Resurrection (2020)
Season 2..
After watching ep4 I'm feeling appreciative of the first two because they were bang on. It had a steady pace and good writing.Episode three was okay but the fourth one was below average. I hope to god the following episodes pick up the pace and bring the season1 magic back!
What We Do in the Shadows: The Curse (2020)
HOPE IT FINDS ITS MAGIC AGAIN
Don't get me wrong I love this show soooo much that I'll watching anything they put out but after reading some negative season 2 reviews I can't help but compare between the two seasons and without a doubt season 1 had a purpose, the jokes clicked. All in all it was the whole package. Ive watched it three times already lol. Anyway, this episode was fun and a 7/10 imo.I wish there was more going on.
Really liked the Nandor guillermo interaction at the end tho.
Intelligence (2020)
Yee-haw
5.7 rating is too low. I'm only on episode 3 and I'm pretty sure there are much much worse shows out there. You guys expect David to be like Ross in everything he's in lol.
The show is not super funny and I'm sure not all of you will find it appealing but give it a try.
I really like how they do the security camera footage bit. It's fun and different.
Anyway, it's good.
A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby (2019)
A christmas tragedy: The royal baby
The first two ones were actually enjoyable.
This one's just bad.
I know it's a christmas movie but that doesn't mean you'll not do your trilogy justice.Seriously, everyone's acting so animated and they've added two gay guys just to seem more "inclusive".
Ugh, recommend watching the first two and forgetting about this one.
Master of None (2015)
Master of-making quality content,brah-
You know when you soooo many things you need to watch, that are on your list but you never end up watching it.
Thanks to the fever I got this Sunday, I finally got on board with this show.
The first three episodes of season one are beautifully done. They each explore deep themes and they let you know how they can be different from other EASY shows.
I believe you should watch this without judging the pilot because it isn't always that cringey to be honest.
The second season on the other hand is when the show goes downhill. Hell, I couldn't even get through the first episode.
Wild (2014)
The movie has really stuck with me.
You watch so many movies mindlessly.
I can't even recall half of them but WILD has stuck with me since I first watched it in 2014.
I absolutely loveeeee how the protagionsit isn't protayed as the -I'm so good, so innocent, the world is evil-
Cheryl strayed is protayed as a normal human being who acted out when things did not make any sense and I get that. I think we all do, right?
I've read many complain about how little the movie shows her survival in the dessert and I get that but the main focus was not the journey but HER journey.
It's so cliche but I love it anyway.
Each dialogue, each thought of hers. Hell, even the quotes she writes on the
- journey registers- have so much power that it just makes you want to press pause and think about it for a minute. Know what I mean?
The ending always gets me.aaaahhhhhh.
Blue Valentine (2010)
Ryan gosling-don't let yourself go- like ever.
First of all, it was scary seeing Ryan gosling as a middle aged father with THAT hairline.oof.
Blue valentine is a-people fall in love and also fall out of love-story.
Beautifully shot? Umm
Amazing performances? Duh (eventhough not a fan of michelle williams)
Re-watchable? A big NO
But if you've gone through something like that it's something you can relate to-definetely- it's real and it's raw. They don't sugarcoat it for us.
The day to day happenings and the conversations between two people trying to make their relationship work. The frustation and the heartbreak and the anger, it's all in.
Living with Yourself (2019)
Sad to see so much potential go to waste
Dark comedy? It's neither dark nor a comedy.
Living with yourself is an- I will never get these four hours of my life back- production.
Netflix gives you Russian doll and on the other hand serves you this crap with Paul fricking Rudd. It's disappointing.
The themes are so strong and sooooo explorable but they don't do much with it. It's just paul rudd1 and paul rudd2 and so much uneccesary drama that even if you skip won't make a difference, trust me.
In the end it just leaves you feeling dumb and unsatisfied.
The wife on the other hand is so badly written. Actually, ignore that. She has literally no purpose in the story. Then there is the cliche boss, the friend who, again, do very little.
I would recommend watching something else man.
What We Do in the Shadows (2019)
Unpopular opinion: It's better than the movie
The opening credit scene alone does it for me. Vampire comedies are always a big YES for me and
What we do in the shadows ain't like your other vampire comedies. The jokes plus their delivery is what makes this an gem.
Aaaahh,,,,,,give us s2 already!!
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
It absolutely stole my heart
Jack twist and ennis delmar, two people never meant to fall in love ended up spending twenty years together.
Brokeback mountain that was just a summer job but ended up being their safe haven, their paradise.
From "listen to me, jack twist" to that teary "jack, I swear"in the end.
From "I can't believe I lost my shirt" to finding it in one of the most unexpected places.
Brokeback mountain stole my heart.
Baskets (2016)
Too sad to say goodbye.
After four seasons this show has come to an end and eventhough the reason was less views/are you kidding me,dude?/ BASKETS is an absolute gem.
Zach ain't guy from HANGOVER neither is the humor in this show cheap. It straight up has the best character developments I've ever seen along with the best potrayals of friendships, siblings and partnership.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Praise be that this show exists
Before watching any show I always read these "user reviews" but I've never bothered to write one until now because it's that good boo!
This show is a piece of inspiration. Yes, it's dark and very very relatable to what most women experience on a daily basis ( opression, being constantly underestimated by these "macho men" who think they know it all , the list goes on and on)
The irony? Gilead( the place it is based on) is ruled by a council of men and they believe destiny of women is to give birth, manage their households and n
othing more. They are deemed worthless. On the other hand, the writers and directors of the show are 60% badass women.
But seeing these handmaids having to endure so much pain and torture and still not loosing their sanity,,fighting back.Supporting each other because if they won't then nobody will.
If they can do it and fight back and demand what's theirs, we can too.
I love the fact that this show has so many layers and does not only focus on the love/drama that the handmaid (JUNE) has.
The fact that ELISABETH MOSS plays JUNE is another reason to give this show a try because honestly, nobody else could have pull off what she did.
like damn give her an oscar already!!!?
Maybe you'll love it maybe you won't but at the end of ep1 you'll be in tears and absolutely in love w NICK BLAINE.(we've all been there😝)
