Kelce (2023)
Behind the scenes
I Get it, I get why the Kelce family is so beloved. I didn't expect to enjoy a sport documentary this much and even through my knowledge about football is not very vast, I I loved hearing and seeing the brothers love and passion for football, Jason talking about retirement and the brother vs brother at the Superbowl. I was in my feelings. The production is another aspect I thoroughly loved. It was masterfully put together and it made the story/message Jason was trying to protray so much more raw and authentic. Hats off to Jason Kelce for always showing up and showing out as a husband and father, while still being a notably great football player.
The Hating Game (2021)
Lovely movie
I enjoyed this movie from start to finish. What's there not to like? It was entertaining, funny and cheeky. A bit cringe at one or two occasions and I wasn't too pleased by the ending, it was to sudden and thought they should have expounded a bit more on it. But that's probably a thing with these types of movies, so why I'm complaining. I heard there's a book with the same title, which I've never read so I can't reference or compare it to the book. But because of this movie I oddly wouldn't mind reading it. I usually trash talk these types of movies, but sometimes what I need is an easy flowing, fun romantic comedy like this.
The Whale (2022)
The whale
It's been a while since a movie grabbed my attention like this! It was raw and portrayed pretty realistically how someone can eat themselves stupid when you've hit bottom barrel, and then get slapped with the realization that you are the only one to blame for the mess you're in years later, because your circumstance at the time didn't leave you to much options. All the actors did a phenomenal job, especially the guy who played Charlie.
It was a bit annoying that Liz the nurse was still giving Charlie junk food even though he couldn't even stand on his own two feet. His daughter was inferiorating, but relatable at times and church boy was an interesting character.
I guess I'll let it slide because everyone will have their unique experience and opinions, but it was a bit annoying that they made Christianity about being solely being about the belief that the world is going to end. Seemed to be the only aspect they showcased... Typical but it tied well with the plotline.
The Good Wife (2009)
My review based on S1 - S3 episode 10 only
First of all, I love that this show never shied away from realistically portraying human beings. I stopped watching after season 3, episode 10 because I didn't like the direction they were taking the characters, that me as a viewer had no interest in. Season 1 was perfect! But I felt the episodes becoming duller and that the judicial cases at times had no substance to them or left me unmoved. The writers were very successful in creating well balanced characters, well timed comedic dialogues with a perfect blend of angsty storylines.
It should be noted that this show is not for the faint of heart - the politics, the legal backstabbing and the bed hopping got to my nerves. The episodes that had less politics and were more judicially motivated were the best episodes, In my opinion.
