Lost in Space (2018)
A reboot that worked
I only ever seen a couple episodes of the original, but I remember reading the comics as a kid, so I really find myself glued to the couch watching this. The main characters acting is too notch, I found some of the other acting to fall short. The story line, and modern special effects have really giving the series the boost it needed.
The Mandalorian (2019)
Not one bad thing to say.
What a great show!!! If you are a Star Wars fan, you need to jump on this ride. I am glued, the acting, the story history, baby Yoda what else could you ask for??? Did I mention Baby Yoda???
See (2019)
What an original idea!!!
I went into this show knowing very little except for what the plot read. Showing yet again the adaptability of the human race. I only give it an 8 simply because some of the actors fall short. I find some of the dialogue becomes drawn on where I stop paying attention simply because the conversation has turned into rambling. The fighting, and blind living is made very believable that man could adapt, and survive in these circumstances.
In the Tall Grass (2019)
Was almost getting scared it wouldn't end.
I am a big Stephen King fan, I haven't read the book, but I'm sure in usual Stephen King fashion ot is a way better story. In the beginning I was really enjoying it had a good mood to it. After awhile though I was just waiting for it to end. It was drug on, and repetitive. It would probably have been a little more intense if the people from the reat of the abandoned vehicles had been in there running around crazy also. I was really torn between 3, and 5. I went with 5 simply because I respect budget saving which only having to film in a field near an old church is about as cheap as you can go. Not much for CGI is nice to see these days. And the actors were solid. I really hope to see little Jr. in more scary films he has real potential, and is really good at expressing "I lost my mommy, and daddy" feeling
The Mummy (2017)
Proof that a good actor doesn't help a poor script.
Tom were you drunk when you agreed to this script? Movie seemed to have a decent budget, but I felt like I was watching a B grade film at some points. Even Tom's skill couldn't bring his character to life enough to make the movie enjoyable. I almost got that Queen of the Damned feeling. Almost felt like even the director wanted to get it over, and done with.
The First Purge (2018)
Why do they have to ruin a good thing??
I love the movies, have been really enjoying the TV series. Finally got around to watching this, and what a disappointment!! I was expecting a great movie, and in the end felt like I had watched an inner city movie. It totally took away from the feeling the other Purge movies left you with. The only reason I gave it a 6 the acting was ok, but the script was garbage. I couldn't tell in the end of I had watched a purge movie or Doe Boy goes trick or treating.
The Snowman (2017)
It wasn't half bad.
Not really sure why a bunch of people are throwing this under the bus. It was actually quite well done, left us wondering right up until the end how the boy tied in. The idea of a person going around murdering in that fashion was really cool, considering the wife, and I watch lots of crime shows we were quite gripped by it. It was a good story, but it could have used a little more effort from the actors. It seemed like they were all kind of existing in there rolls but not giving there all. The scenic beauty of Norway almost made me want to travel there. Had us questioning the smoking by laws in Norway though, was it there is not by law or the lead character just didn't give a damn where he lit up? In all I'm giving it a 5 if you're into crime thrillers it's worth the watch.
Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)
Well not really sure about this one.
Ok for starters if you want a druon movie that goes from omg when's the good stuff coming, and than they cram all the crazy stuff into the last 45 mins of the movie this is for you. The only thing that kept me from falling asleep throug the first half was Vince Vaughn attempting to act like a tough guy unfortunately the phrase "Put your ear muffs on." Kept popping into my head. I'm not sure why everyone has given it such high reviews, must be a bunch of kids who get excited over violence writing them. The ending was horrible, the story was blah, in the end I give it a 4.

What Happened to Monday (2017)
Actually really enjoyed it!!!
You know I was quite impressed with this movie, the acting was good. The story was original, and she really hit the nail on the head when it came to playing 7 different rolls, since the sisters were all very different from one another. The dinner scene was really well done. It kept the wife, and I on the edge of our seats. If you can't find something to watch, and are looking for something to entertain you for an hour or so you can't go wrong with this choice. I'm giving it a 7 simply because it didn't leave me wanting more, instead kind of hoping the story ends there. To do a sequel would be leading a good thing right to it's death. Defiantly watch it though you will be happy.
Happy Death Day (2017)
I think my IQ dropped
It was horrible, I still can't believe I wasted time watching this. Another question is how did this make it to the theater? It's like one of those choose your own path books you used to get at the library in primary school, but the person before you ripped all the paths out but 3, and all were bad. Don't waste your time!!
Cabin 28 (2017)
Wow!!! Bloody crazy!!!
Now I'm giving this a six simply because the acting could have used a little more. Otherwise the movie was really done well, and I can honestly say only one other movie has made me shut it off, and come back to it just because as a parent I couldn't imagine going through that. So I had to take a break. Like I said the acting could have used a little more effort the mom was convincing but the rest of the actors were sub par. The only thing really keeping you going was the fact that it is based on a true story, and your mind keeps putting yourself in this poor families shoes. Being from Canada, and that I was born 78, I was unaware of the case until I seen the movie. It will put any parent on the edge of there seat.
Jeepers Creepers 3 (2017)
Jeepers what a waist
Now the first one was good, the 2nd one left me wondering "Why?" The 3rd one was what I expected so I wasn't very depressed when I got into it. Really what was the point though. It was like reviving the dead horse than killing it again. I'm not going to waste much time on this. If you want just senseless killing, and not really any kind of story this is a good one time watch. If you're looking for the next great horror flick, don't waste your time. I was at least hoping that it would add something to the franchise, but instead I found myself fighting to stay interested in it. Like my wife, and I agreed it was OK, wouldn't watch it again.
