The Kardashians (2022)
The True Victims
The old show (Keeping Up With the Kardashians) had an air of comedy to it, I'm not saying it was good for a second, but it was slightly tolerable. However, the new show is something else and is just self-victimised absurdity. It feels like an SNL skit but even worse writing. They all appear miserable and unfulfilled, and completely out of touch with reality. Any "backlash" they receive they avoid accountability, and double down on their own biases and anyone that disagrees with them is a "hater". They just all come across as delusional, and making the tone of the show so heavy and dramatic just seems ridiculous. So, as the famous like goes "Kim, people are dying".
The Politician (2019)
A typical Murphy production
It started well and the development of the characters was perfectly paced and then everything went south, the core point of the series changed and it no longer felt like it knew where it was going. It felt like 4 seasons being crammed into one, so it meant that the characters fell flat and we also missed out on a chance to fall in love with them. By the end it just feels so ridiculous it could be a later season AHS finale. Such a waste because the cast is fantastic and it started so well, and the point of Payton's story was that he was drowned by his own ambition. Feels like the writers should have taken note.
You, Me and Him (2017)
What was the point?
There's no chemistry from the start between the "couple" and it all goes down hill from there. It definitely isn't a comedy either, more a tragedy. Can't believe such talented actors would have somehow consented to be in this mess.
