Bo Burnham: Inside (2021 TV Special)
10/10
Healing the world with comedy.
2 September 2021
I'm probably late to this film's hype train as I've seen plenty of posts about it on social media from which it has garnered its own fan base. But I gotta admit this man has earned my respect the further I've explored his work.

'Inside' documents one year of its creator, Burnham himself, stuck in quarantine and trying to cope with his increasing mental turmoil as he writes and records musical comedy sketches about the world, the internet and his own personal struggles.

The reason it is so brilliant is because of how cleverly interwoven the funny and the serious are, and Bo is a master at doing that.

His style of humor may not resonate with everyone, but seeing how well it has been received especially by the younger generation, you could say he's almost a spokesperson for the people in this virtual day and age, and his bare sincerity and relatability are what make him so utterly sympathetic.

Kommissar Rex (1994–2004)

This show was my childhood
17 July 2021
I was flipping through TV channels the other day looking for something to watch and happened upon one that was broadcasting Rex. You couldn't imagine how nostalgic I was. Rewatching the first seasons (The ones with Moser were on another level, and Brandtner was good too) brought back so many memories. Not only do I still love it because of my connection to it from when I was younger, but because it simply has its heart in the right place. The relationships are genuine, especially the one between the dog and its owner. It has humor, it has crime, it has been crafted with love, it's brilliant. Would take it over any Netflix show that's airing today.
