City Homicide (2006–2011)
10/10
Possibly the best Australian drama in years
20 November 2007
When I started watching this show I was very sceptical of what I was going to fine. I haven't watched virtually any Australian shows in recent years, as almost all that are touted as drama are soaps instead (e.g. All Saints, Blue Heelers).

By the end of the first episode I was in love with this show. Having grown up hearing stories about the police force from people who know, this show seems to represent the realism that is sorely lacking in most other cop shows.

The acting is terrific, the humour is spot on and the gore level is just right. The cases are interesting and the way they are presented are sometimes destined to break your heart. This show sticks to drama instead of swaying into melodrama.

This is a must watch.

Supernatural (2005–2020)
10/10
One of my favourite shows
16 July 2006
I wasn't sure whether I wanted to watch this show when it started, as I'm not a big fan of horror, and a wimp when it comes to watching it.

But, I gave it a go, and it's way more then a show about the supernatural.

It's a show that is very much about the characters, Sam and Dean Winchester, and their relationship with their father. The back story is well plotted, both actors are fantastic, and the overriding story arc is very good.

It's quickly become one of my favourite shows, and Dean is my favourite character. His combination of quick wit and smart aleck comments with his underlying vulnerability makes him a very interesting character.
