The Crown: Mou Mou (2022)
Brilliant episode
What a beautiful cinematic episode. I was positively surprised, it caught my full attention and drove me into the world of Mou Mou and his attempts to climb up the social ladder of the privileged condescending white society.
The chemistry beween the characters, especially with Sydney, whether it was the duke or Mou Mou, was charming and warm, they made me care about all of them.
I am writing this review to express how this episode has been my favorite this season, and the acting cast, especially Elizabeth as Diana, are all talented and deserve recognition and praise. Hats off to the director and the working staff, I would have enjoyed this as a stand alone movie as well. Bravo!
Mulan (2020)
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
Growing up as a girl in the Middle East is a nightmare; but when I was young, Mulan taught me that if I work hard, if I develop problem solving skills, and if I embrace my unfeminine treats, I'll be alright, and that I'll eventually find myself. Just because I don't fit into a certain expected category doesn't mean I should!
It taught me a father-daughter relationship is at its best when the father loves and is honored by his daughter no matter what society or traditions dictate.
What is this movie trying to teach? You should be born gifted in order to break out of the certain mold you're expected to fit in? We have duty to the system..? Women can be masculine and man up and compete with men? China has beautiful landscapes?
I'm not even going to talk about anything else.
Nice virtue signaling attempt, but you failed and ruined a brilliant story with so much potential.
