It has no right to be this good
16 March 2023
It's been years since I've seen a good children's animated movie. Most are produced by Disney or Pixar, or Illumination, and almost all of their products are safe, visually bland, uninteresting, etc. But what DreamWorks achieves with Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is something truly special. It has a charming story with charming characters, an art style that is beautiful and unique, antagonists that are likable and diverse.

Every character has some type of arc. None of the characters stayed the same when compared to the start of the movie. Puss goes from being arrogant and self-centered to caring and selfless. This is a product of good script writing, and something we rarely see in todays cinema.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is simply a good movie, not just a good children's movie. There's little to critique because you can tell how much care they put into this movie. I strongly recommend giving it a watch, as it was one of the best movies of the year.

Is It Just Me Or....
13 March 2023
This film has been called a modern masterpiece, it has overwhelmingly positive reviews, it won 7 OSCARS. And the only thing I can say about this movie is that it was okay. I've seen a lot of reviews giving it a 1/10, which just isn't fair because there are some redeeming factors. The fights scenes were pretty cool, the visuals are interesting (nothing outstanding), and the acting is decent, but no Oscar-winning performances in my opinion.

What makes this movie a disappointment for me was that I was left bored and emotionless. I couldn't take this movie and its characters serious. It's just so goofy and weird and then it tries to go all serious at the end. Maybe it's not for me, because it's definitely a film not for everyone.

This movie was just a disappointment for me. For a movie to be called a masterpiece, for it to win 7 Oscars, it has to be perfect or at least close to perfect. But the plot was boring and it held no tension. It's goofy tone removed all the seriousness at the end. Everything Everywhere All at Once was average, and it's definitely a movie not worth 7 Oscars.

A Must Watch WW1 Film
2 December 2022
WW1 doesn't get the recognition it truly deserves. It's an incredibly brutal war, and All Quiet on the Western Front does a great job at portraying the brutality and the monotony of WW1. What I love most about this movie is that it focuses on one character, and you get to see him slowly transform as a person. Not many war films take this approach where it's essentially a character study.

Although the film is brutal with its subject matter, it's a great watch cinematically. Every scene is like an art piece; you can tell there was much effort put into every scene. The cinematography alone is enough to warrant a watch.

All Quiet on the Western Front is one of the better war films in recent time. It's cinematic, realistic, engaging and emotional. It's a film that I won't forget in a while. Out of all the recent Netflix originals that came out this year, All Quiet on the Western Front should be a film on top of everybody's list.

Monster (2022–2024)

As close to realism as it can get
19 October 2022
Out of the numerous adaptations of the Jeffrey Dahmer case, Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story tells the story best. It reenacts the story as realistically as it can possibly get. It lays off on the gore and violence, and focuses more on his relationships and personal life. But even though it isn't as gore as it can possibly get, it still can be difficult to watch for some.

The show does a great job at creating an unsettling atmosphere, using a lot of yellows in its cinematography. The score is also very melancholic and uneasy and it just adds more to the atmosphere. The acting is also very well done, making it quite believable.

Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is an eerie and believable adaptation of one of the most horrific cases in history. It's well crafted and does a great job at reenacting true events. It is worth a watch, but it may not be for everybody because this is the Jeffrey Dahmer story.

The Terminal List (2022– )
7/10
A Simple Action Revenge Thriller
28 July 2022
The Terminal List may not be the most original military action-thriller, but it certainly got the genre right. The action pieces are all well directed and acted making it entertaining to watch. I've seen many critique how boring this show is, but I find that it has a good balance between intense action and slow-paced drama.

The story is intriguing enough to keep you interested and it's always developing each episode to not bore the audience. There is a lot happening in the story which can make The Terminal List a little confusing at times (at least for me). But overall it's pretty simplistic and fun.

And about the acting being terrible, I really don't understand what people are seeing. I think Chris Pratt does a great job at playing grizzled war vet looking for revenge. The acting overall by every actor was excellent, certainly no complaints from me.

The Terminal List is a solid adaption that I think is worth giving a shot. It may not be for everybody, but it's good entertainment and considering what's coming out right now, it's definitely worth a try.

Overhyped and Overrated
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Spider-Man: No Way Home had the potential to be great, but everything didn't really mesh together as it should've. Tobey and Maguire's Spider-Mans didn't really feel like the same versions from all those years ago, or at least that's what I feel. And the villains were all meh except for Doc Oc and Green Goblin, but even these villains weren't as great as they were before. Everything feels watered down in my opinion, and the stakes were just not high enough for me to take enough interest.

There are some nice nostalgia scenes and good action pieces, but that's pretty much it. The acting feels cheesy most of the time and there's way too much crying, some people may not mind the amount of crying, but they are really trying to exaggerate the emotions.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is a decent movie, 5/10 - 6/10; nowhere near an 8.5. It had the concept but not the execution. It all seems more like nostalgia-bait more than anything. It is worth a watch at the end of the day, so I'd give it a recommendation to all the Spider-Man fans.

Free Guy (2021)
7/10
A simplistic movie that aims to entertain
27 October 2021
Free Guy is a simple movie that aims to entertain, and to entertain it did. Free Guy knows what type of film it is; it tells a fun and heart-warming story with likable characters. Guy is extremely likable, which isn't surprising considering Ryan Reynolds is playing him. The CGI is good and the action is over the top, just like a video game. And there's some great cameos and fan service.

Free Guy does have its flaws. You can tell that the screenwriters aren't gamers, so there's going to be some scenes and plot devices that don't make much sense. And the film does have its fair share of cringe moments.

Overall, I found Free Guy to be fun, entertaining, and likable. This is a movie that will most likely put a smile on your face, so I'd give it a strong recommendation to anyone who's interested in watching it.

Fun and Goofy, but Technically Flawed
26 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Suicide Squad is definitely better than Suicide Squad (2016), but not by a large margin. Both movies suffer similar issues, which I find disappointing considering they had a second chance correcting the first movie with a reboot. The Suicide Squad is horribly paced. It starts off incredibly fast, then slows down for about an hour, then slowly ramps up again. The second act is the slowest, and it also happens to be the worst act too. The main plot of The Suicide Squad gets completely forgotten and it shifts to a completely different plot. This chunk of the film is just really off-putting for some reason, and honestly, it really ruins the movie for me.

But I do like how the film isn't taking itself seriously, with goofy characters in goofy costumes, with goofy jokes. With a film like this, you really can't create a serious atmosphere, so at least it's self-aware and light-hearted. There's also a bunch of really likable characters that's hard not to grow attached to; like King Shark and Poke-a-dot man.

The Suicide Squad is a funny, light-hearted movie, but it suffers from a lot of technical issues, like, disconnected editing, uneven pacing, and a script that completely forgets its main plot for about an hour. I was really hoping for this movie to be great, but it ended up being okay. But the future of the DCEU does look somewhat promising, so I'm still interested for what's next in this extended universe.

Dune (2021)
10/10
A movie that will keep you captivated
22 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
With Denis Villeneuve being my favorite director, I had high expectations for this film, and unsurprisingly, it more than delivered. It had Villeneuve's trademark cinematography, lighting, music, and pacing. This film may not be to everybody's taste; it doesn't have crazy amounts of action, and the movie is rather slow. But even though it's slow and not action packed, the film always kept me hooked with every scene.

The world, atmosphere, characters, and creativity is what kept my eyes glued to the screen during its 2.5 hour long runtime. And when things started to get rolling, it was pretty much impossible not to be captivated. And there are some issues with the film, like Josh Brolin's character being completely forgot half-way through, and how the last 20 minutes of the movie took a little too long; but those issue barely ruin the experience.

Dune is an overall amazing experience. It'll keep your eyes glued with its beautiful cinematography and lighting. The story is also great and it'll only get better with part two. And with every Denis Villeneuve film, you're gonna wanna experience Dune with the big screen.

Just Doesn't Work
16 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Don't Breathe (2016) was a surprise hit and it ended in a satisfying way, so there was no need to make a sequel, but here we are in 2021. Don't Breathe 2 is nothing compared to the first. It does have Stephen Lang and the extreme gore, but it misses what made Don't Breathe (2016) so good: the perspective. The first movie was in the perspective of the robbers, making the film more intense because he's an unpredictable antagonist. In this film, he's the protagonist, which doesn't add to the intensity at all. Everything's reversed, and it just doesn't work because of that.

The story and its characters also don't work. There's an addition of a new character, Phoenix, who I couldn't care less about. The story is built around her, which is possibly the worst decision you could make, considering she's the least interesting character in the movie. But when the movie does shift from Phoenix to Stephen Lang, it does get better. The action and gore is there, but once again, the intensity is still missing because I had no personal investment with the characters.

This movie is just meh. The characters were overall terrible, except the blind man, and the story holds no personal attachment. This film is a pass from me, unless you like the extreme violence or Stephen Lang.

Squid Game (2021– )
9/10
More Than Surpasses the Hype
16 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's been so long since Netflix produced something that's actually good. It's not really surprising that Squid Game arrived from the Eastern cinema, considering the Western Cinema has been dry out of ideas for years at this point. Squid Game is just such a breath of fresh air in 2021, because so far in this year all we got was trash.

This show is just so compelling in almost every way. The characters all have differing personalities and ideas and motives, making each character likable in their own different ways. There's no such thing as a "perfect" character in Squid Game; everybody is trying to win and they'll give up their own morals to survive. This show focuses on the dark sides of humanity, and it doesn't shy away of what people can do to each other, and that's why this show is so refreshing, because we have realistic people doing realistic things.

The overall concept of Squid Game isn't really all that innovative, (a battle royal-ish game being spectated by privileged rich people), but everything around it is innovative. The set design is just fantastic. It's colorful with a bright aesthetic which contrasts well with the dark themes. The directing and acting is also really solid all around, and the pacing is perfect. The only issue being a subplot that ends up leading to nothing.

Squid Game is an overall masterpiece of a show. It's extremely thrilling and it'll pull your heartstrings. It's an easy show to get emotionally invested in, and it ends in the most dramatic way possible. This is a show that I'd recommend to anyone and I really hope they make a second season, because this is the content that we need in dry times like these.

A pretentious shell of a film
20 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think this movie cares too much about its visuals rather than its story. This film is great from a cinematic standpoint, but it lacks a story that's entertaining or meaningful. This film felt so incredibly pretentious because it cared more about long shots than a plot that actually holds value. And paired with its extremely slow pacing, it makes sense why this film wouldn't be enjoyable. I assume people came for an adventurous, simplistic knight tale, but it's just one long hollow art piece.

This film is also unnecessarily confusing. It explains literally nothing, and of course it had to have an ambiguous ending. I swear, too many films think they're smart because they have an ambiguous ending, but it just comes off unnecessary and even more pretentious. I guess the only good thing about this movie is the acting. And although this movie has good acting, it still doesn't matter because this film is emotionless and bland.

I was so excited to watch The Green Knight, thinking it was going to be the best movie of this dull year. Unfortunately, this movie has an expressive shell, but is ultimately hollow. This isn't the worst movie of the year, but it certainly is one of the most boring. I'd give it a hard pass to anyone who even considers watching this; it's a 2 hour modern art piece.

Jungle Cruise (2021)
6/10
An unremarkably entertaining movie
1 August 2021
There's nothing really exceptional about Jungle Cruise. It tells a safe and simplistic story that's also fairly predictable. In honesty, I wasn't expecting the story to be anything special considering its's a Disney film. What really carries this movie are its characters. Dwayne Johnson knows how to play a charismatic character, and in this film, he does a great job. It's hard not to like Frank in this film, he actually outshines all the other characters. Lily and Macgregor are just really unremarkable. I don't know if they're supposed to be stereotypes or parodies, but they seem quite one-dimensional with their character traits and development.

One of the biggest flaws with this movie are its visuals. There's way too much CGI, and it's very noticeable. The CGI itself wasn't particularly bad, it's just that there was too much of it. And the pacing was a little off. There were times where the story should be ramping up, but it just slowed down.

Jungle Cruise takes a lot of inspiration from other movies but it doesn't reach the same level as those movies. Jungle Cruise isn't a bad movie, it just plays everything in the most safe and predictable way possible. You can certainly find entertainment out of Jungle Cruise, but don't expect anything too special out of this movie.

I miss the old F&F
30 July 2021
I've heard so many jokes about the physics in F9 thinking they were just overexaggerating, but no, it's really that bad. F&F is known for going crazier and crazier with each entry, but I think it's gone too far for its own good. Not one action scene entertained me; none of the scenes were creative, they were just dumb. Some may find enjoyment from how ridiculous it is, but I was just left unimpressed.

And the story was exactly the same as the last few F&F movies. They're so similar that you can literally predict what happens if you've recently watched F8 or F7. F&F has gone so far from it's roots that I've given up on the franchise. At least give one spin-off for the car guys and OG fans, maybe something similar to the first three F&Fs, it'll hurt nobody, Universal.

This movie is just really bad. Tons of plot holes, ridiculous action scenes, and a story that disgraces what F&F used to be. As a huge and longtime fan of the franchise, I have now lost faith. This film is a disgrace, and I refuse to believe that John Cena is Dominic Toretto's brother.

Loki (2021–2023)
8/10
Was great for the most part
28 July 2021
I think Loki was quite a decent show for the most part. There are some issues here and there, but overall I think it was well crafted. One of the biggest issues is actually Loki himself, which is quite ironic. This version of Loki is absolutely terrible. He's not that smart or witty, nor cunning or strong. There were so many times while I was watching where I said "Isn't Loki a god?". He's the god of mischief, but he seems just as ordinary as the people who work at the TVA. He also seems like a side character within his own show.

But this show does get a lot of things right. The pacing was really good; I've seen a lot of people say that it was slow, but I think the only slow episode was the last episode. The dialogue was good and the chemistry between Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston was great. And the production quality was insane. The sets and lighting were top notch. This show has a really cool aesthetic to it, and you can see how much work they put into it. And the story was pretty good. It was creative and interesting to watch. I was for the most part entertained, and I liked how this show added upon the MCU lore.

I don't think this show deserves a 1 or a 2 because this version of Loki was terrible; one issue like that can't overshadow all the great things this show did. It set up an interesting story with a creative and aesthetic world. Really, the only problems being the characters, and that's why this show is an 8 and not a 10.

Jolt (2021)
3/10
One of the worst films of the year
28 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Jolt is exactly what's wrong with modern films. It's bland, uninspired, predictable, and horribly written. This movie didn't originally start terrible, it gradually progressed into a predictable mess. Wow! So shocking that her lover was not murdered and he turns out to be evil; completely didn't see that from a mile away. I knew exactly how this movie would pan out because I've seen this type of movie dozens of times.

And the script is an absolute tragedy. How can you take a script seriously when the protagonist literally climbs to the top of a skyscraper and still has energy to fight. She also climbs it in heels with a bag of C4. This is some really bad writing.

Other than the terrible script, everything else is just subpar. This movie doesn't excel in anything. There really is no reason to watch Jolt; you're not getting a good story and you're not getting good action. This film isn't realistic nor entertaining; easily one of the worst movies of the year.

Cruella (2021)
7/10
Pleasantly Surprised
27 July 2021
Disney has gained a reputation for reusing old source material with their new terrible remakes. So naturally I thought Cruella would be like all the other Disney remakes, but I'm glad to say that they finally did something right this time. This film is fun to watch and that's exactly what a Disney movie should be. It's lighthearted, well acted, and easy to follow.

I'd say what really sold this movie was Emma Stone's acting. Her Cruella personality was not only well acted, but it was fun to watch on screen. She's entertaining and unpredictable, which is exactly why I like this character so much. The supporting characters are also pretty likable; they're criminals and thieves yet we still support these characters because they are that likable.

A big part about this film is fashion, and it delivers on that. The costume designs were creative and well made, so I'm expecting at least one Oscar out of this movie. The technical parts of this movie, like the directing, cinematography, and editing were also pretty good.

This film gets a lot of things right. It offers a fun story with fun characters. I'm glad that this movie surprised me because Disney was on such a cold streak. If you want to watch this movie but don't want to pay extra, then I'd say wait for this to be free on Disney+, but if you're really into it, then go right ahead because this movie is good enough to pay the extra money.

Pig (I) (2021)
7/10
It may seem strange, but it's certainly worth watching
26 July 2021
Nicolas Cage is known for being in some pretty wacky movies, so when I learnt about the plot of Pig, I immediately assumed it'd be some crazy film to laugh at. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by this film; it isn't a 9/10 or a 10/10 film, it certainly is good, but it's not a masterpiece as some may say. It's an emotional story and it achieves that, especially by the end of the film.

What makes it so good is Nicolas Cage's acting. So many people underrate Cage's acting skills, but the guy literally won an Oscar. His performance here is legendary, and I don't care what anyone else says, it's Oscar-worthy. The acting in general is also very impressive.

I found this film to also be very well paced. It's extremely consistent and I feel like the runtime is perfect. The cinematography and mood of the film really work well together here: creating a sad and somewhat hopeless atmosphere. The makeup and costume design is also great.

This is a simple film, it achieves what it has to achieve. It's not supposed to give you this mind-blowing experience. This movie was very well made and it took itself seriously, so don't be turned off thinking that this is going to be some weird Nic Cage flick. Everyone should give this film a shot; it's more than just Nicolas Cage trying to find his pig.

Goofy and lighthearted with a paper thin story
24 July 2021
For every positive in this movie there's at least one negative. There's a lot of acting talent but the performances were mediocre to okay. There's great action and music but the story and characters were paper thin. And for whatever reason, this film doesn't want to give any exposition about anything.

They tried to set up this underground hitman/hitwoman world, but they executed it so poorly. Once again, the exposition was lacking to give any depth to its plot devices. The film also spent so much of its time with actions scenes that it couldn't develop anything that could've been interesting. But, since this is an action movie, how well does it do in terms of its action? I would say pretty decent. It's not the best I've seen, but there are quite a few creative and well choreographed fight scenes. The music and colors also help a lot with adding a fun and lighthearted tone.

But with all its positives I've just mentioned, my favorite part had to be the Porsche 944. For some reason, action movies rarely add any cool cars, and if they do, its either a muscle car or a supercar. The Porsche 944 is such an underrated beauty, so I love that they added something cool for the car guys. In fact, I'm raising this movie to a 6 just because of that.

Gunpowder Milkshake has a fun and goofy tone, but has close to zero depth. This is a film that you should watch just for the entertainment. It's certainly above average in the genre, so I'll it a 6/10 as its final score.

Tried something different and didn't work so well
22 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Conjuring series is known for having really solid horror flicks, but this ain't it. The Conjuring 1 and 2 had greatly paced stories that were intense and scary; whereas The Conjuring 3 has none of those qualities. I found this film to be the least bit scary. The atmosphere, settings, camera work and cinematography were nothing like the first two, and because of that, it doesn't really feel like a Conjuring movie.

The story is radically different. It doesn't feature a creepy house with a scary demon; this story is more like a wild goose-chase featuring someone's weird aunt. I don't know why they went in this direction when it clearly worked so well before, maybe it was the director's or screenwriters' choice, but it certainly wasn't a good one.

As I've already mentioned, the film isn't really that intense or scary. I found myself just casually watching the movie, not white knuckling or anticipating something scary. This is the least scary movie of the franchise, which is unfortunate because this franchise is known for being absolutely terrifying.

This film does get some things right, but its lack of scares brings down this movie. If they do make another one, then they better go back to its old roots. They tried something different and it didn't work, time to go back to James Wan and hopefully give it another try.

Mortal Kombat (2021)
4/10
Give me a movie about the first 10 minutes
15 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The best part about this movie are its first 10 minutes. If they just gave us that then I'm sure we could've gotten the best video-game movie adaptions ever. It would've been way better than what we actually got. Imagine, a Hiroyuki Sanada Scorpion vs Sub-Zero in a samurai era Japan; instead we get a generic movie with a generic plot about generic characters. I came for Scorpion and Sub-Zero and I only got Sub-Zero. I don't care about Cole Young, and it doesn't help that he's the most boring character in the movie.

But, if you only care about brutal fights scenes, then you'll somewhat get what you came for. There are plenty of fights, but arguably they're not that well done. The choreography and creativity is there, but the editing is hot garbage. It's so hard to tell what's going on when the camera is jumping every half a second. And with all the fight scenes, there are like two fatality-like kills. This film is rated R and it's called Mortal Kombat, but you only add two fatalities, come on.

The story isn't that good, most of the character are bland to okay, the fight scenes are underwhelming, and the visuals are decent. I think we could've gotten something way better, maybe my expectations were too high for a film like this. I got disappointed because they couldn't even get the most important things right. I'd only recommend this film for Mortal Kombat fans, because if you came for any specific thing, then you're guaranteed to be disappointed.

The ending just didn't work...
14 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The film started off really good: I would say the first and second acts were great, but the third act lowered the film. The ending is supposed to make you feel nihilistic or unsatisfied, and it does achieve that, but it doesn't work all that well. The killer is still out there and the case is closed. The ending would've been fine if Denzel Washington's character didn't trick Jim into believing they actually got the killer. It makes no sense; if he was actually a good/experienced cop, then he wouldn't have made such a dangerous decision.

Other than the undesirable ending, the film does great job at being a crime thriller. It's extremely intense, it always keeps you guessing, and it's very well paced. I was never bored during the movie because the intense scenes were so well paced apart. The directing and cinematography were also pretty good, and the main performances were decent.

The Little Things ended up feeling pointless because of its ending. I generally like movies that end in an undesirable or sad way, but it has to work within the story, but in here, it doesn't. This movie is good on a technical level, and it does a pretty good job at being a crime thriller. In my opinion, this movie is slightly above average, so I'll give it a 6.

Decent sequel, but not nearly as good as the first
11 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
With the success of the first movie, it's inevitable that a sequel will be in the works. I was never expecting the sequel to be better than the original, so at least I wasn't disappointed. A Quiet Place Part 2 takes a completely different tone than the first, and that tone switch ruins the fear and intensity. The first film barely showed the monsters, and when they did, it was always dark. Doing this creates a mysteriousness that then results in fear, because we fear what we don't know, and in this case, we fear what we can barely see. In A quiet Place Part 2, the monsters are in full view, and sure, the monsters are scary looking, but it wasn't nearly as scary as the first movie. So the tones are completely different, but I don't think this new tone helped in the fear factor.

Aside from the film being less scary, the characters became more stupid. Nearly every character makes a dumb decision at one point in the film. It's almost as if they didn't live in this apocalypse for over a year. But what's worse? The script needs the characters to make dumb decision to push the plot forward. Once that happens, the script loses any form of intelligence. Also, this movie is technically longer than the first, but it feels way shorter, and I blame that all on the lack of intensity.

A Quiet Place Part 2 is a decent sequel, but not nearly as good as the original. This movie isn't even that scary; it lacks the intensity that the first film had. The script is also way more inferior in almost every single way. The film also leaves on a worse cliffhanger than the original, so I guess it's implied that there's going to be another sequel. If there is a part 3, then I really hope that it sticks to its old roots and not continue with this.

Warning: Spoilers
My biggest criticism with Black Widow is its script. This film honestly had the potential to be something great: it had the budget, the talent, and a well known main character. Nearly every issue with this film stems from the screenplay.

The biggest issue? The antagonist. Dreykov is one of the worst MCU villains to date. The script made him a fragile old man who has a quick temper, but doing this literally ruins his role as an antagonist. Antagonists are supposed to be strong and intimidating, and if not, then smart and manipulative. Dreykov has none of those attributes, and at this point, I don't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing for him to get such little screen time. He also emits a pheromone that makes it so that no one can attack him if they smell him, so there's that I guess.

The plot is also really uninteresting. The film takes most of its time trying to find Dreykov, but how could I be interested in finding Dreykov if I never saw him before. Also, the motive for finding Dreykov is that he mind controls black widows, and he controls an evil organization. So we want to get to Dreykov for the most basic reasons, and we never saw him before, great job with creating a strong plot, screenwriters.

There are tons more problems with this film, but this review would be too long if I started listing them all, so lets get into the good parts. The action is really good. The choreography was great and the action scenes were creative and grand. Weirdly though, the CGI suddenly got a lot worse at the end. Scarlett Johansson did a solid job, but Florence Pugh carried a lot of the heavy load. David Harbour was supposed to be the comedic relief, but the best jokes came from Pugh. Her character is also pretty likable, so I guess that helps a lot.

Overall, Black Widow is lightyears away from being perfect. The plot is long and uninterestingly weak. The main antagonist can literally be some ones grandpa, and the supporting characters were all bland, with the exception being Yelena. There are great action scenes, but action can't carry any movie, even if its an action movie. This film is a 3/10; I was originally going to give it a 5, but the more I kept writing, the more I realized how flawed this movie is. Now I'm just hoping Marvel Studios and Disney do a better job with their next movies.

Lots of big names for a lame film
9 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
No Sudden Move started off great, but quickly after that first act, it all falls apart. The film felt stagnant most of the time, and because of that, the pacing is just terrible. It took forever for the film to develop the final act, and when it was nearing its end, the ending wasn't crazy or flashy, it was just really unremarkable. And the story is unnecessarily complicated. I'm supposed to remember all of the characters' names and who they are, but it gets so complicated that you'll forget who the characters are even talking about.

Although the script is terrible and uninteresting, the film is technically fine. Some people complained about the fish-eyed lens, but for me, it was hardly noticeable; but why even add the fish-eye lens in the first place? The lens' didn't relate to the story or the entire film, so it was just strange why they took this direction. Other than some quirks, the film was shot well, I liked the color-grading, and the editing was smooth. Also, the sets were great, and combined with its cinematography and color palette, it creates a really neat atmosphere.

In the end, the film seemed fake. It had a huge cast of big names, but honestly, those A-list actors weren't necessary. They just casted a bunch of really famous people to help with its box office and to make it look more grand than it really is. And the plot sounded like it was going to be an intense thriller with the addition of a heist, but it was mainly just talking. No Sudden Move is an okay film when it could've been something great, it's just unfortunate that it ended up becoming this.
