I'm flabbergasted

Peak comedy, absolutely loved it! The jokes are so smart and while the plot may be simple, it mixes up vampires and all that to the real world easily, making you cry-laughing in the process.

A worthwhile watch

Truly amazing performances and directing. A very sad story that shows the range of human emotion. As a Greek who lives in Athens I found the scenes filmed here realistic enough, even though they showcased the worst aspects of Athens and humanity in general.

An exceptional movie for its genre, with excellent storytelling, cinematography and camera work. The amazing scenery, brilliant performances from such young actors and the suited soundtrack tie together a truly beautiful film.

Brutally honest and heart-warming

Apart from the phenomenal performances of Driver and Johansson, which honestly shape the whole movie, this story manages to capture the devastating events that follow a couple's seperation. It shows the battle of two people who love each other, yet have compromised and finally indulge in the need to pursue a better life, while trying to give their child the best life possible. Such a beautiful and realistic film.

Funny and charming

The two old men will melt your heart through a journey of self-discovery, love and loss. It's not just another Holocaust movie, but a look to the lives of two everyday people who hold on to the past too much and are too stubborn to change beliefs, however they manage to live with eachother during a life-changing roadtrip.

Funny, quick-pased and easy to watch. I definitely recommend it, however not to children as in contains cursive language, which honestly is the funniest aspect of the movie.

Intriguing

I got free tickets for this and was not expecting much. I was astonished. The performances were breathtaking, especially the protagonist's. The film featured great locations and showcased Georgia's culture with raw honesty. It was a touching journey through loss and self-discovery.

Fascinating, but not for all tastes

I absolutely loved the film. From the colors to the amazing camera work and the brilliant performances, it was a masterpiece. However i do believe that some people may find it tiring, nevertheless the movie has its twists and comic reliefs.

Masterpiece

It was simply a great film. The performances were breathtaking (tipping my hat to Hugh Jackman), as well as the singing. From the costumes to the actors and directing, there was close to no fault. My eyes may be blinded by the lights (reference), however this movie made me happy and i am longing for movies like this. It is a shame it was only nominated for 1 Oscar (judging by the other nominated films for crying out loud) but it has certainly gained the commercial success it deserves!
