Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Underrated
Underrated, under appreciated and far better than people give this movie any credit for.
While Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker is not a flawless movie, though it's not as bad as people say it is, that is why I've given the score a 10/10, even though more realistically it's an 8/10.
Good:
Great characters
Good writing
Incredible Acting
lots of tension which makes the film feel very exciting.
AMAZING practical and digital effects.
Bad:
Sometimes the film feels a bit too quick in places.
One scene feels out of place with Leia and a bit of weird humour.
Overall a solid fun movie!
Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Fukushusha Scar (2022)
A solid and very fun film!
Personally I quite enjoyed myself when watching The Revenge of Scar, as a big fan of the original Manga and Anime I felt myself enjoying the alterations and changes that they made to the story to tell it as a movie, what's nice is that the events are the same though the settings are changed for cohesion and so it works as a movie.
The acting was better in this film than the first, I feel that Ryosuke Yamada was less overdramatic as Edward Elric this time and despite enjoying the first film for the same reasons as this one I have to agree that the acting was VERY over the top, so I'm glad it was improved.
I feel the passage of time between events was too fast in some scenes, one second Edward thinks about going to Xerxes and then Seconds later we CUT to him halfway there in the desert. A LITTLE too fast, but it didn't really matter just felt very fast haha.
So yeah, check it out if you're interested but if you weren't a fan of the first film, then you probably unfortunately won't enjoy it.
Thank you for reading my brief review of:
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: THE REVENGE OF SCAR.
X: First Class (2011)
First Class Movie Making!
X-Men: First Class is an american superhero film Directed By Matthew Vaughn and Produced By Bryan Singer, it stars James Mcavoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender.
DIRECTING
Solidly Directed By Matthew Vaughn, First Class is a stylish and exciting film to watch. The cinematography is lovely, interesting use of the camera includes a scene where a conversation is shot where characters' faces are reflected in an object, a simple yet effective way of making the conversations engaging for the audience, the way the camera moves in some scenes helps identify the beauty of the mutations, but also the threat of a nuclear war that looms over them
ACTING
The acting of the film is overall pretty great, strong performances coming from James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and especially Michael Fassbender who plays the menacing Magneto, he brings a power to his performance that truly sells his terrifying persona.
Jennifer Lawerence, and James McAvoy are very good in the film, Jennifer portrays "Raven" as a very conflicted young lady, who worries about her mutation and her place in the world she lives in. McAvoy mixes the charm of a boy and the intelligence of a professor to his advantage, bringing a certain innocence to him. In my opinion they portray their characters in a delicate yet strong way, showing naivety while leading the way as the proud mutants they desperately want to be.
All together their chemistry works very well, I can believe that they're in the situations they're in, the emotional troubles that the three main characters fight through are connected to one another because they're all fighting a similar struggle which makes them relatable to the audience.
EDITING
The film has a 2h 12m runtime, but it doesn't feel long because of the fast pacing, the editing team establishes things it needs to such as the characters and their motivations and moves into how they all interact with each other to achieve their goals and despite the complicated science fiction elements the story is easy to follow.
PROBLEMS
The oversexualisation of female characters despite Raven's strong character is a bit distracting and can sometimes be overdone, in some scenes it makes sense due to the context and the fact that it's set in 1962 explains why they're being portrayed this way, but sometimes it's unnecessary.
CONCLUSION
Overall X-MEN: FIRST CLASS is great, despite my slight critique it's a solid film with very good acting, editing and directing.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Star Wars: VII Review 10/10
Okay let me just say, that this is one of the best goddammed movies of all time, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens changed my life and inspired me to create and write my own short films, and i thank J.J Abrams for creating one of the most innocent and exciting movies of all time.
30 years have passed and Luke Sywalker has dissappered and the FIRST ORDER has risen with the help of a ragtag group of heroes, and general Leia Organa's RESISTANCE, they set out to find Old Legend himself, also with the help from Han Solo and chewbacca the wookie, the acting was better than oscar worthy! They casted these characters so well and so accurately.
I don't mostly get the hate for this film, its so good! so what if there's a black man in the movie, so what if the main character is a woman? and plus, the reason that Rey Beat Kylo during the forest fight, because he's beating himself and he's bleeding, and plus he's emotionally unstable after he litterally just killed Han Solo his own father.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014)
THE HUNGER GAMES IS BACK AND BETTER THEN EVER! though some people disagree on the films tone
THE HUNGER GAMES
MOCKINGJAY
PART 1
why? people really don't like this film i'll tell you why. people didn't like the mockingjay films, because of the lack of action katniss being less powerful then in the first 2 and a lot of propaganda BUT mockingjay is a war film and would have things to do with torture, PTSD and propaganda that is what the main theme of the mockingjay films are about. anyway, i'll tell you my opinion. its gritty tone and music suits the film perfectly 10/10
The Propoganda and war feel we get when watching the film is perfectly done, intense and hard to watch, but at the same time great. and the uprising of the Districts. 10/10
it's direction great! Francis Lawrence is an amazing director and always will be, it's gritty tone really sits with you throughout the entire movie.
the acting in the film is also really strong just like catching fire and hunger games I really mean it, it is some of the best acting I've seen and the films have some of the best actors I've also seen in other films!
Overall, I love the film because it tells a very realistic story with great visuals, great acting, great cinematography, superb music and fantastic directing i give this film a 10/10 its very realistic and gritty and violent.
Just as a warning I felt physically sick during the film, mainly because of how harrowing it was.
Now taking all things into consideration, I suggest that you should watch this film, simply because of how great it is. It's my favourite of THE HUNGER GAMES films, and I will definitely be watching them again! :D
