Very Odd Mix Of Good And, Well, Uh....
31 March 2022
This film has this unusual penchant for self-destructing as it goes along. One good plot point is followed very closely by another that almost makes you forget the previous was any good at all. The first hour had me wondering why it only got a 5.3 on iMDB, but it became much clearer as the second hour began to (at times, hilariously) unfold. I don't feel there's any need to point out anything particular here. It's not a completely terrible movie, but it does get many points off for cliches and plot holes. The discerning viewer shouldn't have any issue pointing these out.

Decent enough action/fantasy film, good watch...but what's with the HUGE gaping plot hole at the 1hr7min mark!??

Warning: Spoilers
If the point was to destroy the GOLDEN mirror the entire time, why didn't the dwarves just toss it into the MOLTEN GOLD river when they carried it over the bridge around the 1hr 7min mark? Problem solved. Dwarves just saved the world. You're welcome. 🙂

If there is any one movie that could help rebuild DC's image in the eyes of so many enthralled with the MCU after so many DC disappointments, this is it. Seize it DC. Don't lose this possibly wonderful start to a possibly mesmerizing series!!

Loved since childhood, just realized something disturbing about Jack Bonner...
27 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It centers around the fate Steve Guttenberg's character, Jack Bonner at the end of the movie. Seen this many times since childhood, but it dawned on me what the only possible outcome could be for him because he chose to stay. More than likely, Jack Bonner would have been held accountable in the deaths of more than 30 senior citizens, seeing as how they had a memorial/funeral for them with the preacher claiming the boat incident was the reason for their deaths. First of all, when the coast guard started chasing them through the harbor, they had a clear view of the name of his boat, so they're going to find out who he is no matter what. Working out of the harbor, he has to be registered with the harbormaster, so they will investigate. There's the issue of the fog. The coast guard couldn't see what was going on behind it, so they didn't see the spaceship, so they'll never believe him if he tells the truth Then, even though there was thick fog, there were so many coast guard boats, it's more likely they'll first find him floating around in the water in his life raft with the sack full of money given to him by Brian Dennehy's character, Walter, having to explain what happened to 30 plus missing senior citizens last seen alive on his boat he was driving, fleeing authorities, that he basically had a hand in kidnapping. Then he'll have to explain the "mysterious group of people" who rented his boat and the pool house next door to the senior home. Being Altereans, there would be no record of their existence on Earth. So, try explaining that to police. Good luck. You really think they're just going to let the guy go with his soaking wet burlap sack of cash, consequence free?? Sorry, but I think Jack Bonner's in a lot of trouble folks...lol
