Tad disappointing
17 July 2023
Far as horror & it's sub-genres, most realize that big budget horror films are a rarity & that's ok. Maybe a handful every yr are backed with ample budgets, but most films going back to golden age in Hollywood have been lower budget films. With saying that, there have still been ton of great movies made in genre. But its important to have realistic expectations. If watching a slasher, it's rather silly to expect some epic romanticized screen play acted out let alone get Oscar worthy performances. Idk what some peeps expect sometimes looking at reviews. This had major potential imo yet fell way short. Lighting made it hard to watch & I'm guessing budget really hindered what they could do. Some can do more with less, than others.

Pretty average
26 March 2022
But average isn't bad. Bad is bad. It's quite basic. As long as someone isn't expecting and doesn't need great, I think they'll enjoy this movie. Also assuming of course, that enjoy Charlie's Angel/Misson Impossible/James Bond kind of movies. Basic spy/espionage/cop movies. Not saying they are exactly the same in any way or in style. I'm just talking bout the type of movie. Movies are flooding streaming sites, and there's literally hundreds of thousands to chooose between that & cable, but it's amazing how often someone will be searching & searching for something just passable to watch that they haven't seen. At least I feel that way, and many people I talked to have said same thing. It's so hard finding a new interesting movie. And when you finally find out about one, ya watch it, and it's back to drawing board. This is type of movie to watch on weekday night or weekend afternoon just to check it off list. Not that it's required viewing or anything, but mote in the sense that, ya see it once, and you'll prob be satisfied & won't feel need to ever watch it again imo.

Scream (I) (2022)
8/10
If you love the Franchise
17 January 2022
Then this movie will not disappoint. At least it shouldn't. One would think it'd be a given, that if you like a franchise, you love every sequel in it. But we all know that's not true. If you're not a fan of the franchise, I would stay away, cause this movie has the best "Scream" has had to offer over the yrs. And so if you're not a fan, you're clearly not going to be a fan of this movie either.

Chances are, that to me anyways, nothing will beat the original. But out of the sequels, it's right up there. I have the last scream prior to this one as the second best. This is right there tho. There are a few clues left along the way, that tell you more is going on with certain characters, but no dead-giveaways or giveaways period. It's just classic scream. It's not a movie that's suppose to have a lot of "scares" but idk why that has to be a requirement for some people to qualify as a good horror movie. "Scream" has always been more of a slasher mystery in the vein of a "whodunnit". It really doesn't make its hay on "jumps" & "scares". Part of the fun is guessing who is behind everything.

I also am often disappointed when sequels don't have ties to the original, or characters are lost, ignored or forgotten. Scream always stays true to the original. And although I love the "hAlloween" franchise, it became an utter mess over the yrs thanks to bad writing, studio & production fights & lawsuits, making movies then totally ignoring them. People hate Halloween 4 & 5, but I loved Danielle Harris & hate how new movies try to tell you she never existed. At least her character. Halloween 6, largely ignored as well, has 2 different cuts, and we can thank the perverts Weinseins for that debacle. Point is, Scream avoids all the BS, stays true to itself & the characters of past & present.

Also, this movie leaves a lot of questions, which the viewer will think they have some clues on the answers to those questions, while still not knowing how right they are. Thing that makes "Scream" movies so good, is that they cater to the ultimate fans of the genres. Doesn't mean that you have to be an Uber-horror fan to enjoy em, but the more you know about the genre, the more subtleties you pick up on. While other stuff is anything but subtle. But the movie always pays homage to the movies from yesteryear while also still always staying innovative & fresh. The entire franchise is one giant satire, while simultaneously managing to basically blend enough elements of other genres. This movie didn't disappoint. Instead it left me hoping for a sequel to the "requel"

We all entitled to own opinions
9 January 2022
But I don't get the negative reviews to some movies. More so the extremely negative movie reviews, with responses like "worst movie ever". When you know it's not possibly the worst movie they ever saw unless it was the only movie.

I see some with the reasoning too much blood as they are reviewing a slasher movie. Or silly reasons like that. Or a "gay person doesn't even act like that". As if they are offended at the generalization. When it's them who are being the Hippocrates. Because they seem to be insinuating that they in fact know how a "gay person should act". It's literally one character who happens to be gay. I think the writer understands how he wanted that one character to act. Just silly stupid reasons to give a movie bad review & why it's so sad & frustrating that the process will never be true when it's flooded with biases, people over-analyzing, and people who are reviewing movies from genres they prob aren't even fans of. Giving us completely jaded views.

If you are a fan of & enjoy horror-ish movies, more so sub-genres of the horror genre. Then I can't imagine that you would see this movie and not like it. It's from the 80's and so whenever you plan to watch a movie, the time it was filmed & what was available to movie makers has to be taken into consideration. Some of my favorite movies are from a time well before this movie was made. But I understand a movie from the 1940's is going to be a lot dif than a movie from a year ago in 2020. The cast was good, the acting good, I thought to plot was good. I wouldn't try & sell it off as the best movie you'll ever watch. But I think it's def one of those movies where it's good to have seen once. Considering movies in genres like this usually have shoddy production & budget restraints, To me it's actually above average movie when you're grading it on a scale against other movies of its kind. Which, imo, all movies should be graded on scale with others in its genre. It's kind of silly comparing a movie like Texas chainsaw Massacre with Citizen Kane or comparing Caddy Shack to the Big Sleep with Bogey. I sometimes a movie is meant for cheap thrill & not to make a clean sweep at the Oscars: it feels like some people are disappointed at any film doesn't explain the meaning of life to the viewer or some other silly requirement . Or they offended at something in that's so silly. Or pick a reason you've seen in a review board.

Porky's (1981)

I just don't see it
5 January 2022
I don't see how this movie is considered raunchy or trash lmao. I mean, we as a society took a step forward in liberation in the 60's, the 70's & 80's a little more, and then boom, we going right back to 1900's. It's like a bunch of nuns reviewed this movie. I look down and see, severe under nudity. So 1 scene that cuts in & out for a a minute or 2 is "severe" nudity. And a couple shots of breasts. You'd think it was a porno the way some are talking. There's sophomoric comedy, but what does one expect about a movie based around a couple of high school guys. I don't see anything vulgar within movie. It's par for course for high school imo. I hung around with multiple groups too in a big city with a small town feel and 1 school. And I knew people from other areas. Not much changed from one to the next. So the fact there were and are actually people that were and still are offended with this movie i just find hilarious. It's a movie. I mean people don't have to like it, I get it's not for everyone. But just this fake outrage & acting like this movie is the antichrist by a % is just loopy. But I gotta come to grips that some people still think it's ok to tell other people what to do with their own bodies and we in the age of everything is offensive for a growing number in the population. I'd watch movie ASAP if you haven't seen it. It's prob gonna be banned & outlawed at rate some peeps trying to move things. Nude is bad, our own bodies are gross. Sex is not ok. Youd wonder how procreation has lasted this long. We gonna be extinct if some people get their way. Actually no we won't, cuz these people are just hippocrites and We all know it. They wanna live their life free but will be damned if everyone else does.

Did one of the reviewers actually write that it should've been rated "R". These extremists are why countries so divided cuz they exist on both sides. Is there some sophomoric humor yeah. But newsflash, it's kinda how young boys are before they grow up. Some never do I guess but most do. So aggravating that some people wanna be like, well that scene didn't even need to be added in movie.

Or such & such gender, religion, sexual orientation wouldnt act that way. They are basically generalizing themselves as they accuse the writer/director of it. Talk bout Hippocrates. No one is saying they all act that way, but maybe some do, or at least that person does. I guess if you don't like that kind of comedy or find everything offensive, stay away. If you have a really lame sense of humor, stay away, cuz I definitely don't recommend. But I LoL'd at multiple moments in movie, and took it for it what is, a movie. The plot is simple enough but hardly stupid. The acting is good and actually has a solid B-cast. Idk, I'm still shocked I guess that someone thought it should be rated R. It's like saying Private School or Friday the 13th should be rated X. This is hardly Porkys 😂.

My God. If you like Buying the Cow and movies Like that, then you'd prob enjoy this. If you were completely offended by buying the cow, you should prob not watch movies & join a convent. I didn't say if you didn't like. We all entitled to opinions based on tastes. Offended is a dif story. That's when you know you're a hard-o.

Gotta consider the time
5 January 2022
If you do watch & like,

I would absolutely recommend "the witches" with Joan Fontaine, and English style movie from the 1970's, and also "fear in the night". Latter more mystery/suspense so a lil dif, with dif plot but all 3 movies are from similar time & underrated. Underrated of course assuming you enjoy horror/suspense movies & the off-shoots of the genre's from the 60s/70's & like the old Hammer films or movies that have that style/feel

When movies were more simple & effects weren't all computerized and there were no green screens. Absolutely worth a once over assuming again, you have no issue with older movies. Which, if you're reading reviews here; You prob don't mind. I love em, and so this was right up my alley. It's hard finding good movies in this genre or even sub-genres off of it. There's only so many each yr that are truly worth watching & it seems there's even less these days that are well scripted, acted and produced.

Anyone? Well it was ok, but would've liked others opinions before watching. Maybe before watching again. Y'all gotta remember the times. For a generation where 2 sentences is an "essay" thx to social media platforms & "character limits" shortening attention spans, in find it refreshing to find a 150 minimum word requirement here. We need things like this or in a decade, or anyone wanting to find a movie is going to have to go through a library of "shorts"

Gotta be honest
6 December 2021
Somehow the movies works. It's got nothing special going for it, but between the characters, main MJF's & Stiles, it moves it along to be an enjoyable film. I don't think it was great by any means, but almost anyone from the 80's has enjoyed it at least once, and I'd have to believe anyone who is a fan of the decade will as well. I don't really know what genre it falls under. I guess comedy, but, other than the scenes with the coach, it really doesn't have that many funny parts. Yet it still worked-mostly anyways. I'd recommend anyone who enjoys movies from that decade to at least give a look one time just to have seen it. You could absolutely do a lot worst. But if you're not a fan of older movies, and that's what I guess an 80's movie is considered these day, u prob would rather pass.

I don't remember seeing anything that would make someone complain about it's PG rating. Yet I read a review complaining about all these sexual references & how it should've been rated PG-13. They then went on to admit they understood that "PG" is in fact "parental guidance", so I don't understand their gripe. There's a big leap from PG-13 to rated R & this is a lot closer to G than rated R. It's a family film. First time I saw movie, I was prob 7 around 1987. And nothing in made me think I was watching something I shouldn't have been lol. Hell, I didn't even feel that way a few yrs later when I was watching USA up all nite. I can't imagine any parent shielding their child's eyes in any scene from this movie or shutting tv off shocked at content. There's one scene where a woman is in underwear & bra in a dressing room. If that's gonna have parents upset at a movies rating than we are going backwards in society. There's nothing porographic about a women changing or kissing a man. The scene didn't go too far. I just thought it odd that someone would come away from this movie & think, wow, I wouldn't want a kid watching that. If that's you, it's you're right, but just remember PG is parental guidance meaning, it's you're call. I'm just thankful people who think this movie should PG-13 werent rating movies when I was younger or I prob wouldn't have gotten to see 90% of the movies I have seen & grew to love. Movies like Private School, TomBoy etc wouldve prob been rated X & "Porky's" would prob have to be registered as hardcore pornography. No nudity in teen wolf, and I seriously don't remember a single swear. What are we doing?

More ratings please

I miss the Hammer time. But it will never feel the same. Through no fault of the studios own, because all their movies had a certain feel that perfect for that specific time & in today's ever changing world, it's not worth it to compare. Forget bout comparing it to the older movies. Better to judge it on its own imo. Maybe the Studio can find a new niche that works for today. But as for this movie itself. I thought it basically average. And for some that might sound bad. But i never consider average bad. I consider "bad", bad. Worth a look if you're a hammer fan. If you don't like it, you can always turn it off. But I find it difficult anyone finds it bad enough to turn off, and rest might just find it worthwhile just to have seen it.

IMHO it's top 3 in terms of JTR docs
26 September 2021
I would say this one. "Unmasking Jack the Ripper" available on YouTube, and 1 other 1 are the best 3 I'd recommend for anyone who hasn't seen them & is interested in viewing a documentary on a the subject. Sadly, that 1 other one, I can't find anywhere and I really would like to see it again. Sometimes watching something a second time, one might see something the missed, or remember something they've forgotten. Mary Kelly is actually played by an actress & Jack the Ripper is actually played by a male actor. And they discuss mention a person having to do with Mary Kelly that some of the other docs omit. I really don't think I laid down any spoilers there, but maybe somebody recognizes that 3rd documentary I'm talking about because I really recommend it. That documentary also seems to not only tells the story quite well, including re-enactments, but also has some medical professionals who give insight into the mind a little bit. Drives me mad I can't think of it. But "unmasking Jack the Ripper" and again this one, I do recall the names of, and highly recommend both. Hopefully someone at a later date might be able to recognize the last doc where Mary Kelly is played by a red head, and after denying Hutchinson, seems really excited over the prospects of earning a "crown". Again, that's not this documentary, but another. This & the unmasking documentaries have commentary from Richard Jones who I just think is one of the best Ripperologists in the biz. There's also the Holmes documentary, Ripper in America I believe, "The Diary of Jack THE Ripper", Murder Maps, Crimes throughout History has an episode, "Jack the Rippers London" and a few others. Many can be found on streaming services and or YouTube. So for those who really would like multiple sources, those are worth a look. But again, the 2 I mentioned that I know, and 1 I alluded to that I can't remember title of, are the 3 I'd start with, and if you're only interested in 1, I'd pick 1 of those 3. Sry, for long post, but felt need to include everything.

The Dare (2019)

I don't know why
13 September 2021
But it's hilarious when people come on to review a horror movie & say too much gore.

Or unnecessary gore. It's like watching a slasher movie & saying, Too much murder. Or watching a comedy & saying, way to many funny jokes or funny moments for my liking. Or watching a drama & saying, movie was way too serious & intense. Or watching a movie about a main character who is a misogynist & saying they don't like that movie cuz it contains misogyny. Like for 1, you would think they'd understand it's 1 character in a movie on the latter point. I heard some hash Kiss Kiss bang bang cuz the way they portrayed a gay & that gays don't act like that. As if you can put all gays in a box. It was 1 gay man, and maybe he does act that way. Who are you to say how a gay should act. Whether it's "too flamboyant" or you have another issue with it. Or any character. As far as the "too much gore", it's like me ordering an extra spicy meal & say, ya I don't like this & running to Yelp & complaining about the meal I just ate from a place.

So if you don't like gore, I wouldn't watch the movie. If you don't like things that tend to be in the horror genre movies, I'd also not watch. Don't wanna give movie away, but I agree with most who say it's similar to saw. Obv completely different plot & different characters tho. It's just basically if you into a movie like saw, you might into this.

This is ONE of best
30 August 2021
Maybe not the best, but it's def up there there when you put it up against the best from the genre. I'm really shocked that anyone would give it a bad review. What are they Gene Siskel wannabes? Or they the pre-graduate film students over-analyzing everything like they do with every movie. It's a slasher movie! This movie should not be compared to arthouse films, all-time classic drama's or Oscar worthy productions. It's a slasher movie 😂

All I care about in a horror movie is it being watchable for one. And I'd prefer the acting to be passable. At least to where I'm not watching the movie and thinking I'm watching someone off the street reading lines they memorized. If I don't pay attention to the acting, it's good enough. Plus, this movie has an underrated cast. And while everyone's prob seen a bunch of these movies. This was actually one of the first along with Friday the 13th with a similar theme but so not identical and plenty different. So there was no "ripping off" like so many try to accuse movies of these days. Sometimes accurately, but other times, it's garbage label. Humans don't live very complex lives. So in horror movies, you're only gonna get so many main plots. Some sub plots can change, but again, there's been millions upon millions of movies made. Chances are, everything's been done before. Plus even if there are 2 identical plots, the characters are dif, so even when you're saying the tired old line, "seen this one before", you really haven't. Cuz you haven't seen the dif set of characters work throughout a similar plot. Plus, even if it's almost identical, it's never identical, so get over it.

Anyways, this movie is must for anyone who loves horror movies. Especially 1970's & 1980's horror & even more so, slashers. It will not disappoint those fans. I'd almost guarantee the bad reviews are coming from those who are not fans of horror at all, let alone ones from back then-which happens to be my fav era for the genre. While the setting has been done plenty times ova, the main plot, has not.

Over the Top (1987)

Kinda Funny
27 August 2021
That for such a good movie, so many of the people involved, actually kind of disliked the finished product. Specifically Sly, and the actual person who came up with the original script.

Sly said he would've had the movie based around a more urban area & would've made final scenes much more dark. He also said he would've taken out all the rock music. Which I think would've been moronic. I love the music from the movie. I think Sly has proven to be a really good director & I love the fact that he goes for authenticity. He literally wants his actors to actually box, fight, arm wrestle, etc... So in a lot of his movies, when you see reaction's, many times, they actually legit screams of pain or hurt. So if he directed it way he would've liked, maybe it would've still been decent, but imo, it wouldn't be as good as what the movie became.

This is a great 80's movie with a great soundtrack. I've heard so many complain about the kid actor. I don't see. I'd love to hear their reasons on why he was such a bad actor in the movie. Not every movie needs to pass for an Oscar worthy nomination to be enjoyable and deemed good. This is one of those movies where after 5-10yrs, ya might check it out again. Maybe cuz I'm an 80's kid, I might just enjoy this movie more cuz I love all things 1980's. But I'd like to think that im not sad enough to where to if I saw it today I wouldn't enjoy it just the same. The plot is simple, but idk, is that so bad. Maybe people have always been this way, and the internet is just shining let on em, but can't escape this feeling that society is shifting and you have a lot more miserable people today who don't know how to enjoy the simple things in life. So many want to bash movies that have no business being bashed. Maybe it's not you're cup of tee, but it doesn't mean movie sucks. It just means you don't like it. But one would hope you'd recognize that you're bias against that type of movie. Like I'm not gonna watch a comedy if I hate them and then bash the movie. It'd be like ordering dinner from a restaurant you hate, and then running on Yelp & giving it a 1 star and complaining about the food. That you were never gonna like anyways. What's point of reviewing then. So if you need a complex plot, with plot twists, and in depth character development, and Oscar worthy actors giving Oscar worthy performances, acting in Oscar worthy movies, with Oscar worthy screenplays & cinematography etc... then you prob shouldn't be watching 99% of the movies ever made, let alone reviewing them. Just because you want to be a an all-star critic, doesn't mean you should just over analyze everything you come across. Why some can't allow for some movies to just time killers or an enjoyable escape for a couple hours is beyond me.

If you watch
21 July 2021
Please don't do it with those MST fools. I remember I used to get annoyed when Comedy Central was new & those clowns used to come one. I was always surprised that these got air time, and that there was a segment of the population who enjoyed them. Then I went outside & looked at fellow mankind & out of every 100 people I could see some and realize ok, that's prob some1 who would be into such childish Bs. Yet it's that child who used to do stuff in class that wasn't funny. But was just loud and annoying & disrupting. Why anyone would wanna watch a movie but not really watch the movie, just see picture & hear the dumbest lines put in for them is beyond me. But hey, guess some people have weird fetishes. Who am I to judge. I'm just not gonna understand it.

This movie isn't terrible. But certainly plenty of movies out there to see before I'd recommend getting round to watching this. I'll admit tho, with all these streaming sites I have, I still find myself rewatching older movies for the 2nd, 3rd sometimes 4th or even more for the true classics. Merely cuz I can't find anything knew that looks worth a damn. So if you're desperate, you can give this a try. It will become apparent pretty early on if it's something you could stick round til end for. If you hate lower budgeted movies of the 70's & 80's that are kinda thriller/mystery, or if you hate older movies in general, then Just stay away. I guess 1979 is kinda old now since it's close to when I was born.

Gotta see at least once
20 July 2021
I'm guessing 90% anyone who is between the ages of 42-60 has seen this movie at least once. I'm on the lower end of that scale & when I was younger, it seemed like this movie & "the Boy Who Could Fly" was always on random weekends when I real movies would actually always play on the major networks. I don't think basketball off noggin is a spoiler. Hadnt seen either movie in decades. Actually saw this one prob 10 yrs & just finally saw it again. It's crazy that with so many movies, sometimes I struggle to find something new that interests me & so I find myself every 3-10 yrs rewatching movies I haven't seen in awhile. Sometimes it's like watching a movie for first time cuz you forget most of movie. Other times, u remember almost everything but sometimes see something you never noticed somehow.

Anyways, this is a solid movie. I don't think it's anything great but it's def solid. It so doesn't suck & im shocked any1 would give it a trash rating. I mean it was it. It's pretty simple story, but it works. It's better as a kid/teen imo but doesn't mean an adult can't enjoy it. Have to be interested in these kind of movies tho. I remember being really creeped out as a kid. Not as creeped as I was when I saw the Stepford Wives as A kid for first time back in late 80s but a little creeped out nonetheless. Now seeing it, it's not as creepy, but it's still good movie & if you like the stepford wives or have an acquired taste for 1980's movies & also movies in the horror & sci-fi genre. This is def 1 of the better movies of the 80s in that cat. When I say 1 of the better, it's a long list. Since imo it's the best time for those genres. However you have seemingly countless mixed in ova that period that are god awful & seemed like someone picked up a camcorder & gathered folks up round the neighborhood & they just winged it. This is Craven tho, and it has real actors, a good story & is well put together. Just don't watch it if you don't like horror or sci-fi'ish movies. Seems like that'd be obvious but we all know people who hand out 1s on movies we know don't deserve them & its clear to us that they just hate the genre of particular movie or are just weirdos.

i actually thought movie was 6
18 July 2021
But I docked it a point cuz maybe I'm bias cuz I'm a big fan of real unsolved mysteries & also of Jack the Ripper & the whole Victorian London backdrop. Even tho I realize this fiction. Only docked it a point due to my bias tho cuz I also believe that I'm fair. Even tho I tend to shy away from movies in foreign languages, merely cuz I have ADD & it's usually too much trying to read the words on the screen & pay attention to what's going on around me. Others have no issue with that but they ain't me. Other than that, I'd have no issue reading along. But this movie, I actually found myself being able to still follow everything. The acting was good, from what I could tell. At least characters were believable. And when it comes to Jack the Ripper, sadly, outside of From Hell & especially, "Murder by Decree", I've had a hard time finding good takes on the ripper scene. Could do a lot worst. Idk, I think it's worth a once ova if you don't mind subtitles & enjoy Saucy Jack. Or maybe you can find it dubbed.

It's an ok movie
18 July 2021
I think what annoys people almost as much as anything when it comes to movies is Mis-categorization. Like don't put a movie like this in horror. You don't put the movie "Ghost" with Demi & the late great Swayze-MAN in the horror category. I guess something like this can be hard to categorize as it doesn't fit a specific genre on the nose. But when you say horror, I think fans get a false sense of gore, or fright, or whatever else they come to expect from said horror movies.

As far as movie, the ones who compare it to a "stand by me" aren't far off. But this movie is NOT on that movies level. At least to majority of people. It can still be enjoyable to a large number of people. They just better off understanding what they in for to a point instead of expecting what one usually tends to when they turn out the lights & watch a horror flick.

I love horror movie but I'm not Bias
7 July 2021
There are some really horrible movies in the genre & I call em as I see em. The horror genre for the most part has a very low bar. That's not a bad thing either. There just doesn't need to be a lot of going on. People who want that are usually disappointed & it makes one wonder why they watch in the first place. I've seen a lot of average movie's even good ones get a 1 ranking. Rather annoyingly to most of us. Hell I guess those lazy 1 rankers show up in every genre. Guess it's unavoidable when you consider how some people in the world.

This movie has some real creepiness to it. As much as I love horror movies, I'm not really one to scare easily at scenes in horror movies. I jumped a few times in this one. It started off & I didn't love it, but I'm glad I stuck around. Cuz by the end I was really satisfied. Def worth a watch at least once if your a fan of genre or if you just randomly feel like a good "scary" movie. Some horror fans are fans of specific sub-genre. Slasher/serial killers, monster movie, haunting, etc...They might like one but not the others. This is good enough where it's worth a cross-over. Or like i said, someone who just feels like mixing it up. I've certainly done that with comedy if Iike a laugh, or depending on mood something else. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Unless you're one of those people who is never satisfied. We know you're out there all too well, as evidence in all the 1 ratings we see on IMDb reviews where we will know it's a good movie yet some still feel to rip it apart & stamp a lazy 1/10 star rating on it. If you're one of those people who's foods always too hot or too cold, who likes to complain about everything or hand out 1/10 ratings like they going outta style. You're prob the only ones I could see not liking this movie. So for those people, maybe not watch. Hell, maybe give it up on movies altogether, and try to find something to find enjoyment in. Otherwise, it's gonna be a hopefully long, but sad life.

Was a few yrs outta HS when it came out
1 July 2021
And first time I watched it, I could not stop cracking up. Every few yrs I'll watch it again & it's maybe not as good as the first time, but it's still pretty damn good. Cast is great, and there's enough in every seen to keep you interested entire time. The movies a comedy so if someone is looking for something else, then it's pointless to watch. But if your younger & have seen movie on some streaming site as an option, it's Def worth a look. Same goes for older people who may have somehow missed this yrs back when it came out. I don't even remember it at the movie theatre but saw it at movie rental place when they still had those and I was not disappointed. Ryan Reynolds & Jerry O'Connell just played awesome off each other & the other character's whether Bill Bellamy himself or Shannon Elizabeth etc... all did solid to great job with parts. The writing was awesome & it just all came together to be a underrrated hidden gem. One of those movies that nobody ever really remembers to talk bout, but if someone ever mentions it, everyone's eyes light up & has a laugh as they think back to watching it cuz they all know they laughed ass off.

I love her
26 June 2021
Elizabeth Olsen, than you for Old Boy. Thank you thank you!!!! Ignore negative reviews. She doesn't do bad movies. I'm not some psycho obsessed fan of hers either. I'm just a fan. Doesn't mean I have to love every movie she's in tho. I just happen to. At least ones I've wanted to see. And the ones I've wanted to see, never disappoint. And it's not like I'm only a fan of her. I'm a fan of a lot of good actors, guys & gals. Brad Pitt, Jason Statham, Scarlett Johansson etc. Could go on for days. Plenty of movies I don't like with those actors but for most part, I usually will like em cuz they great actors who chose those movies for a reason.

Just ignore the negative reviews. Some people are just negative. Should always ignore 1-2rankjngs period cuz they are clearly trolls, haters, bias reviewers or something. Then take the rest of reviews and go from there. It def gets better the deeper you go into it too.

It's average to top end of average
24 June 2021
I'd love to know the people who give this movie a 1. Clearly they are not fans of horror movies. Or maybe they hate anthology style movies. I don't hate anthologies, but I'm not crazy bout em either. Outside of the obvious ones like Tales from the crypt, tales from the darkside & trilogy of terrors, I haven't really seen any I enjoyed. But I have enjoyed more recent ones like Amusement & Trick 'r treat. I've seen people rate those low as well. I seriously wonder if they are horror fans because fans of horror understand how bad some horror movies are. I mean, to the level where u have to turn em off & look for another. Almost trial & error sometimes. Cuz there are so many bad ones. You know a good one when ya see it. If you're expecting Oscar worthy performances & Oscar worthy screen play with thick plots & sub plots, well then, it's prob safe to say you're a moron & shouldn't even be watching movies in this genre, let alone reviewing em. Cuz you're clearly bias or don't understand a good horror movie if it hit ya in the face. This movie is decent. To give it a 1 is a slap in the face to anybody that enjoys horror movies. I'm not saying we can't have dif opinions or people can't find things with movie they didn't like. I'm talking bout people who just flat out say it sucked & give it a 1 or 2 or use those overplayed fake ass line, "worst movie I've ever seen" or "2 hours of my life I'll never get back". Sometimes movies deserve those lines. But you see those lines on every movie. Often, when you know it's not applicable. The acting was fine to good. Good enough without question. As long as characters are believable & I can get lost in movie without wondering if they just hired peeps off the streets to save money or I'm asking how the person got the part, I'm usually not concerned with acting. I just need to feel like I'm watching an actual character & not somebody trying too hard to portray a character & failing. The stories come together good & even by themselves, they do Alrite. I just don't understand what some people expect. Do they know what a bad movie is & a great movie is? The rest kinda fall somewhere in the middle. Yet seems like some people have such small brains, it's like either great or "the worst movie ever". It's typical with today's world I guess. Every is like pick a side and then get extreme as possible. No wonder there's so much division the world. It's this feeling to make everything black & white & act like their is no gray area. You're either on the right side, which is "my side"-"my side" being some morons side-or you're on the wrong side-"wrong side cuz u don't agree with the moron trying to force view down throat. Not political statement either cuz it's both sides that do it & it's not just politics it's with everything. And I'm not forcing my opinion down anyone's throat & being a hypocrite . Like I said, can rank it any way you want. But if you give this movie a 1 or 2, or pretend it's worst movie ever. Chances are it's your first movie or youve had access to a really 💩 library. Anything else, it's your opinion & your entitled to it & ain't wrong for it. But 2's & under is just the typical D bag you see when you check out reviews on any movie you like & know that nobody could possibly try to pass it off as worst movie ever. But yet those fools are out there. Maybe it just makes em feel better to put something down. We all know negative people like that & they suck. There coffees always too hot or too cold. Same with dinner or it taste like rubber. The cashier in line is taking too long, whatever. Cuz clearly the whole world revolves around them. Word of advice, you watch enough movies & read enough reviews, you'll learn to ignore any lazy ass person who throws a 1 or 2 up. Unless it's the only review, in which case I'd wait for more unless u really wanna see it. Chances are, tho, for bigger movie there will be many more reviews than a couple. And in that case, where there's a lot of reviews for a movie, u can always ignore the 1 & 2's. Then from there, read the rest & the truth lies somewhere closer to the high end of the median if not higher.

Wrath of Man (2021)

Wrath of Man is the type of movie...
24 June 2021
That when you're finished, you find yourself thanking God you are not one of those people who see a movie like this & pretend it sucks. You know it was great & feel a sense of worth & meaning cuz you realize your life might not be as bad as it sometimes seems. Cuz you realize, you could always be that small % of folks who see a movie with little flaws & somehow feel the urge to rip it apart

I read a low few reviews & see them mention "weak dialogue". Ok, let's overanalyze every last detail of a movie. This movie wasn't made for the dialogue. It is made to keep people in suspense as the lead up into action takes place. For much of the movie, you know something, but you don't know anything. You're trying to piece the puzzle together. And each scene gives you another piece to fit in. The plot was great. I saw nothing wrong with the dialogue. If you wanted more, I don't what you wanted squeezed in that would've tickled your odd fetish fancy. There was no dead space. Or scenes where I can fathom why anyone would think more discussion or lines would be necessary. The action was great when it came time for it. The acting was great. The way the stories were setup & came together was brilliant. I should probably give the movie a 9. But I think 8 is still a really good movie. And the ending was karmic & the balls. You don't need to be a Statham fan to love this movie. But if you are, he certainly doesn't disappoint. Don't listen to negative reviews. Luckily there is so many good ones, I'm guessing you won't. Hell we should just all ignore anyone who makes the quotes, "worst movie ever" or "seen this one before" as those people are clearly just lazy, haterz or trolls. Some of em prob hate the genre they review, making em bias & making you question why the even watching the movie to begin with let alone reviewing it if they are bias & hate a genre. The been there, seen that people are clueless anyways. Everything has been done before to a point. I mean millions of movies have been made ova the last 100+yrs of movie making. Humans are not very complex. Everything has been done before & so peeps need to stop expecting fresh plots. Doesn't mean there can't be a fresh take on a plot tho & just cuz you seen certain actors in a movie live through a plot, you haven't seen another set of actors & characters do it. Hell millions of people cheat every day. So if a movie was made based on infidelity, it means any movie every made on infidelity after that is ranked 1 star or the worst movie ever. It's a stupid pre-requisite to say that every movie needs a plot that hasn't been done. It's unrealistic, foolish, naive & ignorant. Just cuz Suzy cheats on Billy, doesn't mean another movie where Betsy cheats on Mike is a ripoff. Swap out any plot with infidelity & the point remains. Just cuz you seen a movie about 1 thing doesn't mean another movie can't do it. Could have identical plots which few movies ever do as there are always at least subtle changes if not massive ones. But just say they are identical aside from the character. Just cuz you have seen one group of people go through situations, so what, that means another group of actors & characters can't? Ridiculous. Rant yes, but we'll worth it to put those fools on blast for such a stupid reason to kill a movie. Things like acting, how the scenes are edited together, whether the story makes sense & things like that should matter. And when I say make sense, I mean it's not just a bunch of rubbish. I don't mean if it's a sci-fi movie, overanalyze the math or the logic. That's just insanely stupid. Unless it's something like the movie, "ticking clock" with Cuba Gooding. Where any simpleton understand the ending cant happen that way. When you need to pull in quantum physics, or dealing with something the average person can overlook, you prob crossing the line into being hardo.

McQueen is great
24 June 2021
But doesn't mean ya just act like everything he does is 10/10. This movie was really good but a few things keeps it back from being perfection. A few small tweaks & movie would've been perfection. Literally a subtle tweak here or there. It's tough sometimes with production costs & budgets to go to deep into plots & subplots sometimes & a lot of people never take that into consideration. Sometimes it's sloppy writing, but many times it's just comes down to money. But there's no doubt that with just a few more scenes going a little deeper into the plot literally would have made this film a masterpiece. It's still great on its face though & I don't hand out 8's lightly. That's still a great score imo & the movie is well deserving. Just feel like a few tweaks takes movie to that last top level of greatness. Those tweaks aren't specific either as I feel like a lot of things could've worked. If you haven't seen this movie it's well worth the watch. At least to say you've seen it once. Unless your somebody who hates any movie pre-millennium & need all the special effects of today of course. But idk, I love watching older movies. I feel like the acting comes through better, everything just feels authentic. I'd also watch 'Point Blank' with Lee Marvin, 'Cat Ballou' & both"The Killers" movie. As they both are great on their own face. 'Cat Ballou' is a little random, but Jane Fonda was hot. Just Thank God she wasn't a teen in today's world cuz got enough of the 'save the world' & 'pick 50 causes' folks. There's actually a commercial now encouraging women not to apologize for menstruating. I'm all for the advancements society has made ova the yrs with people's rights no matter their background. But some people are taking things way too far & it's all fake just to say, "look at me" "I care" as they pick 50 causes to support & take things way too far doing it. Makes you wish you could go back to simpler times. I love the internet but I'd gladly give it back to go back 30-75 yrs.

It's not a bad movie
22 June 2021
I actually ain't a stiff who pretends like every movie I see is the worst movie ever made. I've seen a ton of movies. So I know a horrible movie deserving of a 1 or 2 when I see 1. Yes we all have dif opinions but not to the point where we should ever give a watchable movie with enough good in it as a 1 or 2. Those are the type of movie you turn off imo or at least wish u had. In no way was this movie that bad. There was a enough to keep you interested til end. Enough suspense, drama & decent story if your into these kinda movies. If you are not into these types of movies, then you really shouldnt be giving an opinion since you are clearly bias. Or you can give opinion, but at least have the disclaimer that you hate these kind of movies to make it fair to others. Or else it makes rating systems a joke. Obv trolls or losers wouldn't care bout that but 1 would hope your life isn't too so pathetic that you have become 1

I give it a 5 & i don't consider that bad, it's average which makes sense in a 1-10 scale. The acting was decent throughout. I wasn't exactly expecting Oscar worthy performances & don't think they should be a requirement in every movie. Just be believable. I hate when people become hyper focused on plots & sub plots & need everything to make sense. Especially in Sci-fi movies. I mean, they are movies lol. But at same time, the ending kinda upset me a little on the fact that common-sense alone would've told anybody that you cannot end movie like that. It just doesn't work & I would've been such an easy fix & couldve made movie that much better with thoughtful ending. And when I say thoughtful I mean that it wouldn't have taken too much thinking to come up with something almost exactly the same but something that was plausible. It's not enough to ruin the entire movie experience but it's enough to keep it from becoming a pretty good movie worth 1-2 stars higher since the end of the movie most would agree Is kinda important. It's a little offensive they ended the movie the way they did. Not the very ending but what led to it anyways. It's the still part of ending tho.
