Month of Madhu (2023)
Portraying Human attachment style through a Sea Wave!
For those who misunderstood the Pacing and Narrative style of 'Month of madhu' here's what I would like to say I believe Filmmaker Srikanth Nagothi wanted to compare Humans and their attachment styles to a Sea Wave. A Wave struggles alot to be born, reaches the shore, it looks so beautiful arriving at the shore but it goes back again immediately destroying itself.
The screenplay narrative structure follows the same pattern of a wave where the characters almost seem like reaching a resolution towards the end but they again go back to their past selves like a sea wave.
The director tried to portray the human condition here i.e. The innate nature of humans where they want to choose the people they love but instead choose misery for themselves every time in ways that are mostly unhelpful. They later look back on those sacrifices and call it as 'love'. This is the basic human flaw.
Tying the human condition to a sea wave was beautiful! Month of madhu is Seminal!
Three of Us (2022)
Serene. Poetic.
Handover a Beautiful story to two acting powerhouses like Shefali shah and Jaideep ahlawat and they'll turn it deeply exquisite! Shefali's eyes shows the audien a million memories of Shailaja(character). Without Kamal hassan we wouldn't have discovered a gem of an actor like Jaideep ahlawat. Ending shot haunts us and gets etched in our memory. The Filmmaker doesnt give names to the malaises or emotions of the characters - as we grow old our childhood or past memories keep fading and revisiting them feels like knowing about a part of ourselves which we do not recognise by ourselves anymore- it's as if we all suffer with a conditionike dementia but in a non pathological term of definition. Do a favor and watch this gem of a film.
