Manjhi: The Mountain Man (2015)
Remarkable acting...epic story...Deserves national award
Manjhi, The Mountain man story came to light in recent years during this story being discussed in Satyamev Jayate. I was totally fascinated by the story of Manjhi and his perseverance for the betterment of people of his village which lasted for 22 years. Movie to be made on his story is actually a tribute to the great man.
Ketan mehta scored plus point by casting Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Manjhi. He has done full justice by portraying the character of Manjhi. Movie direction is nice, Dialogues are great and his conversation with mountain most of the time feels real. Apart from some of the songs and a bit extended love story which could have been edited, film is able to justify the character of Manjhi and his efforts, dedication, sacrifices he made for carving a way through mountain.
Some of the one-liners of this film that you will remember for sure are "Shandaar! Zabardast! Zindabad!", "Bhagwan Ke Bharose Mat Baithiye, Kaa Pata Bhagwan Humre Bharose Baitha Ho!", "Jabh Tak Todenge Nahi, Tabh Tak Chodenge Nahi."
It's National award winning performance by nawazuddin, go and watch it in theaters.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015)
Hail Kangana's performance...!!!
Tanu weds manu returns is totally a popcorn flick one would like to enjoy. It's a 2 hour non stop funny, quick witted drama which outshines kangana's performance as haryanvi girl. As compare to it's prequel Tanu weds Manu which was an OK script, with good songs and direction these film exceeds it's prequel with better performances by each and every character in the film.
Kangana ranaut as Datto (a haryanvi girl) is a show stealer of this film, not to forget funny and quick witted fun-liners from pappi and you will feel pity on Jimmy shergill's character. While a new character has been introduced as a lawyer living as a tenant in kangana's home whose performance is also good. R. Madhvan as usual has delivered a good performance while he doesn't have as much screen space as kangana ranaut. This film one can say that women actor scores her mark.
Songs are not catchy as compared to it's prequel but fits well in the movie. While pace of the film is a bit slow, when first half of the film is full of laughter and second half comprises of mixed emotions. Script starts where it left from it's predecessor and it's quite predicted and feels stretchy a bit in the end. If you are kangana's fan then this film is must watch. You will be loving kangana's new avatar as you have never seen before.
On a whole, it's predicted but it's enjoyable and better than it's prequel.
