Basmati Blues (2017)

Basmati blues isn't blue enough

Expected the movie to be good considering Brie Larson is in the movie, however it's just an average movie.

The movie starts with introduction of Brie Larson who's a scientist at Rice seed producing company. She visits India to promote Newly invented breed of Rice seeds by her Company. She tries to persuade farmers to sign contract of buying seeds from her company. She meets an Indian guy and falls for him. Unaware her company is trying to cheat the farmers to make money, she convinces most of the farmer to accept the contract. However the things change towards the end.

A musical movie with predictable turns of romance, anger, betrayal and conscience doesn't creates a great impression. Other than costumes of the character and background music, nothing's great.

Midnight Runners (2017)

Two students from Police university go on a night out to find love. During their adventure they witness a kidnapping, on realizing investigation delay from police they decide to find the kidnappers by themselves. During the investigation they discover lot of facts about kidnappers. As well, they realize the training they receive in the university is more of a crap. After being forbidden by their superior with a consequence of getting expelled; They decide to prepare themselves, find the kidnappers themselves whatever may be the consequence. The movie is entertaining, definitely worth one time watch. There are few moments which are hilarious.

Gook (2017)

Another Movie on Racial Discrimination

Racial discrimination is a dark and sensitive topic. The movie is about the same faced by Korean origins living in states. A African American girl living in a shady neighborhood is emotionally attached to Korean friends and thinks of them as family. The girl's family are hostile against the Korean guys. The movie revolves around day today difficulties & racial abuse faced by them by different origin of Americans. The struggle of the Korean guys and black girl has been nicely portrayed. The ending of the movie is dark.

New Trial (2017)

A fight against the Government.

A beautiful movie with strong story background. The movies is about a Young guy wrongly convicted and punished for a murder which he never committed. The insurance company which compensated the victim was trying to recover the compensation from the young guy. A failed lawyer who wishes to make it big in his career joins a law firm involuntarily pursues the guy's case initially. However as he studies the case, he gets emotionally attached with the young guy and his family. The movie is about the fight of the lawyer/young guy with government official and efforts to start Re-trial of his case.

Overall a great movie with lots of thrills and turns. Enjoy.

ReLIFE (2017)

An average comedy

The wish of changing the past to have a better future may have come across everyone's mind. The movie is about the similar idea. A guy in his late twenties frustrated of his present life wishes to change his past to have a better future. His dream comes true when he gets a chance to do so as a part of experiment for one year. As he relives his life as a high school student, he makes some new friends. He cherishes the high school time more thane ever. He falls in love with girl but feels bad he will lose her at the end of the year of his Relife. After the end of his Relife period he realizes the Importance of Friendship and cherishes he present life more than before. Movie is pretty average with emotional touch and few laughs.

A soothing and Interesting drama

A interesting movie with some twist and turns. Movie revolves around a Broker who loses everything due to bankruptcy of the company he was representing. He travels to Australia to meet His family, ends up disappointed. He had missed most important part of his life pursuing his superficial dreams. Another character, a girl traveler working in Australia meets the broker. The story revolves around these characters. There is slight suspense which gives a clear idea about the plot of the movie. The movie is quiet slow due to which it becomes boring at times.

Overall an interesting movie to watch which teaches you the meaning of life.

Distance Between Dreams (2016)

Another one of beautiful Surfing movie

A beautiful Documentary with Walsh brothers as the centre of the story. They journey of riding big waves during El Niño have been described with some beautiful videos. The dangers and problems they encountered while surfing these big waves. The brothers look out for each other while surfing which was kind of amazing. It's a must watch for all surfing enthusiast as well as surfers.

House of the Disappeared (2017)

Thriller with surprising outcome

A housewife charged with a murder of his husband and her missing son from the son 25 years ago comes back in the same house to live in the same house from prison. The mystery of her son's disappearance from the house and the past horrific events happened with her which she remembered. Day by day she remembers all things happened with her 25 years ago. A priest tries to help her to find her missing son, he unravels the mystery about her house and other mystery related to that house and suspects something may happen to her. The wife needs to find out what happened to her missing son along with mysterious happenings on that day 25 years ago. The happenings where surprising and bizarre. At the end she figures out all the happenings on that day 25 years ago along with the reason her son went missing. A thriller plot with surprising outcome which overwhelms you. I would give 6.5/10, must watch if you like thriller movie.

Will You Be There? (2016)

A Vivid yet Interesting Love story.

A Depress doctor wishes to change his past if he can, comes across a mean of time travel. As the few beginning journey's he tries to absorb everything that everything was reality, but when he understands the changes which he can do in his past to make his present life better he realizes that by doing so he will end up losing the only thing he loved in his present life. The story revolves around his multiple time travel journeys in the past to change it, causes a change in his present life and the people who are close to him. At the end he figures out a solution which will change his past without losing the only person he loved in his present life. Few things which i liked were , the old aged doctor meeting his young self and means of communicating from past to present. On the whole the movie is interesting but the mean used for the time travel is ridiculous. The idea of changing the past in such a way without affecting the present completely is quite awesome.

The Movie shows an overview of NASA and it's work in space exploration.

Most of the images and videos used are old ones. However it does shows and overview on making of ORION Space craft; made specially for Mars. It gives a good info about traveling and approaches to mars from earth.

The difficulties faced by the astronauts in space and the dangers they may be exposed to; the developments made in the space suit over the period. One of the greatest invention of the mankind; the Hubble's telescope; which is helping us to discover lot of new facts about our galaxy. Blackholes one of the most mysterious thing in universe, a slight info about it. A brief info about observatory park on how the space objects are tracked and monitored.

On the whole the movie gives a brief info on how the mankind has progressed so far w.r.t to space exploration, reaching to mars to find life and finding out if it is habitable.

Born Into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids (2004)

A Harsh Reality

The life of the kids born in brothel are in itself is dark and painful. A beautiful portrayal of this reality by photographer Zana Briski. The kids living in the brothels do have a dream and wishes to live a good life but the society doesn't care or accept their wishes or dreams instead they are considered inferior and dark part of society. A Photographer living in a brothel with this kids to cover the true life, feeling, dreams of this kids is quite brave and courageous and trying to teach them something is a very kind gesture. The photographer tries to help these kids by giving them a better education but the most of the schools do not accept these kids because of where they come from; Many of the times the kids parents or guardians do not want the kids to educate and expect them to continue in same line of work as they are in. A effort made by the makers of this film changed the life of two kids at least who continued their education and tried to live a normal life.

Keanu (2016)

Entertaining with some Unpredictable twists.

An entertaining movie with some good sense of humour. Cat can create so much of crime just because of his cuteness never knew that. Appealing story but with some lows. A black guy being George Michael's fan, sounds kind of weird but very nicely portrayed. Movie has some fresh jokes which are not very humorous but will definitely bring a smile on your face. Saw Anna Faris in new movie after quite sometime as usual she was funny as well as crazy in it. How can someone come up with names such as Shark-tank & Tectonic instantaneously in a movie but it was funny. A sophisticated good guy pretending to be a rugged criminal is humorous. Ending of the movie is slightly different but the jokes are till the end.

Luciferous (2015)

Avoid it if you can. Seriously Lacking Screenplay & Effects probably due to production restriction. Making of movie could have been much better. Since the movie Written, produced, Directed & Starred in it by Alex the husband in the movie; The wife and the daughter of the Alex have starred in it too. The word mommy is being screamed by the kid in every 2 minutes which is quite irritating. Overall the concept was Okay. However the actor Alex was good at playing psycho in the movie. You would lose interest after watching it for 15 minutes. The movie was quite subtle when showing blood in it. Most of the movie was predictable but the ending was little different.

Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015)

An entertaining, innovative and hilarious movie

A truth about Relationship represented in hilarious way. This has no connection with part 1 whereas most of the characters are same as from part 1. Movie is about the life of three couples where the males are best friend of each other, they find their love of life on the same day. The first 30 min of the movie is bit boring and really stupid jokes and after that till half time it's OK; after the half time the movie is good with really innovative and hilarious dialogues with Catchy non stop speaking of Gogo character which was really funny. A really let down was addition of numerous songs which bears no co-relation with the movie and very irritating during the movie. A real subtle, new and funny ending. Overall the movie was good, however change of the cast completely would have been much better. Definitely worth watching.

A Nice Plot and good casting. Seriously lacking screenplay. Dunno it was action thriller or spoof movie, some of scenes were really funny. Dialogues completely sucked. Action was terrible. Whereas the suspense was little surprising. Something must have really gone wrong while making this movie. GunShot Firing were really bizarre. It was very surprising for me that a person can survive for days after getting shot and with no medical help. Sex scenes included in it too sucked. Actors where seriously faking everything in the movie. Avoid watching this movie unless you really are a big fan of one of the actors of this movie.

A Blind date in itself is a confusing thing that too with a wrong person is funny.... Blended with comedy and emotions "Man up" is entertaining The triathlon can be represented with a humour, never expected that... It's true that the right person for you might not be the person you are attracted too but the one with whom you can be true-self. As usual Simon Pegg the hilarious one turned out to be sarcastic one in this movie. However Lake Bell, dunno whether she was speaking really fast or it's a effect, anyhow she was hilarious and totally lovable. Never expected the ending will be funny too. People who like comedy movies must watch it.

A Outstanding performance by Robin Williams. It's touchy and passionate. "A old age man stuck in his life which he never wanted to live meets a youngster. Living with wife whom he loves but due to social nonacceptance of gay people hides his true self from society and family. The attraction and love towards the youngster makes him to realizes the true self of him. A point comes where everything is known to his wife and unable to continue his old life he parts way with his wife and starts living the life he wanted." Movie lacks a bit of screenplay and gets stretched but however the performance of Robin Williams keeps you hooked on to it. A Must watch movie.

Jurassic World (2015)

Watch it if Dinosaur's fascinate you...

When you hear the word Jurassic first things comes in mind are Dinosaur's and Steven Spielberg. Jurassic World is not the continuation of the previous movies however the concept mainly roams around the having a dinosaur into existence in todays life.

In Jurassic world you will see not only the renowned Dinosaur's but also the hybrids created by humans. The movie is mostly predictable but what keeps you hooked to it is the little jokes in movie which happen in the middle of action and serious situations. The middle portion of the movie runs pretty slow but same is compensated with surprises. Actress Bryce Dallas Howard has given a very good performance in the movie, even act Irrfan khan has acted well no doubt why he has been frequently seen the Hollywood movies. Actor Chris Pratt has been as usual the naturally humorous person in the movie whereas the kicks of humour are being given actor Jake Johnson. When it comes to movie on dinosaur's T-Rex has to be in it no doubt why he was called the Alpha of Dinosaurs. Dinosaur's where extinct at once so that humans can survive, you will totally believe it if see this movie.

On the whole if you have seen any of the Dinosaur's Movie and you liked it then go for it.

Gabbar Is Back (2015)

Fight against corruption

Gabbar is a remake of Tollywood movie Ramanna for a start; I would say another wrong bet by Akshay Kumar. The concept of making a movie on fight against corruption in itself difficult to portray on screen that too when the fight has been started by one person. However makers of the movie were lucky that it had no business competition but by casting a star hero won't make the movie appreciable.

Well, the first half of the movie was bearable but after interval the movie runs like a man chased by an animal in the dark with no knowledge of surrounding.

The title of "Gabbar is back" didn't bring the intensity and entertainment of Gabbar in movie and as well as in theaters. On the whole if you want to watch a movie this weekend with that extra bucks you have and you don't mind if it goes waste you can sure give it a try.
