Medieval (2022)
Slow, disjointed and dull
I'm a big fan of all things from the Roman period, through the dark ages and into the medieval era. This was a story that I'd not come across and therfore was interested to watch. It didn't take long for my interest to drop away.
The story itself is, frankly, not very interesting, or at keast this telling of it is not. It's a drawn out account of good guy v bad guy revolving around the kidnapping and moving of a princess across Europe for a reason that I never fully grasped. None of the principal characters (of which there are far to many) are well drawn out. You hardly know who they are, and you certainly don't know why they are there. The film jumps from scene to scene with little cohesion. The odd battle/fight scenes that break up the monotony are good, possibly saving the film from an even lower score.
Oh, and there's Michael Caine, and a lion.
Vikings: Death and the Serpent (2020)
What a fight
Not one for reviewing, happy for others to make up their own minds. But THAT fight. Superb.
