Anne with an E (2017–2019)

Reliving the mystery of my childhood
9 December 2018
For starters, this is not true to the books, which I read repeatedly and not like the original series either, but...the visuals are magnificent and Anne is a character that is so complex, I marvell at the acting range of someone so young able to pull it off so seamlessly. I am transported back to my childhood, when I still found the "Wonder" in things. I am reminded that true Joy is found in simple things, like the warmth of the sun, the cool breeze on a sweaty face, the sand in my toes, climbing trees and just being a child, before the technological evolution. These are the things the youngest children of our time are in fear of missing out on, as there muscles wither away sitting in front of screens. Where did the "wonder" go? This show reminds me, and even though my life is complicated and busy, I can still "wonder" at nature, and my children's smiling faces, and the many other things I stopped seeing.

This Is Us (2016–2022)

Amazing Drama
2 October 2016
Wow, what a come back for TV Drama. This is a multi layered, moving and totally relate-able show and so so entertaining. I am already so invested and have only watched two episodes. The leading cast are amazing with some of my all time favorites (looking at you Milo) and supporting cast seem more than adequate to keep up. The writers have their finger to pulse of what is really important to people today and throughout all of time... LOVE. It ticks so many boxes for me. I have been waiting for a show that I can safely watch with kids in the room, without soft porn, violence, bad language, and in general inappropriate story lines. This incredible show proves to be not too soppy, funny enough to break tension, loads of character diversity, Mandy Moore, I mean so many more reasons to fall in love with "This Is Us". That is all. Peace out

MacGyver: The Rising (2016)

Just the Worst
25 September 2016
This pilot was just truly awful. I am a great fan of MacGyver, but within 10 minutes I was throwing things at the TV. Never have I so looked forward to and been so disappointed by a remake. It is so bad it is not even worth giving any details about the episode in case you get curious and give it a go, honestly waste your time on something else.

I am not normally a critic but I felt so strongly about this I just had to put it down to save others the disappointment. I hope for the actors sake, this doesn't go to air for the full amount of episodes so they might not carry the shame and humiliation of being apart of it. Even if it gets better, it has to come back from so far it will not make it even passable. Okay; rant over; and to cleanse myself I will watch the pilot for the original series and return to how TV is supposed be...

entertaining.

I think it is great Aussie TV
18 August 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I cannot understand why people don't like this show? Yes there are stares and quiet pensive moments, but never without a reason. The acting is very good, it is visually stunning, and the story line requires thought;a lot of thought/thinking. TV is supposed to be entertaining and I was definitely entertained. It is exciting to see a women writer who is pushing the boundaries of what we think we know about death, the afterlife and the beings that inhabit the dimensions we can't see. I am excited for season 2, and not to have answers, but so that I ask more questions; so I am thinking and forced to learn something new.

Final Verdict: My kind of TV. Loved it.

A very moving film
8 April 2015
I have a husband and father with PTSD from combat and found this film (with all its little inaccuracies that other reviewers insist on pointing out) a window into their experience, that they can never tell me about. I didn't focus on what was credible or not, just the emotional intensity of the tours and the readjustment back to family life. Whether or not Kyle's views where accurate didn't taint that he was doing the best he knew how with the information he had. I can agree that America is manipulated by the government/media and they used this influence at 9/11 to start a war, but that was not what this movie was about IMHO. It was about family... and specifically, a soldier's family. I love my husband, and feel so separated from him at times because I can not understand. Thank you Clint Eastward for showing all that see this film a tiny glimpse of what our Guys are living and maybe the why they live through it too. Their sacrifices are not in vain if they believe they are doing the right thing (on all sides).

it is he who will save us.
