Star Trek: Picard: Watcher (2022)
Stop saying this breaks continuity with Time's Arrow
This is a different timeline. So Picard never goes back in Time's Arrow. So Guinan shouldn't know who he is. It's really that simple. It doesn't matter if this was before the divergence because the Picard that was supposed to go back in time in Time's Arrow is from after the divergence.
Not to mention this is all part of Q's manipulations so nothing's off the table anyway.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Kamino Lost (2021)
This one really fell flat
Nothing in this episode was compelling, it was just an escape from a planet. Characters had a few discussions on the way but nothing ever came of them, none of the characters ever changed or had an arc, and there was this whole melodrama about an annoying droid. For a season finale this was subpar and it amazes me that part 1 of the finale was 10x more exciting. Still looking forward to season 2 I guess.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Infested (2021)
Stop waiting for characters you know to show up and appreciate the worldbuildling
This was a fun episode with the great comic relief character Cid at the forefront. I loved seeing the Pyke syndicate and Roland was a pretty good addition to the episode.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Devil's Deal (2021)
I want you to imagine an episode of Mandalorian about Poe Dameron's parents
So say the 4th episode of Mandalorian season 2 is different. Instead of him going back to Nevarro, it starts on Yavin 4 and Poe is growing up with his parents. The Imperial remnant is trying to claim the system and we get a boring political story, interspersed with scenes of Poe and BB-8 on stupid hijinks. Oh and Poe constantly says "I want to be a pilot!" "Are you a pilot?" "It's my biggest dream to become a pilot."
At one point Mando stops by, and in exchange for his ship being repaired, he fights for Poe's family for a while.
I'm guessing you probably wouldn't like it, right? Well, neither did I.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: One World, One People (2021)
The worst episode
1. Terrible Sharon Carter plot line
2. Nothing is resolved with John Walker, he just joins Bucky again and there's no questioning that he's fit for battle. Shouldn't the police have arrested him at the end?
3. Cringy Karli death scene and Sam monologue.
4. Lazy writing and bizarre editing.
Hereditary (2018)
Derivative pretentious garbage
I never thought this movie would outdo Midsommar as the king of pretentious garbage, with a "horror" atmosphere that falls flat on its face and an ending that made me literally roll my eyes when the credits started.
Fool me once, strike one. Fool me twice, strike three.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 15: The Believer (2020)
Half-filler
Definitely felt like filler in some parts but it was definitely important for the character development.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 14: The Tragedy (2020)
Contender for the best episode yet
Ok, at first I thought it was possible he wouldn't even get to Tython this season, and also that Boba Fett maybe wouldn't show up till next season. But they both happened in the same episode! This one had so many mindblowing moments. My only complain is that it was too short
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Water War (2011)
"I don't believe the Quarren will attack."
Meanwhile, outside:
"Attack!"
Ackbar: "It's an attack"
The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special (2020)
A great homage to the saga!
This a really fun watch with a lot of references and in-jokes about Star Wars that maybe you wouldn't expect them to make fun of themselves about.
The story is also very clever in ways it uses the characters. It makes good fun of Palpatine knowing that Vader will betray him, and then trying to replace him with Kylo Ren. There are even things that happen with sequel characters you wish actually happened in the sequel trilogy.
I only have a couple issues. It drags whenever they cut back to scenes on the Falcon. The time travel story is where it's at. The movie also doesn't seem to acknowledge that Palpatine returned and that Rey is related to him. There were many missed opportunities for comedy using those ideas.
Star Trek: Picard: Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1 (2020)
Very philosophical
Star Trek "fans": We want less action, take time to develop the characters and have philosophical discussion.
Picard: *delivers on that*
"Fans": ERRR MAH GERRD NOTHING HAPPENS ON THIS SHOW
The Mandalorian (2019)
Really good start
The first episode was a predictable but entertaining start to the series, exactly what it needed to be. I'm excited for the next episode (but not as hyped for Episode 9). People who over-hyped the ending may be underwhelmed at what it actually is.
Star Wars Resistance (2018)
Pretty okay, will probably get better when season 2 kicks off
The show was watchable, the first season had a great arc about the First Order slowly occupying a base called the Colossus. The second season will bring the Colossus into space so it will feel a little more like Star Wars and be more narratively interesting in general.
