The Preppie Connection (2015)
Pretty entertaining, but the ending stunk lol
Ok, all in all it was pretty typical entertainment. I was kind of along for the ride all the way, it was cool to watch poor person become rich, etc. Kind of like 21, etc. Always whenever the poor person goes and gets rich he gets busted lol.
Acting was like... well it was kids, so you know.
Honestly I would recommend this if you're bored, looking for something to watch. It's intriguing, and kept my attention all the way through.
The only thing that killed me was the ending. It was incredibly typical. After-school special. I couldn't handle it lol. Like, beyond "Drugs are bad, mmkay" ending.
Basically when the show looks like it's over, just go ahead and turn it off lol. Nothing special. Well, sort of. Actually there's one interesting part in there.
I liked it because it reminded me of a friend that used to get caught up in stuff like that. Lol. He actually got off the hook though! lol
Was busted and ended up with a mistrial because the car had been searched after detention lasted much longer than it should.
The Punisher (2017)
Pretty damn enjoyable.
Solid watch. Decent background show, also works as a great show to watch. Feels like a TV show, which is nice.
Enjoy the "don't take no bull**** from nobody" theme which hits home with loner moralists like me. Tough guy thing is good too. Any hard working m**therf**ker will enjoy this show.
Not much of a family watch, but if you're a single dude, it's got the good juice to it. Gore, guts, fight scenes, and some cerebral vibes in there (think fight or flight)
Overall this is a good man's kind of show. In a world that likes to shit on man's true character.
Black Mirror: Nosedive (2016)
This Episode Helped me Socially Engineer my Life
Yeah, guess who made a chart "by year" of my social value for the last 16 years
This guy. After watching this episode.
And I recommend you do the same. This episode sits on a *golden* concept that really should be explored further.
I thought the acting was pretty good. They do well at representing different people's "social value-s"
Probably a very "classic" Black Mirror episode that really represents the theme of the overall series. "Tech is great, *but* then".
Watching this girl hit rock bottom is hard. Epically hard. A bear to watch.
Um.
Can also empathize a bit, after hitting rock bottom after failing med school, and then broadcasting suicidality to closest friends. Talk about going from top to bottom lol. Yes, this was my life, for real.
Settings, scenery, acting, *all* on point, even the "overacting" is depicted extremely well. I love the extremely measured cookie bite at the beginning lol. Totally did it.
They picked a great character for this thing, too. A real 50's picker-upper, by the bootstraps with a smile type.
This story follows a fantastically wonderful plot that you know is going *straight* into the ground, and leaves you cringing all the way. Kudos.
Also, the ending leaves a terrible taste in your mouth. That's why I couldn't give it a 9. Was hoping for some kind of... resolution there, maybe like a plot twist or some ****. That would have fixed the rhythm of the episode.
8/10!! Enjoyed it! With some epic like... "ick" moments lol
Black Mirror: Crocodile (2017)
Fantastic beginning, hits a snag with terrible acting and then stalls out
So the lead actress (the killer) was pretty excellent from the beginning. I'm not much of a fan of the feminist look / "thing"...which is a theme with a lot of these episodes... >-(... but still her character really fits the bill here.
Lots of character development towards the beginning, then they introduce this indian actress who...
well she just seems more fake than anything... too much weird breathy overtones, kind of like she's trying to convey seduction (and failing) during her whole acting endeavor, and the cinematography for her scenes is annoying as well (massive close-ups)
They use that theme... the song... the song they keep trying to make into a "Black Mirror" trope... and as usual it feels forced. Except this episode they keep playing it.... over and over ad nauseum
In the end, the killer character carries a sort of typical plot, with some interesting twists toward the middle/end, over some obstacles with a rather momentum-killing indian "actress" who tries more to act as a lead than an agent (thinking Tom Hanks in Catch Me if You Can, who regularly gets shit on)
Also I'm not completely sure how our killer managed her first kill. I guess it worked out okay to have a clean death via hitting your head on the ground...
she sure does bludgeon a lot. lol
a decent watch I guess. oh the part where the killer starts using the machine was pretty sweet.
Black Mirror: White Bear (2013)
Absolutely Hated this Episode
Ok seriously - just do yourself a favor, and don't watch it. It sucks. It's not even cool, and it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Like seeing something on the internet that you wish you'd never seen.
The story is also told horribly. The badly-pieced together story is like a Memento episode that comes together into some dumb bullshit.
Doesn't make any sense, this one reeks of forced screenwriting based on themes present in the show.
TL;DR: Garbage story-telling meets super bad vibes.
I've seen **much** better episodes of Black Mirror. This one was truly a sh*tsterpiece.
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (2002)
Hilarious
Let me go ahead and set your ways straight here.
This movie is absolutely hilarious. From start to finish. Oedekirk's timing is beyond ridiculous. And just when you think he's about to bomb a joke, some guy kills a dog with a massive fart. Good grief.
Honestly this movie has me dying... like.. absolutely dying of laughter every single time I watch it. It is a bombshell from start to finish. Try not to throw up, you will laugh that hard.
