Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Bore off!
1 thing made me watch this movie & thats Tom Hardy who is one of the finest actors of his or any generation but oh my god how i wish i hadn't of bothered Tom Hardy i completely Wasted in this film & i hear there's to be a sequel!!, I'm not gonna give any spoilers as I honestly can't remember any worthwhile parts of the movie to talk about oh wait I've thought of one... there's lots & lots & lots & a little bit more of driving in dust!! So I'll end this review by saying if you want to see Mad Max then see the REAL Mel Gibson Mad Max don't waste your time on this dross!!
Dracula (2020)
Bloody good!
First off Don't listen to the reviews rubbishing this retelling of Dracula! Its brilliant! I'm puzzled by the reviews stating that it's got nothing to do with the book, well its called Dracula..check,Count Dracula lives in Transylvania...check, Johnathan Harker goes to stay in the castle to complete the sale of Carfax Abbey...check,i could go on so this is based on the book which it states but its most definitely a Mark Gattis (League of Gentleman) retelling i look forward to parts 2 & 3!!
Once Upon a Time in London (2019)
Well above average!
From the boys that brought us Rise of the Footsoldier O.U.A.T.I.L is a quality British gangster movie & unlike most so called true stories this is actually based on real events in fact if you read Jack Spot & Billy Hills autobiographies this film is spot on! So don't believe other reviews that say "its confused" or "it doesn't know what kind of a movie its trying to be", just kick back & enjoy a good gangster flick sure its not Goodfellas but then again its not trying to be
The Amityville Haunting (2011)
better than expected from The Asylum
First off this is one of those movies that you shouldn't take any notice of the poor reviews because i did & i didn't watch it for a long time because of the poor reviews & when i did watch it i was pleasantly surprised its by far not the worst found footage movie I've seen also its not the best far from it but given that it was probably made for £20 i think they did well with what they had, also you don't have to wait till the last half hour for something to happen so if you're like me & you're sick of trawling through the utter crap they call horror movies today you can do worse than to give The Amityville Haunting a go you to will probably be surprised as also i think its the best of the recent Amityville movies they seem to be pumping out.
The Big Short (2015)
ISDA's,AAA rated loans sounds crap?.....WRONG!!!!
The Big Short is a brilliantly filmed movie which explains the economic collapse in a manner that is both didactic and engaging. Documentary, mockumentary, drama, thriller . . . whatever genre you want to call this film, it is money.
The plot of this movie is not actually the important part, and there are no spoilers since it already actually happened. The Big Short tells the story of the collapse of the housing market from those who managed to profit from it: an investment firm in California, a group linked to Morgan Stanley, and two college kids who were clever enough to figure out exactly what to invest in. The narrator is actually another involved party, a trader for Deutsche Bank.
Christian Bale is brilliantly morose,Steve Carell is amazingly Manic Brad Pitt is at his melancholic best PLEASE WATCH
Unbroken (2014)
Jack O'Connell gets better & better
first off WATCH THIS MOVIE!don't make assumptions based on some of the poor reviews, this movie is as gripping as it is moving & Jack O'Connell is surely going to be our version of Leonardo Decaprio.Id never heard of the real Louis Zamperini before watching this movie & I'm sure Mr Zamperini would be very pleased with the end result,i cant think of any bad performances in this movie & i thought Domhnall Gleeson (Phil) is one for the future.Another thing to look out for is the great method acting in this film by Jack O'Connell,Domhnall Gleeson,Finn Wittrock (Mac) for the shear amount of weight they had to lose Great performances all round
The Phoenix Project (2015)
3 Blind Mice
first off i implore you,if you value your time please find another movie to watch or failing that slap some paint on your wall & watch that dry it'll be more entertaining believe me!.i initially thought The Phoenix Project was going to be another foray into the 'Crazy Re-Animated Guy' genre but after 20 minutes i was sadly mistaken, but if your thing is doing lame experiments on mice then this film is definitely for you,the 4 main protagonists Corey Rieger-Perry Frank,Andrew Simpson-Devin Fischer,David Pesta-Ampersand (i know i've never heard of that name either) Garner & Orson Ossman-Carter Watts actually do quite a good job given that the script by Tyler Graham Pavey who is also the director is non existent suffice to say this movie is by far & away the most mind numbingly dull movie i've seen in many a year & to make the movie even worse it feels as though throughout its building to some kind of climax but it never happens & it just fades to a whimper,so do yourself a favour & watch Re- Animator the movie this movie wishes it was!
