Saving Marriage (2006)
At least we can talk about it!
This documentary tries to keep an unbiased view about the opinions for and against homosexuality and marriage rights to those who are homosexual.
The common sense of it all however has been plagued with opinions from the religious right and emotional arguments by homosexuals and their sympathizers.
It is illegal for a man and a man to marry, just as it is illegal for a brother and sister to marry. Both groups are not causing any harm, but yet both groups wish to be considered normal with the desire to re-define marriage.
The hypocritical thing is, homosexuals continue to tout "Equality for all" when in actuality its equality for just homosexuals. Other sexual minorities are not being considered, and why wouldn't they if homosexuals are granted the right to be married. Homosexuality is part of a sexual minority, however they are hypocrites. The "Equality for ALL" message basically means that heterosexuals and homosexuals are normal, all other sexual minorities are not.
People need to start using common sense when they argue against homosexuality. Homosexuals look down on pedophiles because of the "ick" factor. The truth is many heterosexuals look down on pedophiles and homosexuals because of the "ick" factor as well.
Is it true to say that homosexuals are bigots against a brother and sister marrying, or for a 16 year old boy to marry his 39 year old teacher (Mary Kay LeTourneau)???? Of course they are, and hence that is the hypocrisy! Marriage has always been about one man, one woman, unrelated and above the age for consent.
Don't fall into the propaganda of "Equality for all" because it is not about the "ALL". Its actually about homosexuals and their battle with their conscious to be counted as normal as heterosexuals.
Zoo (2007)
A very daring film!
I recently caught the film "Zoo" and noted that it portrays bestiality members as normal people and victims of an unfair world... a world who does not understand their lifestyle (much like the homosexual debate). This film seem to gloss over the real psychological issues behind people who choose this life. The psychology aspect into deviant sexuality is non-existent. Though in todays time it is still fashionable for society to ridicule and hate human animal relationships, but sooner of later the cries of these people will grant them the same acceptance that homosexuals are slowly getting today.
Psychology has abandoned any public research into the reasons behind deviant sexual practices, because of the public pressures during the 70s protests. For some reason or another we've thrown our faith into genetics as a means to define a persons sexual orientation. We don't use genetics to explain murderers, child molesters, homelessness, and other unorthodox social lifestyles, so why is homosexuality given a pass? Just some food for thought.
The similarities between homosexuals and bestiality lovers is uncanny! Take a look at the Cleveland Street Scandal in London... Homosexuals were criminalized much like bestiality lovers are today!
Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired (2008)
An excellent controversial documentary
Returning from Sundance (2008), I've concluded this is by far the best documentary I've seen this year. Roman Polanski is a great artist, there is no doubt his directing style has left an imprint on American films. Mention Polanski's name and you'll either think of "Chinatown" and/or pedophile. This documentary humanizes this pedophile, and showcases his obvious talent in film making.
No doubt, Roman Polanski is an artist and a criminal. Films like Rosemary's Baby and Chinatown are considered classics. His latest film, The Pianist won the Academy Award. It was with great enthusiasm to see if whether or not ROman Polanksi would accept the award in person. However, fear of being criminally prosecuted prevented him from entering the United States to accept the award.
This particular event, sparked the interest of Marina Zenovich to do a documentary on Polanski. Zenovich provides a lot of interesting archive files on the Polanski pedophile incident. This film even excuses his criminal act with what many homosexuals excuse their sexual lifestyle as; that it is after all a healthy sexual appetite that is non-threatening. In this documentary, psychiatrist's provide a psychological profile of Polanski... and he is diagnosed as being a normal male.
From the 1970s interviews to the current view of Polanksi, the viewer is given a picture that Polanksi has been unfairly treated in the States. Zenovich hints that a moral social vendetta of the times (1970s) against Polanksi was the main reason for him fleeing to France. Everyone was out to get Polanski, and the laws that coincide with Judeo-Christian teachings, were used to make an example out of him. During the 1970s, many sexual deviants were demanding rights. The most popular one winning the battle were homosexuals, who pressured the ADA to take them off the mental disorder list. During the early 80s, NAMBLA was discouraged to march with homosexual activists. Pedophiles and other sexual deviants are still on that list.
So why so much hatred for Polanski? I'm sure you'll ask yourself this question after you view this movie.
My commentary: With many stories appearing in the news today like Mary Key LeTourneau engaging in underage sex and then marrying her young lover, it is a clear indication that society may view consensual underage-adult sex as harmless as homosexual sex in no time. For the record, I personally see any form of sex that deviates from normal heterosexual adult sex as deviant.
There are numerous crimes being committed against children, the example would be the countless of homosexual underage activities occurring in Catholic churches. Any forced sexual act is a crime, but what about consensual sexual acts? Consider the fact that 14 year olds are engaging in sex within their age range, why would it be a crime if an adult engages in sex with that same 14 year old? "To Catch a Predator" (a popular show catching pedophiles) shows many pedophiles interested in engaging in sex with 14 year olds. Those who would accept homosexuality as "normal" and not accept consensual sex between a minor and an adult as "normal", are hypocrites. Its fair to say that deviant sex (homosexuals & pedophiles), do not require any special rights from any government.
The Twilight Zone: The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank (1962)
Saw this last night on KDOC!
Like one reviewer put it, the twilight zone is just magical. James Best does an excellent job with this character and the reactions from the townspeople are right on. This episode is open to interpretation, but I'm sure after viewing it you'll ponder what has become of his soul.
Although the narration leads us to the conclusion that he is a demon who has gained the power to become a senator, one still may have doubt to what has happened in this hick town.
Great Show! I'm interested in purchasing this whole se to show this to my soon to be kids. There is nothing decent on television anymore, and I'm afraid the imagination that the Twilight Zone offered will never exist again. Shows these days focus too much on sex.
Michael & Me (2004)
Even-handed...
This film was an obscure one to me. I had not even heard of it until recently when a friend dropped it off for me to see. I was always curious on how Michael Moore could be so hypocritical to dismiss any blame from artist Marilyn Manson and place it on another artist (actor) Charlton Heston. I notice Bowling for Columbine never addrressed black crimes, and I found his editing style very fishy. I mean who else at the time really believed Canada the entire country allows people to walk into their homes.
So this brings me to Michael and Me. Larry Elder intelligently and open-mindingly presents his view on his defense of gun ownership. When watching this film I laughed at the idiotic statements made by pedestrians who opposed gun ownerships, I gasped at the rape victim's story and her newly realized empowerment, I had also was amazed at the statistics showing Canada's suicide rate being high.
This film may have not had all of the funding that Michael Moore had. In fact I believe Larry Elder put his own money into this project. It is a shame that this did not receive enough air time in theaters because I feel this film is a great rebuttal to Michael Moore's film.
Common sense has been replaced with political actions. So what if one entire party stands for guns, that should not influence the other political party to be against it completely. Whats more is that we see a lot of hypocrites who oppose guns, and yet hire bodyguards who own guns (Rosie O'Donnell).
Michael and Me is a great film. Lary Elder is brave to make a film against a commercial film like Bowling for Columbine. I believe if anyone is going to watch Bowling for Columbine, they should have this film as a companion piece. Michael and me is much more even handed with the issue of gun ownerships, and Larry Elder presents his material in a much more credible way than Moore has (no chopping of different footage to twist a person's words).
