The Equalizer 3 (2023)
Am I watching the right movie?
Is this Equalizer 3? It sure doesn't feel like it.
First 2 movies were great! Loved them! Saw the rating on this one (Higher than the 2nd one!) so I went into it, thinking I was in for a treat. I'll say this for sure... 10 minutes in, I fell asleep...
Oh man, oh man, oh man....... What the hell went wrong with this one? I love Denzel Washington. Great actor. And he's good in this. But this didn't feel like an Equalizer movie.
First off, it's VERY slow. You get a decent opening sequence with some blood splatter & what not. But after that it's just a dull, plain, bland movie. Also the score/ost/music was VERY weird & annoying. It really bothered me that they didn't even bring back the original Equalizer theme.
Seriously, the music is VERY bad.
The ending is... Well... it's an ending I guess? If you're expecting McCall to kill the final bad guy in brutal fashion like the last 2 movies... Don't get too excited. It's actually a VERY boring death. I was counting on the watch with McCall and wondering "bro, when's this dude gonna be dead?" We literally follow this guy to his death for like 2 mins....
So what was the point of this movie? Other than give Robert McCall his happy ending, I don't really know? Again, I love the first 2 movies. Was VERY excited for this one. But unfortunately, it didn't deliver at all. I will say it delivers utter disappointment.
It took a couple years for the same writers of the first 2 movies to write this script to the final chapter... Seeing as how the 2nd film ended, that could've been the finale & to me, it will be.
VERY disappointed. If you're expecting this to be on par with the first 2 movies, I promise you... You'll be disappointed. I'll only give it a 4/10 since some of the kills were good & denzels acting but that's really it. I'll never watch it again though.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
I couldn't actually finish it.....
Y'all ever see the Halloween franchise?? Well, this would be the Halloween Resurrection of the Indiana Jones (and I'd rather watch that trash over this again)... What in high hell was this? This was an absolute horrible movie.... The opening sequence was actually decent; but after that, it just falls down BIG TIME. This movie makes both Temple of Doom & Kingdom of the Crystal Skull look like masterpieces.... I have my issues with those, but they felt like Indiana Jones movies. This one did not. I will have to fast forward to the ending just to see how the "end" this character that they've already ruined. I'd like to see the send off atleast (and I don't have high hopes of it being done well) but other than that, this is the second movie in history that I've walked out of the theater from... (First one being 2019's Black Christmas) I think I managed to sit through 50 mins, which felt like a lot of effort 😂
Urban Explorer (2011)
This is literally Wolf Creek.....
So before diving in (and this review contains spoilers) I wanna say one thing to those who haven't seen this, go watch Wolf Creek first (just trust me) then follow up by watching this. So now onto the review (which again contains spoilers.) I remember watching a BRUTAL clip that was shown on YouTube of a character being partially skinned alive & I would later find out that it was to this film. I went into this film empty headed, knowing nothing, it looked brutal & of course scary from the clip I watched. Now while I thought it was a decent film I noticed 2 things. 1. It didn't have any subtitles so I didn't know exactly what was being said, I just had to follow through with what was going on. Wasn't hard and I think I managed ok. But number 2... Being the BIGGEST thing i noticed was that this film was a DIRECT COPY of the film Wolf Creek that came out in late 2005. Literally, it's Wolf Creek. Ok, a few things are different. 1, obviously the setting where this film takes place in an abandoned tunnel/underground, whereas Wolf Creek takes place in the Outback of Australia. There's a few more characters here than Wolf Creek. But the literal last half of the movie is a copy of Wolf Creek. The killer being as sadistic as Mick Taylor, 2 characters being centered as the "Finals" only to be met with death, one being an exact rip off of the famous "head on a stick" just tried to be done in a different matter for shock value. Anyways I'm not saying this movie is bad, but it's almost an exact replica of the film Wolf Creek. Would recommend watching that first before watching this. 5/10.
