Ride to Hell: Retribution (2013)
Amazing game
This is one of the most underrated games out there. The story is engaging and has some great character development. The graphics are beautiful. The on-foot game play is very intense and the fighting mechanics are great along with the Gears-style TPS system. There are also exciting motorcycle segments punctuated throughout the game. It is a good length at 21 hours. I also recommend buying the DLC. This is personally my GOTY for 2013. The sound design is also very noteworthy. I like the excellent voice acting as well. This is also pretty mature so there are going to be a few sex scenes and some extreme violence. There are also some great environments to explore.
The Walking Dead (2010)
Overrated
The Walking Dead is one the more overrated shows on TV. The only thing that makes it stand out is the zombies, but the quality of each episode can range from good to utterly dull. The main plot focuses around a group of archetypal characters/survivors. You have the cop leader, the old man, the redneck, the annoying kid, the annoying blonde, etc., etc. None of them are particularly well developed, and none of them are quite interesting except for David Morrissey's character who appears in Season 3. Any character can also be killed off at any time, so this brings in a good level of unpredictability. Most of the performances are well acted, but some side characters have poor acting and you will be glad when they are killed off. There will also be some small things that the actor do repetitively which gets annoying. These things include: almost all of the character muttering at an inaudible level, Rick saying "things" and "stuff" repetitively, Shane rubbing is head, Shane mouth breathing, Dale having a stupid look on his face, and Lori always acting like a b*tch. The show is also far too inconsistent. Sometimes there will be exciting and intense episodes such as escaping Atlanta and the assaults on the prison, whereas others episodes will be painfully dull and pointless. You will also notice many plot holes: -A walker stuck in the mud grabs on to a boy's ankle, but it is not strong enough to pull the boy in and the boy escapes. Later on in this same episode, that exact same walker suddenly has the strength to take down a full grown cow and disembowel a man. -A one-eyed man shoots a man in the head from over 100 yards away with amazing accuracy, but then he misses every other target at point-blank range. This same man can also hit walkers in the head from even farther distances WITH A GOLF BALL. He also aims a gun by looking through a scope with his patched eye. -The leader of the group tells tells the rest of the group "we are at war" but then they spend 3 episodes talking about it before they actually start fighting. -Walkers are attracted to sound, but Deryl is allowed to drive around a loud Harley. -the roads are so empty that Rick and Glenn can converse and look at each other more than the road while driving, but yet Lori still manages to crash on an open road because she is Lori. -the grass somehow stays mowed years after an apocalypse. I could go on and on about the plot holes in this show, but never the less, it can still sometimes be enjoyable. 5/10
