Jak-eun a-ssi-deul (2022)
Great acting! Good script but could be better
I was very impressed by the casts' acting especially Kim Go-eun. She's one of the few actresses that really made me feel her emotions through the screen. Very talented. For the storyline, it was interesting but could be a bit messy especially when the orchid was introduced. It was slightly unclear but I'm glad it was clarified in a way in the final episode. Love how each character was given a deep background story unlike other dramas where they could be a bit dull and uninteresting. If you're looking for a heavy drama to watch, little women could be a great watch for you. Definitely an A-tier drama that had great potential.
13 Reasons Why: Prom (2020)
13 reasons why worst episode
I don't know why this episode is rated so high (relative to the series). It felt like I was watching a poorly made filler episode where nothing happens. This episode is literally just a compilation of dancing teens and poorly written cliches. Most of the scenes were cringe worthy and so hard to watch. All the intensity of the series just disappeared as they aired this joke of an episode. If they cut the final 20 mins of this episode and jumped to the end, it would have been more bearable to watch. And not to be homophobic or anything but, this series (particularly this episode) is trying too hard to represent the gay community. Watch it and you'll see.
The Equalizer 2 (2018)
So-so sequel
I was rather disappointed by this sequel, but it wasn't necessarily a bad movie. The film was still decent as Denzel Washington delivered a good performance. The movie was slightly dragging as it didn't contain as much action as the first movie. The writers put too much story and information into the sequel and it almost feels like as if I was watching a part 3, not a part 2. The story was hard to follow as too much new details were added. It felt like that the writers were trying too hard to deliver a good story rater than delivering good fight scenes (as what is expected from this film). The fight scenes weren't as good as the ones in the first movie. The only fight scene I enjoyed was the ending. There were too much subplots in this movie which were hard to follow and hard to connect with the main plot (like the scenes in turkey, and the scenes with the rich guys drugging a girl which were totally unnecessary and unrelated to the main plot.)
But overall, it was an okay movie. It still kept the authenticity of the story around Robert McCall.
Unfinished Business (2015)
Humour was great, story was okay
This movie was one of the few movies that actually made me laugh out loud. The lines were naturally funny and the jokes weren't forced unlike many comedy movies. The characteristics and personalities of each character was well made as each of them contributed to the authentic humour of the film. Dave Franco impressed me with his role. I personally think that this is one of his best performances. He was able to attract the audience from the very beginning and his character was very funny and likeable.
Although the humour was great, the story / plot was meh. It felt like the writers weren't very serious about delivering the main plot and instead they were focusing on the humour of the film. The story / plot was a big letdown for the film. I believe that the movie would've been great if the writers added more details to the story and not just using such a basic and unappealing plot.
Overall, the movie wasn't bad. It's a good film to watch if you're just looking for a movie to cheer you up and make you laugh.
