Griselda (2024)
Out of touch production
Episode two the yacht scene was my quit moment for this show. Shooting a gun in front of a crowd will lead to panic and fleeing. A quick search on youtube can show you what a crowd reaction is to a gun going off. Now, you have a yacht filled with rich people, bankers lawyers, coked up in their safe space. So everybody who was there at that yacht when the production was running was ok with the people on the boat clapping? CLAPPING??? Who ever wrote that and agreed on that should be fired.
Series like Narcos, Sopranos, Breaking Bad are so impactful because it can happen in real life and they are "real" people. Griselda starts somewhere in the middle where Griselda in real life is already a psychopath but in the show she is a poor hot woman running away with her kids and 1kg of coke. If you wanted to create emphaty and sympathy for this woman. Start of with her being a child prostitute, get in the real and gritty or just accept that the audience will hate her. Just because she is a woman does not mean she has to be likeable.
It is a pity because the environments, clothing and vibes were all there and looked great. The story is also there, hopefully somebody in a few years actually have the guts to realistically tell it.
My Life with the Walter Boys (2023)
Teenagers who aren't teenagers
The actors are all adults, 20+ years olds and you notice it immediately. Also they haven't heard really about phones and their capabilities. Completely out of touch with how teenagers act and behave. Scenarios and dialogues are badly set up and very unnatural. I first thought this was a show from the 1990s with how old it feels. Feels written by someone that is 3 generations removed from teenages and sees the worlds from a perspective of being a teenager in the 1950s.
Also there is zero chemistry between any of the characters. Timelines are completely broken. Break ups weddings, arguments sometimes they take months to resolve and other times it just take a week... it is a mess.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Udûn (2022)
Dumb story mistakes
-Numenor army running full in battle because? No explanation!
-Intense final hours of battle in village, let's chilll and hang back in the tavern to save the 5 hours old rebel 'leader'. Oh yeah, hide the super duper important sword at the last spot that you will defend. No one will expect that.
-Halbrand's horse is quicker than a horse being motivated by elves whispers and he can cut them off because of... ?
-Horse stable sweep is chilling next to the Queen. Sure.
-Numenor fighting scenes are teenage cringe.
So many great shots, some well written scenes, but completely ruined by bad editing and some very cringe children writing by people that should be replaced. If you want to make Vampire Diaries go make that but leave LOTR alone if you can't handle it.
Stranger Things: Chapter One: The Hellfire Club (2022)
Highschool flick set up are for budget horrors
After watching the ending feature of season 3 which was a master work for 4-5 minutes we had goosebumps, hyped up for season 5 and then we got greeted by mostly a highschool flick set up. We stopped the episode after 10 minutes because it sucked.
Next day we gave it another go, but seriously, popular US highschool culture written by adults is just the most cringe you can have. Very disappointed.
Stranger Things: Chapter Six: The Dive (2022)
Please no disney children's scenes
Those scenes with the hacker girl where ridiculous. I was watching with my wife and we literally started to laugh and mock the show for ruining the season with this nonsense. It was completely out of whack and I hope the purge this stuff from season 5.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
No emotional connection if you did not see p1&2
If you didn't see the first 2 movies it is a very empty movie. Loved the fact that the whole wizard community has no issue with killing all non magic folks until a real magical beast says the guy is not pure.
Everybody is just coincidental in the right place, if they were not, it would have been... mass murder. Great story.
Is It Cake? (2022)
Show with potential, host is horrible
Horrible host ruins the whole viewing experience. He does not care and the fake set up jokes are so bad.
In 2022 throwing cake on the ground for entertainment is just being ridiculously wasteful for no reason.
Californication: Faith, Hope, Love (2014)
No point in this episode
This is a weird episode. It doesn't even feel like Californication. Maybe the biggest problem is the fact that it doesn't change anything, just like Karen says. It doesn't get funny, maybe a little bit emotional with the stranger who is married a long time with his wife and who tries to be inspirational. In later episodes it hardly matters. It doesn't make any sense to make or watch this episode. IMO it's the worst episode I have ever seen from Californication. There are absolute no new developments, Hank doesn't really change after this episode. Where is Julia in this episode? Why did we get those flashbacks (that weren't well written or well played)?
Californication: Grace (2014)
Nope
How it should have ended!
Hank starts the episode with writing his love letter for Karen. He is moody, he was drinking, he is stinking.
They all go to the church to marry his daughter. Of course Becca marries in the church where it all started in episode 1 season 1. So what happens: -Hank isn't able to get anywhere near Karen to give his love letter. -Hank has sex with Julia sometime in the episode, while Julia found a nurse costume (aka Julia was the one all along, Karen wasn't --> CASE CLOSED). -Hank's last try to get to sit next to Karen in the church gets broken off by Levon who pulls his father next to Julia. -Hank gets in a little disagreement with the groom.
-Marcy pretended to have had her adventure with Stew. Charlie believes it. In a nice moment of the wedding of Becca, Marcy confesses to Charlie that she didn't. Charlie starts to cry and starts to bless Marcy's privates in the middle of the ceremony.
-Becca gets married.
-Hank drives off in the sunset with Julia and crazy kid Levon's and one of his prostitutes.
The end. There is sex, controversy, he is moody, he is wanted, he messes up with Karen, Marcy and Charlie are crazy, Becca feels left out again.
I don't know what happened, but this season just messed up and should have never been here in the first place.
