Afwaah (2023)

Bravo!!

A brilliant and extremely moving reality of North Indian states. Terrific story,.great execution. I wish they had shown a tragic ending but even poetic ending of the movie is powerful.

The background music and lyrics is equally powerful. When most Bollywood movies busy making propaganda movies to push Govt agenda. To make a movie that expose the political condition of current day India is extremely powerful. The acting by all the actors were great!

The entire credit of this movie should be given to Sudhir Mishra.

Honestly based on the low rating and negative reviews I didn't expect much. But this.really powerful. I wish every Indian access to this movie. And God save my nation from pathetic toxic poltics of polarisation.

Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway (2023)

I don't care about anything but I'm happy that this issue highlighted. The fact that about 60% children taken to foster home Norway are from immigrant. These are international reports. Forget about being concerned about children such a nation don't even deserved to be called civilized. They think that in entire world they know how to take of children and there is no other way. Such a disgusting law. Some of their citizens even have the audacity to justify such acts.

The acting by Rani Mukherjee is absolutely great. And rest of the cast also.acted well. There certain changes made in the movie to highlight the issues and those are understandable.

This is not a perfect but I would still give perfect 10 for subject.

Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)

Laal Singh is not a perfect movie. But in many parts it's better than the original. Director did a great job. Loved the music and song. Overall I loved This movie and strongly recommend people to watch this movie. The best of this movie is that the parts that were just background story in original. They actually utilized those in a way that speaks volumes. They consistently made statement without saying anything. And I thought that was amazing. Kareena kapoor did a great job.

The things I didn't like was clean shaven Aamir Khan. He was not looking suitable for the.character. The part after Kargil war was also bit questionable.

Overall please watch it.

Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022)

It's sad trolls are damaging the rating of genuinely good movie. For me this movie is a 8 but I'm giving 10 to balance the troll.

All the actors did a great job, beautiful cinematography, sets looked larger than life but still I liked, there are several great camera movements and wow moments. I liked this movie more than some of the previous SLB movies. Well done man!!!

This is just like a propaganda movie on Jayalalithaa to impress those people who are her supporters. Mostly concentrated on the love story between MGR and Jaylalitha. Kangana did ok. She didn't do anything speciaI. I only liked the perolformance of Arvind Swami. He didn't tried to do any show off. He remain calm. And performed brilliantly. Movie tried to show how Indian make politicians God. And this probably the reason why our country is in such a bad state. But anyway they justified instead of being apologetic which is a shame!

Dil Bechara (2020)

Good adoptation from the novel.

This was genuinely a good adoptation of The Fault of Our Stars. This movie has many scenes that looked like foreshadowing life of Sushant Singh. For me this was a very disturbing movie to watch. I'm not going to re-watch this movie again.

As casting point of view entire cast did a good job. The new actress did a great job. She looked so convincing as someone who is suffering. Music looks perfect. Background musi someone sounded a bit loud.

But anyway this movie belongs to Sushant. May his soul rest in peace.

Bulbbul (2020)

Absolutely brilliant!

I was not expecting much from this movie given the low rating. But I was completely surprise. This was absolutely fantastic.

Some people confused about the ending. Just let me explain that it was symbolic that don't push a woman to her limits Otherwise she can take form of Ma Kali.

Acting was absolutely first grade. Amazing atmosphere created. Story had lots dept and emotions. And everything wrapped up in just 1 hour 34 mins.

People might complaint about CGI in some parts. But given the budget. I don't have any complaint. This is definitely worthy of our time.

To Strike (2013)

Unintentionally funny

Waar was a propaganda film. In this acting and dialogues were terrible. Background musics were irritating in parts. Some of the serious scenes were unintentionally funny. Like a scene were the guy didn't know that his wife beside him is dead or Indian agents dancing. Significant part of this film is English with peculiar and hillarious accent. At start of the film where Pakistani agents save some hostages. This action sequence was the only decent thing in entire film. This film is mostly dependent on propaganda and jingoism.

Arjun Reddy (2017)

ENDING RUINED THE ENTIRE MOVIE.

There are lots of issues with this movie. Firstly it's not clear that why the girl stared like a guy who almost force her to do everything. The guy was dictating terms and acting creepy. Yet the girl fell in love.

The middle part this movie was really good. There was nice and realistic stituation created. But by the time movie ends. It was absolutely unexpected. It was typical happy ending. Which somehow ruined the realism of this movie.

The moving on with his life with that girl could have still made this film masterpiece and at per with movies like Boyhood in terms journey. But. overall this is a very overrated and overhyped movie. It's very ordinary film not at all a masterpiece. It's not really worth wasting 3 hours. But I'm still giving for a decent middle part.

Raazi (2018)

Good attempt but not great!

This film is inspired from a real life story about an unknown girl who went to Pakistan during 1971 to get secret information for India. Her father decided to marry her off with Pakistani army officer. And she easily get into Pakistan and started working for RAW (Indian Intelligent Agency). This looked great and seemed like great idea. I was also excited as this was directed Megna Gulzar who earlier directed Talvar which was absolutely unapologetic and bold film. The problem with this film is Megna Gulzar looks very apologetic. Same dialogues like Wantan Ke aage koi kuch nehi (nothing comes before nation) repeated several times. She desperately tried to express her views throughout the film. As a result film started looking silly at times. A girl on a mission shivering before killing somebody and crying after every killing looks stupid to me. It looks as if Indian intelligence send an untrained soldier to fight a serious war. Towards climax Sahemat walked pass entire army cantonment so easily even after her husband knows the truth. Also dialogues to to explain that 2 individual of different country was an absolute water-shade moment for me. And at very end Sahemat says that she doesn't want to become like other intelligence officer was ridiculous.

I feel this movie didn't do justice to the bravery that was done by actual spy. It rather shown a weak girl who got into an operation out of emotion but at the end she was apologetic. I don't believe that is true in real life because son this lady is in army. Towards the end it started looking more like an over melodramatic soap opera.

I wish the movie was brutal and real. I feel there was lot of Megna Gulzar and very little of Sahemat. i was wanting more of Sahemat which I didn't got because Megna Gulzar seem apologetic for Sahemat. Songs were good. I still rate this 7 because this was not a bad. It is watchable. There is no wow factor in this film.

At the end I would say this was a good movie but not great. I had huge expectation from this film but didn't match up to my expectation.

War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)

I was wating for the war.. waiting...waiting...wating...and still waiting....

This is undoubtedly the weakest of all the 3 movies. But I believe in seeing as overall prospective. Not just the message and that regards I didn't thought it wasn't absolutely awful. In this film the role of Apes can easily be replaced any terrorist organizations in the world. Even they complaint that they are fighting for survival, for protection, society made them bla bla bla. But should we allow them to eradicate mankind? Secondly world is not so small. There is a world beyond US. So I I'm confuse. Was this movie about war between Apes verses mankind or Apes verses US. To imagine that an avalanche can destroy entire humanity is laughable. At the end I was wondering where are other humans? I was certainly expecting a showdown between Apes and Mankind. But it never happened. Overall I went in to the movie expecting 10 but returned with a 6. The good thing about the film was CGI effect. It was really goo and at no point it was over done. 3D effects were good. There were some scenes that was really intense and created tension. But overall it didn't hold onto it.Message was of the film left lots of unanswered questions.

Jagga Jasoos (2017)

Boring, monotonous, irritating

This is one of the worst film I have ever seen. Firstly Ranbir Kapoor was complete miscast. He never looked like a school. 2nly songs are so irritating that it move your mind out of the film. There are 3 stories which was suppose to be full of suspense and adventure. But unfortunately you will least care about the suspense and story. Everything very predictable. Director tried to do too many things in one film and ended up making complete mess. I always liked Anurag Basu's film. But this time it was a mess.

Naam Shabana (2017)

Nice Film

There are times when u watch film that are better than u expect. I really didn't expect this film to be so good. Some fascinating info on life of spy. Film had a decent pace. As far as acting is concern. Tapsee was brilliant. This film belongs to her and she ruled. Akshay Kumar was as saviour of Shabana was as usual good. Prithvi as Tony was great. This Malayam superstar really made his presence felt. All and all. This was good film and I don't find any reason to complaint.

Racial slurs all over the film

Every Indians have a monkey in their house and India is a country of elephants and monkeys, where people are uncivilized and don't know how to behave with other people. Indians can never be equal to people in west and hence they couldn't find sit beside whites as equal in a party to have dinner. So they didn't got an extra chair and poor Bakshi had to sit lower to everybody.

Let me tell u we Indians don't mind laughing at ourselves but whatever shown in this film was shameful and racist. It shows mentality of people in the west about Indians and how Indians were stereotyped, discriminated as children of lesser God. This film was boring and lame with no story at all. This film is a classic example of racist mentality.

Wazir (I) (2016)

That was Check and mate

I'm sure people like playing chess would love this movie. This movie is about how a prawn moves 1 step at a time and reach at end to become the most powerful player in chess "Wazir".

Performances of all the actors were top notch. And male bonding between Farhaan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan was beautifully shown with great chemistry. Music were melodious and beautiful. Although some portion of films can be predicted. But then there are twist too. I really enjoyed watching this game.

And people love watching thrillers would definitely love this film. So just go for this u won't be disappointed.

Drishyam (2015)

Just Wow!

I really didn't expect this film to be so good. Even the trailer was not so attractive. It was too simple. When the film started for 1st half an hour I felt like I came to watch a very mediocre and ordinary film. In fact we can say that the 1st half an hour was very slow. But once the murder take place. The film just kept building on it reaching new highs. Even the first half and hour that seem like a waste actually add up later beautifully.

Film was absolutely unpredictable and people kept wonder what to expect next. This is remake of Malayalam Film which I haven't seen yet. But after watching this film. I want to see the original. But for me I'm proud of the fact that the story was originally made in India. And idea is as good as any Hollywood film. For me Kahaani was the best thriller India ever made. And I feel this film might just come short by 0.5 points may be.

Acting wise all the lead character was wonderful. But Ajay Devgan as common man who is helpless taking desperate measures to protect his family was brilliant. He downplayed his role and fit the character absolutely perfect. Rest of the cast was also good.

I would suggest whoever read this review please check out this film at least once. And I'm sure u won't repent.

Furious 7 (2015)

Great entertainment for Fast and the Furious fans

I'm quite surprise with some of the negative comments. This film was a continuation of a series and this is the 7th installment So it is quite obvious that those didn't saw or like earlier films of this series got confused or didn't liked this one either. But for those who love Fast and the Furious series. For them this series is getting better with every film particularly after 4th installment.

This film is about revenge and start to end filled great special effects and action sequence which has great entertainment value. Jason Statham was great addition as Ian Shaw. As people are busy talking about Paul Walker. I feel they forgot to mention about Jason Statham as great addition. Vin Diesel was as usual great. But the scene stealer got to be Paul Walker. And that fantastic ending as tribute to star was something every Fast & Furious fans take home with them. That ending also beautifully merged with the story.

Finally a great film with a well deserve tribute and perfect entertainment. It would surely difficult to imagine Fast & Furious series with Paul Walker as Brian.

Children of War (2014)

Promises a lot but delivers very less.

This film really start of well. Some of the scenes were really spine chilling. But as the story progress. It goes nowhere.

This film start with an interview of Indira Gandhi and showing the India's point of view. And I kept waiting till the very end to watch some kind of participation by Indian army during the gorilla warfare and later during conventional warfare. But the film just seem to be getting lost. Instead we were watching prisoner stealing arms from Pakistani cantonment and giving to Mukti Bahini and again coming back to prison. Moving in and out just like moving in her balcony.

Film just chose to show numerous rape and murder scenes in very detail instead of developing any story. All the 3 parallel stories generate lots of interest but end aimlessly. I liked the story of brother and sister story and their effort to reach Indian border. their experience of violence was well shown. But then suddenly changed tract to spiritual Goddess Durga and all lost its realism and effect. End of the story very predictable with bit of melodrama.

This film had a great star-cast who performed really very well. But they completely wasted. At the end film says that there were more than 40,000 rapes committed by Pakistani Army. I thank God that director had only 160 minutes to make this film. Or-else he might tortured us showing 40,000 rapes in detail.

Overall I would say very ordinary movie just one time watch if u have not of options.

Infernal Affairs (2002)

Better version of The Departed

I saw The Departed first and then I heard about this movie. So for me Infernal Affair is the better version of The Departed.

The basic plot of this film is about 2 spies. 1 spying for police and another for gangster. No doubt it is edge of a seat thriller. But this film scores for dept and emotional turmoil that the maker showed so beautifully. Unlike The Departed this film didn't had so much abusive language, violence or any intimating scenes. Instead this film rather had a more spiritual treatment.

One scene that I want to mention is where SP Wong thrown from terrace and followed by confrontation with police.And then in the next scene Tony's friend who was gangster dies by the bullet of police. And the trauma and pain of Tony Leung was shown brilliantly.

Entire movie was like 1 episode which was absolutely brilliant. I gave perfect 10 because I can't give more than 10.
