Boring Over the Top Drama

This is a really boring show with predictable over the top drama. Some of the worst writing and acting I have seen on Canadian television in my entire life. Only watch if you have almost nothing else available to you.

For Hitchcock Fans

If you're not a fan of Hitchcock's then you probably will not get much out of this. It's an average very old movie on the surface, that seems like it was supposed to be a silent film with some talking elements they tried to add after this movie was well along the way to being produced. So it is clumsy with old equipment used, bad sound. But there are those HItchcock touches you just can't miss that elevates this to a must see if you want to understand the master's earlier work and later classics.

Uncle Buck (1989)

Incredible!

John Candy gives one of his very best performances ever in this touching and funny movie by the great John Hughes. When his brother's wife has an emergency with her parents and they can't find a babysitter they're forced to turn to Candy, a slob and a gambling mess-up with no job. Things start off rough but his heart melts and he may not do things the usual way but he gets the job done and he and the kids all come together and help each other become better people. Nothing in the movie is a big surprise or twist but the kids are great and Candy's performance is hilarious and also so touching.

Radio Enfer (1995–2001)

This is a pretty good show. I liked the first couple of series very much. After that it kind of gets old and the stories get worse. Maybe they changed the writers or something. The actors in it are all pretty good. An average or better than average series overall.

This is an incredibly insipid, stupid, boring, poorly written and poorly acted doggy dropping of a show. Avoid watching this even by accident.

Falcon Beach (2005 TV Movie)

Not Bad

As far as cheesy teen dramas go this one isn't so bad. It's nowhere near as good as the original DeGrassi series as far as realism and drama and acting and writing etc go but it's better than say The OC or 90210 (at least the new one). It's campy and the acting is bad but those other show are way more over the top and don't care at all about performance so much as the hair of the 40 year old actors playing high school kids. Worth checking out if you're into this stuff just don't expect too much and you'll be fine.

Friday the 13th: The Series (1987–1990)

Great Anthology Series

This was a great series that really had nothing at all to do with the Friday the 13th movie series, or at least was barely related to it by a thread. It's about a store filled with haunted antique items that a man worked hard to collect, but when he died or was killed a lot of items were accidentally sold so now the relatives who inherited the store have to track those items down before they bring harm to the people who now have them. It's simple idea for a show but there were a lot of great, fun episodes with different kinds of items that they had to either get for the first time or get back and lock back safely away in their store, or destroy them.

I kind of like Tom Green or at least I used to. Never really or anyway very rarely found his public ambush style comedy pranks funny but he seems like a friendly guy probably and you can't deny he was an original voice and he was fearless in what he would do. I'm surprised he never got punched by an angry person or parent at some point when he was screwing around with real people who didn't know he was a comedian.

Anyway this cancer special is one of his better things but still not all that funny. He had testicular cancer and had to have one or both removed so he turned it into a comedy documentary about cancer which is his over the top in your face style. Unfortunately none of his comedy skits were very funny maybe because it is such a serious and sad topic. But really also I just didn't think much of it was funny. Talking with a doctor or joking with his friend about his balls or singing a song in his bad voice with only a few notes that went on too long. Give him this though anyone like me who watched did get a reminder to check themselves out for testicular cancer more often and he really put himself out there.

Not Bad

Greg Thomey is a likable TV host and he's witty and funny. I like the idea for the show and he is a great host for it. The writing could have been better but as far as Canadian comedy shows go this one is better than the average.

Some OK Pranks

I see the low rating here and I kind of get it because a lot of the pranks just were not very good ideas from the beginning or maybe they were but then didn't get pulled off right but that's the same thing for every prank show, you can't expect it all to work, and some of them did and were funny. What were you expecting a perfect show?

I've seen much worse Canadian comedy programs. Sure this isn't the best comedy show ever but it's not bad and the time goes by quickly enough. It's weird and sometimes the jokes don't quite work or at least for the audience they don't but what are you expecting a reunion of SCTV or something?

Best of Open Mike with Mike Bullard (1998– )

Not So Bad

This was a show that would clip together that week's "best of" clips of Open Mike with Mike Bullard. Yes that show was quite notoriously cheap and bad with a very awkward host but this pieced together version with all the worst bits cut out wasn't so awful. I could sit through it and it summed up the week's best guests and everything with all the best things they had to say. Not so bad anyway.

I Don't Get The Hype

So they take an entire already made movie that's not that great by itself and then add a bunch of jokes to it like we all do at home anyway? It's the whole movie they show us so they don't really have to do too much work in adding more original stuff and also the movie is bad so it's not something worth watching anyway unless it is to make fun of which we all end up doing ourselves at home anyway. I'd rather cut it up myself and with my friends than watch and listen to these people trying to do it. The acting is very hammy too.

It's Like "Country Side" Plus "Homicide" Get It???

What a brilliant title I mean it's about going to the country side which is usually like a happy place but then there are homicides that happen there which is a big surprise and not a happy thing so it's like Country-cide get it? That's a very awesome title unfortunately it's all down hill from there when you get to how good---I mean bad---this movie is. Actually by bad I really mean awful because this movie is grade A for Awful.

Gaming Show (In My Parents Garage) (2014–2016)

For Kid Gamers

This is an unnecessary followup to the funny web series and not so funny TV series. This movie isn't very funny and just seems like they're cashing in on their former shows with a story that's not that great. Nothing special about this one I'm afraid.

Important Family Show

This is a very important family show because in recent years so many shows are just a wasteland of pointless silly entertainment with no real point other than a very thin tacked on message tacked on in a klutzy. This show has real morals and lessons taught in an entertaining and non high handed way. Kids like the show but also learn from it and that I like. More shows should be like this.

This is an All Right Show

This show is all right. I do get what a lot of the reviewers here are saying, that's it can get boring and talking heavy and that the comedy really drags sometimes but that's the kind of show this is supposed to be with some very subtle and understated stuff. But I also disagree with the really glowing reviews here, because frankly this show just is not that great either. It's worth checking out and you may not like it or you may think it's quite good. If you don't like it you don't have to watch it remember!

This is a decent show. There's good acting in it and some good darkly comic moments too. Story could be better and it kind of goes off the rails a bit by the end.

Dark Rising: The Savage Tales of Summer Vale (2011)

I have sat through two Dark Rising movies and several episodes of this Dark Rising TV series as well, there is also another series and maybe another movie unbelievably but I have had enough of this show. It was fun while it lasted to watch this story and make fun of it, the acting is the worst and whoever wrote it is either obviously making fun of us by having such a stupid story or they are your typical pothead grinding out script after script and actually thinking it is good. The lead is a good looking girl with very large boobs and they cram her into tight outfits and have her fight. The show might be OK except she also has to act which she can't do very well but then again neither can anyone else in this show. That is too harsh she's actually not a bad actress don't get me wrong, compared to most other token hot girls in shows she is average at worst but she won't be winning any awards. It's also hard to tell how bad the actors are when the lines they have to say are so horrible. I can't believe they actually got Michael Ironsides to be in this but I guess everybody has their price and needs rent money from time to time. The second movie is even stupider in fact from the first movie which was also terrible the quality has only gone downhill except for the quality of the special effects which gets better. Anyway don't waste your time on this unless you're sitting around with a few friends and want to laugh at how bad something is.
