Children of the Dust (1995)
Overall a Good Film
I'll admit to only wanting to see this film because of Billy Wirth, which for me was well worth the eleven dollars I spent on the DVD, but for fans of more violent westerns, this isn't the film for you. It was was good movie but I was expecting more action. The dialogue at times was kind of crappy as well as the acting, mainly from Joanna Going but the story was good. Billy Wirth most certainly looked the part of a Native American and did a pretty good job playing one, too. I'm not sure which storyline I liked better, Sidney Poitier's romance, Billy Wirth and Joanna Going's romance, or the ounce of action involved in the movie but it worked. Overall, this was a good movie that's worth the watch.
It Happened One Night (1934)
Great Film
As a fan of older movies I have to say that this is one of my favorites. I had the opportunity to see this film late one evening and loved it. I honestly have to say it is one of my favorites. Of course it has flaws with the script, plot, filming and all but what movie doesn't? Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert are brilliant with great chemistry and strong supporting actors. The plot was the usual love story where boy meets girl and falls in love but it was beautifully played out in this movie. Clark gave a wonderful performance as the overzealous reporter and Claudette convincingly played the spoiled rich kid with no shame whatsoever. It is indeed a must-see especially for classic movie lovers or Clark Gable fans. Take it from me, if I haven't established it already, this is a really good movie.
