The Run (2017)
8/10
A documentary with an Ingenious coverage of the run
27 July 2020
It is a very interesting documentary which follows through the entire journey of the run from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. The documentary has very engaging and inventive visuals & frames. The interviews take the story forward. Has a sportive-type of background music. I felt the film had huge support from Indian and Australian Governments, it slightly appeared as a promotional clip at some places in the film. Though, the run has an amazing run though of the 64-days. Must watch!

Delightful and simple

This is a hypothetical kind of feature film. The story is not too great but has very interesting and funny character that carry to entire story along. There is a cultural mix which is shown in the classroom sequences, a kid with the orange turban is shown as Punjabi but he is not wearing it properly. Major mistake on that. The idea and the concept is great. A small girl tried to fix the family issues and her story amidst all these situations is really a delight to watch but as some point it looked like an exaggerated version. Anyways, can watch for a change of mood.

Different subject and Captivating story
14 July 2020
Metal music is an underground music genre. Not everyone really knows about it. This documentary is definitely one of the great music-related documentary. It takes us through the journey of the musicians and the highlights of their career. The way the film is directed is like a full-length dramatic film. It shows friendship, success, sacrifices, emotional turns and struggle. It does makes the viewer emotional but its its own musical way. The background music is theme related and carries the mood of the documentary till the end. With zero knowledge about Metal music, I still enjoyed the film till the end. A great delight to watch.

great showcase of new age Aussie story full with diversity

What an enjoyable film. Funny to see all the respected film critics enjoying it . Great moments, great chemistry and an average script very well held together by the director using all the means possible and effective. Must watch the film. Music combination of Australian Amanda and Indian bollywood is a masterstroke. Sydney is shown in an amazing way very beautifully. The little girl Smitha is to die for think she is also doing ABC stuff in Australia . Chemistry between Brett Lee and his friends is so natural and the jokes though some cliched (probably on purpose) make you laugh. Love the Indian Community Network and the way it was portrayed...true. To sum up the cliches are there but they are so TRUE.

a short look at Indian Australians. Like the tag line Terms & Conditions Apply

Very smoothly flowing documentary dealing with a lot of issues related to migrants. Indians in Australia talk about Saree, bikini, racism and many things. Lot of people featured in a short time. Very funny ending. Could have been more stylized and less ticking boxes, but that may be a client film maker thing as this film seems to have been commissioned. Worth a chuckle and watch. Also found cut version on the museum website. The opening is very interesting as all grapple with a title to define them selves and ending with the question "Do we have to choose". Nice cinematography with some good shots and time lapses. The director has managed to spun a nice narrative in a short duration from all the interviews.
