A Friend to Die For (1994)
Good movie, but overly one-sided
This movie is based on the true story of Kirsten Costas and Bernadette Protti. It is a good movie in many ways, but, as many have said already, a little too one-sided. It's very disrespectful towards a murdered girl (Costas) who is not alive to defend herself. Yes, it is horrible how cruel some kids can be towards one another, particularly in high school. I understand that Angela/Bernadette had many problems and may have been looked down upon or made to feel like less of a person because her family was not wealthy. I was not popular in High School myself. But- this still does not justify the murder, or the trashing (with a movie) of a girl who by all accounts was loved by her friends and family.
Bibleman (1995)
Incredibly bad all the way round
Let's see..horribly overacted, extremely corny, overly preachy, with second rate special effects-and this is considered good television by some?? It's even worse than Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and that's pretty bad. It's no surprise that a station as chintzy as TBN would air a show like this. Willie Aames must have lost what little mind he had to create and star in this piece of junk. If I were a child this would discourage me from Christianity, not encourage me. How does anyone expect to turn people to the Lord with second-rate rubbish like this? I notice some of the comments say things like 'well, it may be corny, but at least it's family friendly'--is that what Christians have to settle for?? I would recommend reading a book to your children and turning this junk off. They will gain more from books in the long run than they ever would from TBN.
