Resident Evil (2022)
4 out of 10!?
Not a 10 out of 10, but I felt this 4 star rating needed to be addressed. Of course this show is not perfect, but how can anyone give any show a one star rating?
I came for zombies and lore, and I wasn't disappointed. The acting was more than acceptable. CGI was average to good. The minor plot holes were forgivable. This show easily deserves a six or even seven star rating in my opinion. As a massive RE fan I genuinely enjoyed this series; more than some of the movies, which are rated higher. And I almost skipped it because of its poor IMDb rating. If you like the Resident Evil games/movies, you should definitely give this a look and decide for yourself.
PS Lance Reddick is a legend.
Gangs of London: Episode 5 (2020)
What everyone else said
This episode had me giddy as a schoolgirl...and I'm a 42 year old man.
Dara O Briain: Crowd Tickler (2015)
Another great performance from the big man from Bray
I have yet to see a bad performance from DOB. His style is quick and fearless. He loves to interact with the audience and takes talent to pull off. Saw him live in Vicar Street and my head hurt from laughing...may need an MRI...hope they still have helium.
Sean Lock: Lockipedia Live (2010)
Slow first half, but finished strong
Jokes were hit and miss for the first 20 mins or so, but the laughs came hard and fast after that. Well worth your time.
Andrew Santino: Home Field Advantage (2017)
Loved it
Very surprised to see such a poor rating for this special. I think Santino killed.
Breakthrough: The Ideas That Changed the World: The Car (2019)
Interesting and entertaining
Big fan of Jim Al-Kahlili here, so definitely biased, but I thoroughly enjoyed this and I learned a lot too. This episode brings you on a journey through time from thousands of years before the invention of the wheel, right into a future of electric driver-less cars. Will definitely be watching this series.
Role Models (2008)
Bid him good moro
This is a fun movie. The cast is great - especially Rudd. I've watched this maybe 4 times and I enjoyed the last time as much as the first.
Hyperdrive (2019)
High Octane Drama
I took a chance on this show and I am so glad I did. Such a great concept with an eclectic mix of awesome cars and drivers. Plus Charlize Theron is a producer! And I am straight up in love with her.
The Planets (2019)
BBC make the best documentaries.
This series focuses on some of the more interesting and recent discoveries relating to the bodies that make up our solar system, such as Jupiter's inward orbital migration and how this affected the development of bodies such as Ceres and Mars. Brian Cox was a big fan of Carl Sagan growing up and it shows in his admirable ability to explain complicated processes in an easily digestible manner.
How I Met Your Mother: The Time Travelers (2013)
Important Message!
Be sure to fully read the message Robin leaves for Marshal in ladies bathroom.
The Hungover Games (2014)
Solid 5 or 6 - I really enjoyed it. And it's on Netflix
Its all too easy to give this movie a low rating, but I say ask yourself, is it really that bad or are you just a little dead inside? I admit I didn't expect to actually watch all of this originally, but here I am writing a review about it.
This movie has some genuine laughs. I laughed out loud a couple of times. All the lead actors do a great job taking off their respective parody. And you'll probably recognise a lot of the other actors ... although you may not remember from where. The production is also good, with the budget for dildos alone likely in the thousands.
There's boobs? Who doesn't like some boobs?!
This movie never intended to be an Oscar contender, but you never know...
The Universe (2007)
Excellent Series
I've always had a keen interest in the wonders of the universe and I found this series to be very informative and well put together. No matter how 'out there' the subject matter, the show always stays interesting. Having watched almost all episodes up to the end of season 3 (and looking forward to seasons 4-7) I can highly recommend this series to anyone - especially those who know nothing about the universe. Don't be daunted by the physics or terminology - this show is only concerned with educating people about the incredible wonders of our universe in such a way that Joe Blogs can understand and enjoy. Not dumbed down, as some people have said, but user friendly.
