Pretentions

I was expecting much more from this film as it has reached cult status. It is a badly exectuted story with small snipets of three characters lives and everything is very stereotypical. Characters are shallow and superficial and we don't really know anything about them. The scene used as a metafor for using drugs is overused and already seen in Trainspoting (if I remember correctly).

If you want to see a more realistic take on heroin abuse I would recommend Christiane F. (1981).

I wonder who gives this film only 10s and 9s? Perhaps nothing to compare it to?

All in all, I can understand that it perhaps was interesting when it first arrived at theather floors 23 years ago, but in my opinion it hasn't aged like a fine wine.

Take a stroll throug Bucharest

Great depiction of Romanian patriarchal society and fear of other ethnicities. The walk through the Bucharest paints a picture in what state this country is, not forget that Romania is in EU and some more prosperous European countries not.

What's with the timeline mate?
31 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Timeline is so confusing! Made it worked in the 90s but not in Netflix era. They start with being senior year and then that goes on for 4 seasons with actors being taken off the show. In one of the first episodes Nick says he is 18 but later he is suddenly 17. There are pupils that are being killed off and are not remembered even later. Aso Joddie like leaves school and then an episode after she been out of school for so long that she became famous?! So strange... obviously unplanned writing. Anyhow it bothers me so much! Seasson 1 is probably the best and most honest.

Seen this film again after 8 years
16 July 2020
This is my favorite film by Dolan. It is just a sad love story is what it is. I am so grateful for this representation of trans lesbians (trans women who still are into women as the common belief is that they switch to men duh) and also we get to see partners side of the story. Film is very poetic and metaphorical and the music is fitting as a glove.

The L Word: Generation Q (2019–2023)

Very unwatchable

Warning: Spoilers
This show is so painful to watch that i makes me cry! These new characters are so bleak, you couldn't care less about them and how interesting all of them are non white like that was suppose to make show super interesting. What bothers me the most probably is that old characters are not even mentioned (except Dana to whom we already know what had happened), like why the bar got name Dana's and not Jenny's? She was the backbone of the show but I am sure the creators decided to not mention her due to all the butch hate she got back in the time. What happened to Max? Where is he and his baby? Sure we heard that Kit overdosed though no more of a backstory like when and how that happened. Why is Bette the primary caretaker of Angelica and what has happened with Tina? Helena somebody? How all these people just dissapearead from being "best friends" to not even mentioning them... especially Jenny. This sho always had many flaws but this now is just ridiculous. I like though that we finally see a trans woman being lesbian or do we now that? This trans guy is so unsympathetic to watch. Hope this show doesn't get renewed.

This is just moronic
9 October 2019
Those who made this movie were like: "You know what would be AWESOME?! If we've made a movie with 80's style and music but check now set in 60's hahaha amazing right!" And others were like that's the best idea ever! So they made this.

Feeling of alienation known to all expats
28 January 2019
Tyrel's feeling of not belonging is cause by the already strong group of friends who does not seem to be willing to include him in their group but rather to strut around showing of with their inside jokes and shared memories. Obviously race place a big role and their egg walking trying not to be racist is even worse. Michael Cera man can you even act in any move where you don's just get to party with your buddies?
