Mother of the Bride (2024)
Not Bad At All
You have to remember that this is a romance movie. Don't expect too much. People who call this a 2 or 3 star movie would rate Breakfast in Tiffany's as a 2 or 3 star. Now, this not an Audrey Hepburn classic but it was still cute. Will it win an Oscar, heck no. But it was entertaining. It wasn't a great movie, but if you want to watch something without violence, nudity, and foul language, then this is for you. Good for an afternoon watch. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. The acting was fine. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. If you are a fan of oceans and beaches, you will not regret watching it. So, sit back, have a Piña Colada and enjoy!
Reacher (2022)
Worth the investment
I watched all 8 expand if you are a Lee Child fan of his hero Jack Reacher, then you will not be disappointed. The show was a bit predictable but very well done. Alan Richardson was a much better choice for Reacher than Tom Cruise. And he gave just the right amount of humor. I hope that a second season is in the works because I would be watching it. Amazon, you did a good choice here. And thank you Lee for keeping Reacher alive for his fans!
Legal Action (2018)
Enjoyable light entertainment
This is a great movie for light family viewing. I saw the neutral and negative comments but I decided to give it a try and I don't regret it. It's not an Oscar winner nor an art-house flick. But if you want an easy escape for an evening, you won't go wrong with this. It's like a very good made-for-tv movie and I will recommend it to my friends. Thanks for the hard work from all the cast and crew. You did your job by entertaining us for a couple hours.
Dirty Dancing (2017)
I want my 3-hours back!
I can't believe that someone actually green-lit this project. Wife and I were apprehensive of watching a remake of a well-deserved "classic". It was horrid. I can't say anything about the ending, not that I don't want to reveal any spoilers or plot points, but because I could go through the pain of seeing the end. We gave up about a third of the way through. The acting was not up to par with the original, nor with a made-for-TV movie. The big kicker for me was that I really didn't get involved with or cared for the characters. There was no 'magic' between the two leading characters. I just wish I hadn't wasted my time with it. Note to Jennifer Grey (and the late Patrick Swayze), you are the real and only Johnny & Baby couple. No one can replace (or remake) you two.
