One of the most nauseating shows on TV I've ever seen

There is nothing I want to write about this show other than I cannot stand to even watch the advertisements on TV for it.

I really tried to like this...but it was impossible
27 June 2018
I should preface this by saying that I never saw the film on which this is based. I watched the trailer for the Season 3 premiere which made it seem like an action-packed tour de force. Instead it was a tour de farce of cardboard characters, stiff acting, forgettable dialogue and a script that made no sense.

It dragged in the middle and I felt nothing for anyone in that dysfunctional family. Barkin's Smurf was the most disappointing given that she is an accomplished actress but she acted more like the blue cartoon character from where she got her name. The scary matriarch that they showed in the trailer looked like a scared mouse when talking to anyone other than a family member.

TBS used to have good shows. This isn't one of them.

"Bruce Almighty" meets "Bedazzled" Absolutely hilarious
23 June 2018
Anyone who rated this less than a 5 has no sense of humor. I don't know what the heck they were expecting to see but whatever it was it was not ab out this funny flick.

Simon Pegg, a British staple in comedic endeavors, is perfectly cast as the poor shlub who is given the power to have anything he wishes just by saying it and waving his hand. The kicker is that he only has the power for 24 hours and that his wishes don't go exactly as planned.

The maxim, "Be careful what you wish for," could be the theme of this funny flick - especially if you are used to speaking literally. The power is granted to Pegg by a bunch of the weirdest assortment of aliens this side of the Bar Scene in Star Wars who travel from galaxy to galaxy looking for species worthy of joining their fraternity of planets.

I liked this film so much that I watched it a second time with my daughter. You'll love it.

An insulting, sacrilegious abomination of a film
18 March 2018
The writers took was one of the most recognized and repeated stories in the Bible and totally butchered it. There were so many egregious things in this film is hard to know where to start. The legs were presented out of order and totally out of context. Perhaps the most ridiculous and disturbing part of the film was substituting a young child for the Burning Bush, a.k.a. the voice of God, who has a running conversation with Moses which made no sense whatsoever.

It is one thing to take a few artistic liberties. In this epic disaster, they added events that never existed anywhere in any retelling of the Exodus story such as a group of Hebrew resistance fighters which Moses trained himself.

The acting was awful and the dialogue was even worse. The actor who played Ramses could have mailed in his performance. It was the most underwhelming portrayal of a central character in the story that I had ever seen. At least Christian Bale can act when he has to. However, the only thing that this movie got correct about Moses was the retelling of his birth and how he was placed in a basket and sent downstream on the River Nile to the Pharaoh's Palace, etc.. Everything else that was important to the story of Moses was left out such as the staff he carried with him at all times and replaced it with the gold Egyptian sword that he had received as an adopted son of Pharaoh.

Do yourself a favor and "pass over" this film.

Crossing Lines: The Team: Part Two (2014)
Season 2, Episode 12

A great show for the first 20 episodes
17 April 2017
I have to agree with the previous reviewer. I just started watching it two weeks ago and not only did I dislike how they killed off two of the main characters in the last episode of Season 2 with Hickman planning on leaving and Tommy disappearing, virtually a whole new show began with Season 3 with a new intro, a new domicile with lots of prior chemistry missing. IMO, the suits at NBC decided that the show needed more English-speaking actors and actresses to the detriment of its original international concept.

I've lost the desire to watch Season 3 for those reasons and because it's the last one, too. Not surprising for NBC to cancel a show after ruining it.
