The director for a message
17 February 2024
In this age, it is the director Samuthirakani who brings a good message for the youngsters. He has done many others like this. Actor Ravi's dual acting with very different characters is difficult but he made it. So was the heroine Amala Paul and hero's friend to keep lighter moments. It seems as though directors are very good at giving ideas to politicians who may not be smart otherwise. There is a clever plot by the bribe recipients who have a lot at stake to forge unity and find a solution. They do find one but that is defeated too at the end. Unless the good stands up and fights the evil, evil only proliferate. It may start off as a small percentage, but it has the potential and will spread widely if not stopped.

Funny Corona
21 November 2023
The director has done a great job of taking a bunch of alcoholics and making a funny movie out of it. Two serious things - Corona shutdown and the alcoholism - to produce a comedy movie. Tough task but the director handled it very well. It was hilarious in several places. I would say the first half was funnier than the second half. It was not clear whether the main character was producing the alcohol or just hoarded it. The rural setting made it more appealing for me. This movie also gave me a reasonable understanding of how the shutdown in India impacted various aspects of daily life. Ending advice from the director was a good touch.

Top notch acting
16 November 2023
Top notch acting by pretty much everyone, from the main character (the radical teacher) to the trash picker to the small child who takes care of her sisters/brothers.

Though such inspiring and motivating characters and stories are in many other parts of the world, the story capture and acting make it poignant. Tears kept coming down uncontrollably as I watched the movie.

The director must have shot the movie at a real garbage dump. It was needed to convey the impact.

One important message for many families -- don't beget many children if you cannot afford to raise them. It is totally unfair on the older children like that little girl.

Wonder how that smart girl became so knowledgeable? Pure self-study? Seems handed down from earlier birth!

A Whatsapp message for youngsters
10 April 2023
This movie carries an important message for youngsters, including children who use the smartphones and very importantly their parents. Shows how an intruder has come into your home via the Smartphone of your children and about to destroy lives.

Besides the message, excellent acting by the father of the girl, ex-serviceman and many others. Cinematography is also top notch. Movie started off when a temple procession and wondering what is going on. Some random killings happened and you start to wonder. Soon, the momentum built up and it all comes together and makes full sense at the end. So, the story is weaved together very well. Shows expertise in the art of story telling and movie making.

Award worthy
1 April 2023
The moral difficulty of euthanasia, the financial cost, the family and social impact, solutions for that in the past years in southern India have been excellently portrayed by the director. It is a very difficult situation in real life and that comes through in this movie. There is no correct answer. You could see the commitment to do their best in every actor in this movie -- the main character, his wife, the comatose father, little daughter, transgender in the village, other villagers. When so many in the movie give their best, the movie has to be a delight to the viewers. It is worthy of an international award.

Unusual Tamil Movie
4 January 2022
Very unusual Tamil movie with a sci-fi story adapted for Tamil audience. For sure it is worth watching. However, you need to pay close attention to follow the story. Director could have done a better job for audience to follow what is happening.
