Shookum Hills (2021)
It could've been good!
I feel like the movie started off well, had a good idea, could've been much more. Then halfway through it introduces all these random characters, shows the monsters, and removes all the suspense.
Not to mention that the entire film is just really dark and hard to see, I don't know if that was intentional but it was a bad decision.
Acting wasn't as bad as other movies I have seen.
Awake (2021)
Could've been so much more.
This film had so much potential! Gina Rodrigues is amazing and I have loved her acting for years, and I feel if it wasn't for her then it would've been a 4/10 rating. It could've been a lost faster paced, had more action, and put more creativity into the ending.
All in all, it's okay to watch but can be hard to stay "Awake".
Unbelievable (2019)
One of the best dramas I've seen in a long time.
I feel there have been a mass amount of crime/legal dramas on stremsing platforms recently, but they have all fallen a bit flat, or just have the most terrible ending.
This show blew me away from the first 10 minutes; the acting, storyline, cinematography....everything was sublime. I highly recommend this to anybody.
Chicago P.D.: The Right Thing (2021)
Yes!
One of the best episodes in years. The performance from the entire cast was mesmering.
Motherland (2016)
Nobody is likeable
I am usually a big fan of British comedies (being a Brit myself) but nobody in this show is likeable, and they all are just aggravating. I do like how realistic it is as a parent, and the storylines are very accurate....but I just can't get on board with any of the actors or who they play.
Split (2016)
Could have been amazing!
I enjoyed this film but I wouldn't watch it again nor will I ever rave about it.
Firstly I must say I loved McAvoy's acting in this, he was creepy, funny and slightly sexy in some ways. The films ending left me feeling underwhelmed and a little bit flat, I wanted more. I think if the story went in a different direction it could have been one of the better horror films of late.
Cake (2014)
What a performance!!
This is my first review on this site, so excuse if it is a bit stodgy in places. So, I like many people I think was skeptical of this film for one reason and one reason only: Jennifer Aniston. I thought she was a definite typecast actress and the film would be quite painful to watch, GOD WAS I WRONG!! The film itself could have been stronger with it's storyline and supporting cast but I looked over that due to Jennifer's performance alone. The amount of work and dedication she gave to this performance was excellent, she made me feel angry, happy, sad and like laughing all in the space of 5 minutes. I highly recommend this film for other skeptics like me, just to see the acting chops Mrs. Aniston has been hiding all these years.
