Utopia (2020)
Based on truth
So no, I haven't watched the UK series yet, but that doesn't matter.
What matters, is that like most TV shows, it's based on truth with most of the show brainwashing the masses who have no clue what's going on and don't want to know. They also said that in the show because it's true.
This one is so close to the truth because the evils like to shove what they are doing to us in our faces and see how the walking dead react. Actually they call us the vulgar and the profane. Of course 99% of you do nothing, know nothing and could care less if you are being led to the slaugher.
We'll see if IMBD even allows my review since it's also owned by the evils who control the world and hollywood and use hollywood to brainwash.
There are several lies in the TV show which isn't surprising, but the premise of the virus being a bioweapon and them trying to kill & sterilize us is ALL true and it's certainly not one lone company behind all of this, nor is the government some poor innocent bystander.
And if you don't know this or even suspect this after 15 months of this war we are in, then you are the walking dead and you are participating in their agenda.
I am about 30 minutes from the ending although that doesn't make a difference.
I hope you wake UP.
Sweetbitter (2018)
Electric
So I found the show stimulating in an erotic sense with Ella being my favorite. I'm pretty sure this is my first time seeing her.
There was definitely a lot of chemistry between many of the actors, not just one or two, so that was nice since I don't feel that often.
The acting & direction were pretty good, & I learned some things about how a high end restaurant is run behind the scenes and what the staff has to go through.
And I'm a foodie, so I can only imagine the food.
It's a shame they cancelled it & it wasn't a full hour.
A Confession (2019)
Great show
So I HATE the shaky camera type shows & I didn't notice that at all here, so I have no idea what they are talking about.
Onto this really great show...
I don't really know Martin so I had to look him up because that's how good he was at acting. Man his IMBD page is VERY long LOL
The one positive thing this show did was showcase how corrupt ALL gov'ts are no matter where in the world they are. I hope people pay attention to that.
Everyone keeps calling the higher ups in the police office "short sighted" as if that explains away them going after not one cop, but two. The first one killed himself because of how they went after him even at the very beginning.
And there's nothing short sighted about NOT wanting to continue a case to see how many more women a serial killer has killed.
I actually thought someone high up was involved in all of this because it made NO sense why they would stop an investigation just when they were getting started.
As for the rights of criminals, YES, they need to be protected because the gov't is corrupt & cops are very dangerous (not sure about the UK, but in the US & even in Canada, you can be set up, thrown in jail for no reason at all, beaten, killed or raped by a cop because he's just a criminal with a badge & they are almost all psychopaths.
But in this case the guy was trying to find the girl alive and THAT'S why he didn't want to send him back to the police station the minute they cautioned him.
This point was NEVER brought up at all except right when it was happening. WOW.
And there's no way they would have even found the first girl, let alone the second, had the detective not done what he did. They keep saying they would have, but I doubt he would have talked. The killer was smart, which is why he set up the detective in the first place.
As for the second girl, the killer was bearing his soul (or so the detective thought) and you don't interrupt someone who's letting it all out.
That's called COMMON SENSE.
So I get that we need to protect people who are being arrested, but as I always say, EVERY case needs to be investigated on its own merits. That's just one of the MANY reasons why the legal system doesn't work. They lump everyone into the same box and they never decide things based on the actual facts.
And his superiors didn't just railroad the detective, they even lied about them telling him not to go to the media. And of course they got away with it while the serial killer almost got away with NOT being convicted of the other murder, plus how many OTHER murders did he do and they don't care.
Plus the community lost a top notch cop because of it.
As I got through the show I was constantly reminded that this was based on true events, but .that shouldn't surprise me as I'm a truther, and this kind of thing happens all the time.
Innocent people are sent to jail and the real criminals are kept free and it costs the people their money to keep them locked up.
Feud (2017)
Better towards the end
I don't know why I couldn't get into the show. That is not until almost the very end about 5-6 episodes in.
I think it had more to do with me disliking when they were playing actors because I started to enjoy it when they played the real role & it got raw towards the end.
Plus we also got to see what REALLY goes on inside hollywood and how they harm actors, probably more so women then men. I already knew about the directing role issue, & that still goes on till today.
At one point I thought the show was developed just to bring all the older actors in so they had a role to play.
By the end I wanted it to continue. Jessica really hit home in the last 2 episodes & Susan was fantastic throughout the first half.
This should be watched just for historical context.
The Zoo (2017)
Great show
I've stopped watching reality shows, but this one is really good.
If you love animals & like learning, this is the show for you.
My one complaint is that unless you have cable, you can't watch it.
Barry (2018)
Great Show
High quality.
While I don't like the violent parts, it's the first time ever that I've been upset by a violent scene, then 2-3 minutes later I'm laughing.
This happens all throughout the episodes and the violent scenes are serious, don't get me wrong.
In fact, when I was a child & I tried to watch the odd horror movie which I hated, I used to hate it when people in the theater laughed at the violent scenes. It's not quite like that in this show, you'd have to watch it to understand.
While it's stupid humor at times which I normally don't like, it's also ethnic stupid humor with accents which makes it really funny.
The acting is great and so is the writing.
And on top of that, there's a moral bent to it which makes it all the more surprising and the storyline twists and turns..
The direction and editing is also top notch.
Thanks to all involved, especially Bill Hader, Stephen Root, and Anthony Carrigan (he's hilarious).
A Million Little Things (2018)
Everyone must watch this show...
Great show with excellent acting and topics that rarely get discussed at all, so I was very happy about that.
It was deep and funny along with some suspense, so this show is unique, since you rarely get all 3 in one.
My 3 complaints:
1. They showed clips at the beginning of one of the episodes of scenes we never saw from "last week."
2. The direction was off in some places, but then it got better as the series progressed.
2. It pushes the mainstream methods of beating cancer and depression. I know other shows do too, but they are usually medical shows. This one wasn't.
It focuses only on toxic drugs & chemo when there are holistic non toxic methods for both cancer & depression.
In fact the script was sooo pushy, that both the person with the cancer & the person with the depression were pushed to take the chemo & drugs from someone who loved them.
One even said take the drugs for depression for me because I worry.
WOW, do you know how many people are addicted to & damaged by drugs for depression when depression can be dealt with using non addictive and non toxic all natural products?
And chemo kills good cells, NOT just the cancerous cells, which is why so many people who have cancer & go for these toxic conventional methods end up getting cancer again in a different part of their body.
Yes you can heal cancer naturally. There's been a cure for cancer since at least the 1950's.
Healthy holistic anything was mentioned twice during the entire 17 episodes & only as something "weird." This made me wonder who was funding this series.
I thought after both characters refused the chemo & drugs that they would eventually come up with the holistic methods, but nothing.
Despite that, all of the issues in the show need to be discussed, like men not communicating with their male friends, feelings, suicide, depression, hiding the truth, & how good communication skills save almost every relationship.
Since they focused heavily on that, this is why I feel this is a must watch for everyone.
I'm very glad they renewed it for another season.
Shameless (2011)
I'm still watching...
So if memory serves me, 2 seasons ago it was getting dry & I thought it was going to be canceled, but it's picked up since then.
The show lays it ALL out there (definitely NOT PC) not holding back ANY punches, which makes it a one-of-a-kind show.
It also brings up VERY important issues we have in society & projects them in a slightly funny or down to earth manner, so that I HOPE people take a serious look at them.
It may lean a little life, but also brings up the opposing conservative side which gives it more balance.
As disgusting as it is the way some lower class people live/behave, the fact that they have a family that sticks together & loves one another, shows that it's NOT the level of class or money you have, but the family & love that makes it REAL.
I'm low income, but was raised in a lower middle class family, so I have learned a lot about how this side lives & I appreciate that.
The writing is always good & the acting has gotten better overall.
I hope it stays on air for many more seasons to come.
Ozark (2017)
Terrific Show
So season 2 may be even better than season 1, although I knew what was going to happen several times throughout this season & I appreciate shows where they keep me guessing. For that reason I only gave it 9 stars.
My one complaint which is a complaint for MANY TV shows, is that I had to re-watch season 1 because there was so much time in between the two seasons, I couldn't remember what happened. Normally watching the last season's episode brings back the memories, but in this case it didn't.
Jason Bateman has turned into a superb actor, & who even knew he was such a talented director.
I have no idea where I know him from, but looking at his IMBD bio I haven't seen ANY of his TV shows in the last 25 years LOL
He & Julia Garner stole the show for me this season. EXCELLENT acting.
Skylar Gaertner had his moments too.
I can't wait for season 3 to come out, they literally killed off several characters which was surprising.
Manifest (2018)
It's an okay show to take your mind off of things
My only complaint is I'm not a fan of Melissa Roxburgh, as she's too fake looking for me, & her acting isn't top notch. Same with Athena Karkanis.
I also didn't like J.R. Ramirez, as he looks like he has a painted on tan & his acting is not top notch either.
Saying that, the story line was interesting, & that's what kept me watching. At least it's a show to take my mind off of things.
Jack Messina (the little boy) was a better actor than the three above, & I hope he keeps up his work & doesn't disappear like most childhood actors do.
Comrade Detective (2017)
It's very surprising that I really liked it
Normally I dislike shows with subtitles because I can't watch the actors faces & body language, & I especially don't like dubbing. So imagine my surprise when the show almost immediately roped me in.
I was literally going to turn it off due to the dubbing, cheesy low quality music, & the 80's low quality flavor, but something kept me watching.
The acting was good, the story line was also very good, & I was torn by both sides of the fence/culture.
Then I started to chuckle as we got closer to the end.
It was a very good show, I hope you will give it a chance even if you are a TV snob like me LOL.
On the Ropes (2018)
Wow, I want MORE!!!
In the first 15 or so minutes I didn't think I was going to like it & THEN it just drew me in, like others mentioned.
Great acting, direction, storyline.
And I got to learn a bit about the drama that goes on in a Muslim family. I knew some already, but this confirmed things I wasn't sure about.
I only knew one actor in the show, so I got to know some other actors who I'd like to see again.
They are Iraqi by the way, NOT Lebanese as someone mentioned in their review. : )
In fact I'm upset because I want to see a season 2 already, & no matter where I searched, I'm not getting any info on whether there will be one & that makes me think there won't be one.
PLEASE bring it back!
Thanks
No Easy Days (2018)
Terrible Show
So upfront I'll say that I did watch all the episodes only because the storyline is interesting, but it's one of the WORST shows I've ever come across.
Acting is atrocious except for maybe 2 actors.
Directing is pathetic
While the overall storyline is interesting, the writers are terrible.
Even the Cinematic Fight Choreography looked like teenagers planned it out.
And what's amazing is that there's TONS of actors in this show.
The costumes were terrible too barely fitting the actors properly.
It's a Canadian show.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
Love this SHOW!!!
I will say that I still think season 1 is better than season 2, but season 2 is holding its own.
Anything that makes me laugh is GREAT, & I love fast paced intelligent back & forth. I did catch a couple of instances where Midge spoke TOO fast & I couldn't make out what she was saying, but I just love her acting, personality & energy, so I forgave her. LOL
I don't get how anyone who's NOT Jewish or a New Yorker would get most of the jokes/lingo, but hopefully enough people will watch it to keep it running.
The costumes are lovely, the writers are pretty good, & it's a relief to see what life was like back in the 50's despite women not being treated as adults.
Now why they added music from years later in the show is beyond me, probably to keep people interested who have no idea what songs they are playing LOL
My two favorite characters are Midge & her father (of course), but her mother is holding her own & I think that Suzie is getting funner (could be her dialogue too) in SE 02.
One last note. I can't believe they got some actors who WEREN'T Jewish to play Jews LOL Too much. It's not like there weren't any Jews around to play the parts.
Just goes to show you how good Rachel, Tony & Marin are.
If I have one complaint, it's the standup work Midge does doesn't make me laugh. The show does, but after her first set by accident, I didn't find her sets funny anymore.
I know she's not supposed to be funny every time she goes on (that's part of the story), but still...
Still LOVE the show.
One Dollar (2018)
Interesting show
I really liked the screenplay, as it was unique in many ways. The direction was interesting too.
I thought it was going to be very conservative seeing that it aired on CBS, but it wasn't.
There was swearing, the topics addressed in the show were issues that we are ALL facing as a country now & have been for a long time. It addresses (if people are paying attention) WHY crony capitalism is terrible for EVERYONE, & why people are forced to commit crimes.
These topics should be recognized & discussed as a whole country, as well as with the entire world, as it's not just American that is going through this.
The acting was good too, and there were times when it made me chuckle.
There was also nostalgia in certain areas.
I hope it returns for a second season.
The First (2018)
Slow & boring until the end
I couldn't make out where this show was going at all & it was on the very slow side which confused me, but in the end after the LAST episode, I want a second season.
Does anyone know if they are going to continue the series?
Sense8 (2015)
Great until the 2 hour Season Finale
So I loved this show, although there was a bit TOO much LGBT in it going way over the top when just being normal about it would have been better IMO.
Despite that, I loved the essence of the all aspects of the show, the script, the direction, the group dances & sex scenes.
What I didn't like about it was the whole Matrix slow mo BS, but I don't like that in any show/movie, as for me it's just tooooo fake.
I was upset they were canceling it, but considering how much money they probably spent traveling all over the place & the fact that mainstream people would be totally turned off by this show, I can understand why.
My heart really DID sing when there was a lot of moral teachings & obvious freedom messages throughout the 2 seasons. I'm an activist & ONLY believe in FREEDOM.
Unfortunately I was VERY disappointed by the 2 hour season finale movie.
First off I couldn't remember ALL the names they rambled off so I couldn't follow what they were saying, although granted my memory is shot due to mold poisoning, but still...
The writing seemed fake & stupid to me, going WAY over the top in many scenes. Nothing like the previous 2 seasons.
Just when I started to say that it's way TOO fake that not one of them gets hurt during ALL the gun scenes, someone gets shot.
Finally towards the end the wedding vows scene was good & the mother getting stoned was funny.
The orgy sex scene was ok (not as good as the other one), but the music dance scene I didn't like at all. I didn't know the song or like it, so that was disappointing for me as I LOVE dancing & music.
The last part where they show all the behind the scenes was nice, but of course we don't know who ANY of those people are. It would have been better, IMO, to throw in the behind the scenes with some of the actors plus the staff we can never see.
Overall thanks for a unique show.
Damnation (2017)
Reflection of our current state
While the corrupt 1% have been around prior to the 1930's, their efforts started to escalate around the 1920's, and it's clear this great TV show is a representation of that time, and of course our current state of affairs.
Corrupt government, mainstream media, cops, banks, the elite controlling the people, and the list goes on.
It's a good show that raises just some of the key issues we are facing today, so I applaud USA Network for having the gumption to air it.
It's no wonder the series was canceled. The powers that BE will NOT let the truth out, which is why I recommend to all that you start watching alternative news on YouTube channels and ditch fake news which is mainstream media (MSM.)
Coming together as one is KEY to overturning the criminals who run not just America, but the world.
BrainDead (2016)
Disappointed
Just a note that I'm not a slave, so I don't believe in politics & the worshiping of corrupt gov't.
I happen to have loved "The Good Wife," so I thought this was would be a great show as the King's produced both shows.
Unfortunately the show wasn't all that great in the end & they even used some of the same music found in "The Good Wife." LOL
It seems EVERYONE who gave it a high rating ONLY saw the pilot. I watched all of the episodes. Why ANYONE would rate something after seeing only one episode is beyond me.
First, I don't like stupid humor or horror, so the whole grotesque parts of the show made me turn my head, plus it was just stupid.
I get that they were saying that humans on both sides of the political spectrum are braindead (and they are), but towards the end they actually swayed from that point & focused more on the romance.
They touched very briefly on how corrupt mainstream media & the gov't is, & how they get away with doing terrible things because everything is hidden from the public. I wish they would have focused more on that truth & all the false flags that are played out to make people afraid, but I got the feeling they don't actually know a lot about the dirty dealings the gov't actually does, or they were told by legal that they can only go so far.
I think there was supposed to be 4-5 seasons, but it got canceled after 1.
Whether that's because the EVIL CORPS that run hollywood & the gov't didn't like the truth in it, or the show just wasn't good enough, I won't ever know.
13 Reasons Why (2017)
Amazing Show
Wow, first I have to preface how shocked I am by the people on here who gave the show a 1-3 rating & their comments.
Clearly this show really triggered them & tells me they have almost no conscious or empathy which is PART of the problem in society now.
They even went so far as to BLAME Hannah who was the one who committed suicide.
They clearly didn't understand ANYTHING the show was trying to portray like:
1. Bullying which is more so an epidemic in school, but it goes on in adulthood as well, in offices & even online.
I've been cyber bullied in forums by adults several times.
2. How most people ignore bullying & make it seem like it's something we ALL go through & so therefor it's ok because we all survive & get through it without taking our lives (someone even stated this).
That type of mindset is WORSE than bullying because these types of people ENABLE the bullies & this is EXACTLY why bullying has been going on forever.
I'm 52 & I know this was also the mindset back when I was in school.
3. While the show focused a lot on the rapes, everyone covered UP the rapes.
Again, more people who enable rapists & think this is okay.
And society who has this warped sense of (well if there's NO PROOF), then she really wasn't raped & if she didn't say NO, even though it was obvious she didn't want it as she tried to push him away twice, then it's okay.
And like he said (this is often the mindset of the rapist), girls all say they don't want it, but really do.
4. The parents who ignore their childrens' behavior & I'm talking about all types of behavior, not just physical.
OR, encourage physical violence & I don't mean the odd slap, I'm talking they praise the kids when they get into fights & don't even question why.
5. The person who commits suicide wanted to bring the reasons WHY to light. which is VERY unique since this has never been done before.
No one EVER talks about the WHYS, they just make a blanket statement that they committed suicide & we heard they were bullied.
6. How the person who committed suicide is often BLAMED & said to be unstable.
This has NOTHING to do with having a victim mindset as ONE teenager tried to point out while blaming Hannah.
To actually blame a person (teenager or adult) for their EXTREME pain & choice & make it seem like they should have just been happy with their TERRIBLE life is so ignorant, I have to point this out.
And in FULL disclosure, I was bullied NON STOP from grade 5-10 every single day, & had I had the guts to take my own life, I would have just to stop the pain.
I WAS THE VICTIM & yes I was weak & couldn't stop the bullying, but to blame the VICTIM is just sheer STUPIDITY & tells me that person BLAMING is probably a bully themselves, or at the VERY least, the person who sits by & watches as the person is bullied.
7. How the school employees care MORE about protecting the school & the JOCKS, than helping solve the problem.
This is why the KIDS who didn't do as much to hurt Hannah didn't want the tapes to come to light BECAUSE they didn't want anything to happen to their precious College chances, or their precious lie of a reputation.
8. How SPORTS is glorified in schools & society in general rather than the things that ARE important in life.
9. How friendships ARE needed in life not just by kids, but by adults as well.
How people who just PULL away from someone for NO reason at all without even discussing it with the other person is a danger to society.
I've also had this happen to me many times & have had NO inclination why.
I get that teenagers find it hard to communication, but SO DO ADULTS because they aren't really adults, they are still insecure little children who don't embrace their truth & learn how to communicate properly.
I blame society more than anything since society doesn't embrace healthy open communication.
Society tends to embrace lies, protecting ones reputation & NOT showing emotion.
This is why at the end Clay finally starts maturing & it took Hannah's tapes to get him to grow up some.
We are also a society that does NOT embrace family, love & friendship & yes, suicides are on the rise.
And If people don't have the guts to commit suicide, then they are depressed, which is NO way to live life & in my opinion, NOT an alternative.
Onto the show & my critique from a technical perspective...
The show was very well written. The acting (especially by Dylan aka Clay) was fantastic. I don't want any other actor to think I didn't enjoy their part in the show, I feel that especially the teenagers did a VERY good job in their acting abilities.
The direction & camera work was also very good.
I look forward to the second season & there better be one.
I wish everyone all the best & much love.
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World (2017)
Laughing all the time
Fantastic show... I'm shocked it's only getting 7 stars.
I laugh several times in EVERY single episode & I don't laugh easily which is why I rarely watch sitcoms. It got a tad corny in ES 10, but that's ok.
Jason is fantastic actor, & dare I say maybe even better than his father with his comedic acting. His timing & expression are SPOT on. I even wondered at times if there was improving going on.
Chloe East was also great & I think this is my first time seeing her.
Kimberly Hebert Gregory got better as the episodes aired.
I don't want to take away from all of the actors, as they were all good, I just liked those three the best with Jason stealing the show.
It's a spiritual show (nothing to do with religion) that hopefully will remind people what life is SUPPOSED to be about to bring us closer together - LOVE & helping one another!
When most shows center around violence, the military & war, money & shallow cheap sexual explotation, this is a refreshing change & I hope it makes its mark & comes back for many more seasons.
Cyberwar (2016)
Great show
I like the momentum of the show, what I learn from it & how he seems to ask just the right amount of questions.
I was also surprised they travel worldwide to interviews so they can get the perspective from all sides.
I was surprised it was Canadian made, but happy they did a great job in production.
I hope it's renewed, as I searched high & low & am unable to see if it's canceled or coming back.
We need good quality shows surrounding this topic that affects our lives. It's taken way too many years for this topic to come to light.
Grey's Anatomy (2005)
Show should be canceled
I used to love Grey's Anatomy except for the stupid McDreamy nonsense, but these last 2 seasons have really gone downhill in my opinion.
There's just no depth to the show anymore. The writing isn't great, even the acting seems lackluster to me. And this season finale felt rushed & far reaching.
Like they didn't know where to go with the episode so they just patched things together.
It feels more like a cheap soap opera now whereas it didn't feel like that to me when it first started.
Even the ending within the season finale was like what??? I didn't feel ANY chemistry between the 2 of them at any point this season, & this is the direction you are going in??? Really????
It all seems VERY desperate to keep a dead show running.
