Happy End?! (2014)
This low-budget film delivers...
I came into this film not expecting much and I ended the film pleasantly surprised. It was not at all what I thought it was going to be. This low-budget film really delivers on the emotion, the acting, the scenery...it was all great within its constraints. The two leads were fantastic. I laughed, wallowed in sadness, and nearly cried throughout this film. The messages in this film have actually got me thinking about what I want out of my life. I really enjoyed it! Wonderful movie.
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Way better than I expected!
This was an amazing movie. Of course everyone has heard of Beauty and the Beast. I didn't remember much of the story; I was a young girl when I first saw the movie and other fairy tales like it. Then after becoming older, I grew out of fairy tales. Although I knew the gist of Beauty and the Beast, I did not know everything that would eventually unfold in the plot. It makes me want to get reacquainted with all of the popular fairy tales. I really enjoyed this film a lot. Emma Watson was fantastic and so stunning! The music was overwhelmingly spectacular! I will check out this soundtrack for sure! "Belle" and "Belle (REPRISE)" were great. I'm not too familiar with the music of Beauty and the Beast, except for its title track. It was lovely to hear versions of songs that I'm sure I heard when I was little. My only criticism of the film is that I felt that they spent a ton of time building up to the meeting between Belle and the Beast, that it feels a little rushed when they actually start getting friendlier with each other, spending time together, reading books together. I felt that the transitioning in the middle was a little too quick and all of a sudden, they are in love with each other. But other than that, 9 OUT OF 10! I would definitely recommend this film. It's not just entertainment for young people. This is a classic fairy tale and people of all ages should see this.
The Ones Below (2015)
Unsettling film, yet could not stop watching...
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. In the first 20 mins of the film, I was wondering what was up with the weirdness of it all. I just felt weird watching it, but it was a good kind of weird. The two female actors stole all of the scenes. They were fantastic. About halfway into the movie, I was wondering what was going to happen. I felt so inclined to skip to the end to see because sometimes I'd rather not wait. It was so intense, but I stuck it out and I was not disappointed. Great film. The movie overall was unsettling and dismal, but I liked the feel of it. Psychological dramas are my favorite. I would definitely watch The Ones Below again in the near future and it is definitely recommended.
